One of our favorite spots when visiting Mystic! It's always a great place to grab a coffee and some delicious, gourmet donuts. They are handcrafted and even offer vegan and gluten sensitive options. Superb flavor and I love their marketing. The box may be my favorite branding of all time! Hurry though as they sell out quickly and seating is limited!
Stopped by the town of Mystic to get these donuts and I was pleasantly surprised. Amazing variety and great customer service. The town it's in has an aquarium that we didn't get a chance to go to.
Soo good to be back ! Last time I was there I Picked up regular donuts to bring home but I was not able to try since they didn't have Gluten free donuts that day I went. I was very excited when I was there 2 weeks ago! It was worth the wait. The line wasn't crazy but it moved fast. The GF donut tasted delicious! My non gluten free friend had the same one and she really liked it too. Very fluffy, not dry! It was perfect! Now I wish I bought more! The place is very small inside. You basically order and take it to go. There are tables outside on their deck where you can have coffee and a donut! Prices are great too! And they have a great variety of flavors.
We stopped in Mystic, CT to grab these delicious donuts! The pistachio donut was out of this world Paired it with a honey vanilla cold brew to make it a perfect day. We brought these to Misquamicut Beach to make it a sweet morning. Very welcoming environment.
Had an iced American and strawberry lemonade. Both were pretty good but the coffee was a little weak. Also got a vanilla frosted donut with sprinkles that was decent and an m&m cookie! In all honesty this place is a little over hyped and we've had better coffee other places
Would've gone 3 1/2 stars if available. Nothing really special about the donuts or cookies. Customer service was good. Wouldn't rush to - but also wouldn't avoid.

Love that they elevated the options and I'm a "cream filled" girl so the Black Raven or whatever it's called and the Boston Creme with dark chocolate ganache were perfect for enjoying half at a time (and then devouring like a fat a**)
Line out the door, donuts, coffee, sign me up. The line moves fast, and the servers are nice when you're trying tod decide which to go with - so don't let a crowd deter you. First time here and we went with the key lime donut, earl gray and blackberry pear. Earl gray was the weak link. It didn't have any early gray flavor, however the cream filling was quite nice, subtly sweet and overall the donut itself was great texture wise. Just flat out missed on flavor. The blackberry pear was good- a little more pear emphasis than blackberry, and if you're thinking "pear doesn't have a ton of flavor as is....?", you're catching on. This donut was also missing on flavor a hit- not as much as the earl gray though. It was good. Wasn't a fan of the sugar coating though, too gritty for me. Key lime pie donut is where it's at. I assume this won't stay for the fall so hop on it while you can. If I could have gotten 3 of these instead of the other 2, I would have. It packed zestiness, creamy custard filling, pie crumbles, the whole gambit. The patio was covered in crumbs- and now I know why. People were probably eating this winner of a donut. Be selective. But I don't know, they're donuts, have fun.

The donuts were good but we were definitely disappointed when given a regular togo box because they only do their logo boxes for larger orders. Overall if i received a better or any greeting from the rude servers I would've given a better review. First Impressions are everything!

It's a cute location across the street from the Mystic Aquarium. We ended up ordering a half dozen donuts and a couple of cookies. There was only 1 employee there that I could see. I went back in line to grab a coffee and a chocolate chip cookie. Didn't bother to check the bag it was in, until we got home. 90-minutes later. It wasn't a chocolate chip cookie. I don't know what it was. I'm assuming their cannoli cookie? Either way, it wasn't for me. I can't speak for my traveling companions for the day, but I did cut a bite of both the maple donut and the vanilla glaze, and wasn't impressed. The maple needed more ... maple flavor. The vanilla was dry. There's way better places in CT for amazing donuts, but for myself, Deviant was just meh.
I can never make it here in the morning, so I had a friend pick some up for us this time! And for that reason, I wish there was another one in the state!! This time we got the a coconut and caramel drizzled donut with a Boston cream and a white chocolate turtle on top
Very very good. Ordered 2 Caramel Iced Lattes and a carrot cake fritter. Very quick and friendly staff. My only regret was not trying more! They change their menu monthly with 12 new donuts. Cant wait to try next months.
A nice little pastry/coffee shop in the middle of Mystic Village. It has outdoor seating and of course take-out. Deviant Donuts offers several types of pastries to include filled, specialty traditional, fritters, and even cookies. ... and they all look super delicious. The cafe also has coffee to drink as you eat your sweets. I ordered a plain black drip and a Boston Creme filled Donut. And yes, they taste as good as they look! This was a casual spot that served donuts. The type of donuts seemed to change on a weekly basis, which was cool to see. There was a bunch to choose from, so I am sure some remain constant. Three donuts were tried and my thoughts on each are below. Orange Creamsicle - This was brioche filled with orange cream mousse topped with orange glaze, whipped cream, and an orange slice. This tasted exactly like what one would expect. The icing was pleasant, while the whipped cream was very light and airy. Bananas Fosters - This was a banana glazed brioche topped with whipped cream, caramel drizzle, and a banana chip. Again, this tasted like what one expects when ordering this type. This was very solid. There was a nice balance of flavors and extremely large too. Bismark - This was filled with raspberry jam and topped with whipped cream, raspberries, and powdered sugar. Again, I could not believe how light the whipped cream was. The raspberries were a nice touch on top and filling, very tasty. Will I go back? Yes, I would. read more

