The 2 stars is for the service only. If you want a breakfast sandwhich from this place, make sure to go at least 30 minutes before closing time. I came here twice, 15 minutes before closing. First time, they ran out of breakfast biscuit to make the sandwhiches. That I'm fine with. But second time, the day after, their kitchen was closed 10 minutes before closing. Sure 10 minute mark is annoying, but to me, that is still fair game, especially a location that closes as early as 2PM while their other locations close at 4:00PM. I ordered the "Tuna Melt" ... This is the second time ordering it and the second time I was let down. I returned hoping my first time was a fluke. Well it was my mistake paying $15.00 for this... again. This is what they imagine a tuna melt might be, however it is a joke. They put tuna salad and cheese on bread and put it in a Subway Sandwich style toaster, which only semi toasts the bread on one side, somewhat melting the cheese. Greens are added I guess because that's what they think goes into what they imagined a tuna melt is... Basically you're given a warm tuna sandwich, and don't be surprised if the bland tuna salad is still a little cold. The tuna salad is bland and lacks flavor due to its just mayo and tuna and some green tasteless diced vegetable. They don't offer a choice of bread... They must think tuna melts are only made for sourdough... oh and no condiments offered either. The counterperson at the Embarcadero location could use some customer service training for sure. My order sat there for 5 minutes before they called it, not saying thank you or asking if I needed anything else. Will not return. read more

Obviously ordered the wrong thing, I got the veggie quiche, but the Special Breakfast Sandwich that every. single. person. was ordering didn't appeal to me. So that's my bad. I'm sure if you order the bfast sandwich, it will be delicious, so that's why I'm giving this place 3 stars despite my disappointment. Bfast sandwiches are usually too heavy of a way for me to start my day and make me feel gross all day. This one sounds like you'd need medical attention afterwards. A biscuit (full of butter), bacon (grease), eggs (undoubtedly cooked in fat), cheese (cheese) aioli (mayo) and avocado (delicious but fatty). It sounds like it tastes incredible, but I just can't mess up my whole day like that. I truly envy people who can metabolize that. Anyway, the quiche kinda sucked. It was pretty bland and the salsa that it came with was no help, even more bland (although definitely spicy) but the biggest problem was the raw pastry. The crust wasn't even sort of cooked, it was flaccid raw dough. I'm pregnant so after one bite I had to toss it because I can't risk it. I'd go back to try a pastry or maybe go halvsies on that gluttonous sandwich if they serve it at lunchtime, but I'd skip the quiche. read more

Just took down a St. Patrick's Day Special Breakfast Sandwich. Corned beef and the works. Also tried the bacon cheddar beer muffin. Excellent eaten warm if you like savory muffins. I could see that they were scrambling the eggs fresh for the sandwich and all the ingredients were also super fresh. The biscuit on the sandwich was super flaky and moist. The Lemon Bar was decent, the coffee cake should note that is has fruit in it :-( the chocolate chip cookie was good and the carrot cake was better then most. I always pass by during my lunch break and thought I would give them a try. Their peanut butter coccolate chip cookie was a decent blend of the two flavors - peanut flavored dough with chocolate chips. Their cappuccino is ok - it tasted a bit burnt but I would give their iced drinks + dairy milk a chance. Their grilled cheese was excellent though - love that they use pepper jack instead of American cheese. I was able to order quickly, but some orders weren't prepared in order of which guests ordered first - not much of an issue since I wasn't in too much of a rush, but just something to note. Their space is made to order and go, but the Embarcadero center has seating nearby. Looking forward to try their breakfast sandwiches at some point. read more

I ordered a special breakfast sandwich and was given a regular one instead, so no aioli, wrong cheese and no avocado. Of course, with how the sandwich is wrapped (just foil - no label or writing), there's no way to know until you open the thing up. I was bummed, to say the least, and I was already at work so I couldn't run back there to have them rectify this. On top of being given the wrong and cheaper sandwich, I was charged $0.75 for a splash of almond milk in my drip coffee. I understand up charging $0.75 for non-dairy milk if you're getting something milk-substantial like a latte, but a splash is ridiculous. Most coffee places included a splash of milk free of charge. Also, as of 10/02/23 they still do not have an espresso machine, so their coffee menu is very limited. They have drip coffee, cold brew and chai lattes, however. As for the regular breakfast sandwich I was handed, there were barely any eggs so it was mostly biscuit, a slice of cheese and 2 slices of bacon - very dry and yet greasy. I tried to salvage the sandwich by adding hot sauce but I just couldn't save it and ended up throwing away 2/3 of it. It was just so dry and...sad? Like there was very little care put into it. I paid about $17.00 for a breakfast sandwich and a small drip coffee and haven't felt more buyer's remorse for food in the area for a while, hence this review. Additionally, about a week ago I split a cinnamon roll with my co-worker and it was so soggy and greasy, the oil seeped through the box it was packaged in, and eating it was an uncomfortable experience. This actually turned me off of cinnamon rolls despite them being my go-to pastry at bakeries. Again, I had to throw most of it away. I don't understand the mistakes here since when I got there around 8:00 AM it was not crowded, just about 2-3 people waiting for sandwiches. Before this location opened up, I'd go out of my way to drive to either of the other locations on the weekend and it was worth the hike (and the lines) every single time. I give this place 2 stars since the first time I came here, the sandwich I got was correct (special breakfast sandwich) and the food was expected. Avocado toast was okay. But this location is very inconsistent. Granted, they've been open for only about 2 weeks now so hopefully things get better. read more

I've only had their breakfast sandwiches and their cinnamon rolls. I did not enjoy them unfortunately. The biscuit for my sandwich was underbaked (the middle had just gooey raw dough) and the cinnamon rolls were so greasy they were dripping butter. I went to SF on a work trip and was looking for quick bite to eat. My friend recommended this place and said he would get it as a little treat for himself every time he worked weekends. I got the special breakfast sandwich. I expected a small sandwich since it's a biscuit but to my surprise it was pretty big! Their biscuits are homemade and the garlic aioli sauce they use is really good! I absolutely loved it and even went back the next day! I also got their iced mocha which was good and not too sweet. Would give this a higher rating but the staff is rude. Went here a couple days ago. When i first ordered, the only guy (didn't get his name but i can say the one with a mustache) took my order and seemed very condescending... he was also just gossiping with his coworkers while taking my order and seemed like he just wanted to get my order done with. As soon as my card worked and i was choosing how much to tip (which i regret doing) he just walks away without a word to continue talking to his coworkers. Later on, i noticed when he was giving out orders to other people, he had an attitude with them as well, and i felt so bad because i can tell she was getting embarrassed. I've worked in the service industry as well and i don't know why it's hard for him to just be professional and do his job. It's not like it was dead anyway, it was really busy.