Line out the door, donuts, coffee, sign me up. The line moves fast, and the servers are nice when you're trying tod decide which to go with - so don't let a crowd deter you. Delicious donuts! Quick service considering the fast forming line, and lots of outdoor seating to enjoy your sweet treats. All of our donuts were delicious, my favorite was the "Samoan" but it he vanilla glaze and double chocolate were the equally delicious. A perfect sweet treat or breakfast before exploring mystic village! read more

I really liked this place! The cream they use in their donuts is phenomenal - super light and fluffy. The best thing I had here was their pistachio donut. The pistachio cream and icing was absolutely delicious! I also had their orange creamsicle cake donut which was filling, and their drip coffee was pretty good. My husband said his cortado was so-so and his lemon cookie was kind of dry, but at least I got some good items. It's a bit pricy for what it is, but look where it's located. Overall though, I think this is a good spot. read more

The line was out the door and the donut choices were limited by the time we got there around 3pm on Saturday of holiday weekend. Line went fast. Service was friendly and helpful. Got a seasonal special cookie iced latte and it was delicious! The pizza donut was so generous, we shared it. Fluffy tasty dough, with a caramel creme. It made me happy just to experience it. Loved it here. Absolutely will come back next time we are here. It's a walk in/walk out place with some tables on a porch. We were fortunate to get a table. Great donuts and coffee choices. Fair pricing. Loved it! read more

de·vi·ant - departing from usual or accepted standards. And that's EXACTLY what these donuts do. Food We had the Petite Four, and it was really decadent. Rich but not overwhelming, with just the right amount of sweetness. It was kind of like a jelly donut. We also got the carrot cake donut. The cream cheese frosting was amazing, but the donut was not like a carrot cake at all. Not bad, just not a carrot cake. More a spice cake, in my opinion. I also grabbed two classic glazed donuts for the kids, and they loved them. The texture was soft, the glaze had that perfect light crackle, and everything tasted super fresh. We both tried different featured beverages and they were both good but the flavors were not strong enough. Ambiance The ambiance is adorable, natural chic, and fits the Mystic vibe perfectly. It's a small space, though, so don't expect to hang out inside. Service It was pretty packed when we went, but the staff was incredibly patient and friendly. Even with a line, they never made us feel rushed. And literally, as soon as we left, the line was out the door! It's located inside Olde Mistick Village, which makes it a great stop during a stroll. The menu rotates with creative, themed donuts, so there's always something new to try. Deviant Donuts absolutely lives up to its name. If you're in Mystic, don't skip it. read more
We stopped in one morning while waiting for the Mystic Aquarium to open across the street. I had the Oreo Donut which was great, and a tall drip coffee. We enjoyed our breakfast on the deck, as there is no indoor seating. The staff was friendly and we loved the little grouping of storefronts. read more

I came back to Deviant Donuts recently on a Saturday morning. There wasn't much of a line waiting to get inside. I liked how their menu was different from the last time I went there. I ordered the Mimosa (Jelly Filled) donut and M&M Cookie. Each were $3.95. The orange champagne jam inside the mimosa donut was very good and there was a good amount of filling. The cookie was soft and a good size. On the deck, there were about 6 tables and we sat at one of the tables. It was nice to enjoy our treats before walking around Olde Mistick Village more. read more
Deviant Donuts is located in Olde Mistick Village near the aquarium. My donut reviews have evolved into two rating categories. Classic donut shops with familiar donuts like glazed, blueberry cake and Boston Creams with customer friendly pricing (the average cost per donut is typically less than $2 if you buy at least a 1/2 dozen) is Category 1. "Gourmet" Donut Shops with more elaborate donuts and higher prices per donut is Category 2. You can't fairly compare the two. If you had a donut from each category on a plate, you'd almost always choose the second category because it's probably bigger, flashier and tastes more like a dessert than the donuts you grew up with. But if you had to pay the higher price for that more elaborate donut, you might very well pick the cheaper classic donut. Especially if you're buying a dozen for guests. At a cost of about $3.65 to $3.95 per donut, Deviant Donuts is Category 2. Some of the donuts (Vanilla Glazed, Boston Cream, Double Chocolate, and Chocolate Sprinkled) are not especially elaborate, but they're bigger than traditional donuts and cost more. I'm a big fritter fan. So I went with the Blackberry Pear Fritter. It was good, but at $3.95, I'd prefer the elaborate donuts available from other Category 2 places, and cheaper donuts from Category 1 places. Also, I didn't detect much pear flavor and I prefer a fritter with some crispier parts. I know Deviant Donuts has many fans. I'm more of a Category 1 Donut Shop guy. If I want to spend around $4 or more, I'd rather get a cupcake. 4 Stars read more

Pricey but great quality and flavors! We grabbed a bunch of different donuts and tbh I forget most of them. BUT I remember enjoying the coffee cake and samoa ones the most. Guaranteed to be a flavor for everyone which means you'll most likely have to wait in a long line of said people xD I'd for sure swing by for a coffee and donut if I'm down this way again! read more

Heard this was a Mystic staple so I had to try it out. I ordered the donuts ahead of time through their website because I wanted to ensure they didn't sell out. They are open until 5PM or until all of the donuts are gone. The week I went was the classics menu. I got the maple bar, Samoa, Apple fritter, honey glazed cruller, chocolate cream, and double chocolate. The Samoa was by far my favorite and it is on their staples portion of the menu (they rotate flavors weekly), so you could get this any week. Highly suggest. read more

Visited for the first time and enjoyed it. I got the Nutella donut and the fruity donut, both super fresh and sweet. I also got an iced coffee which was gone in 2 seconds lol! Very tasty menu and reasonably priced read more

A tiny little shop with new weekly specials. It's one of those gimmicks I can't get enough of. The weekly menu comes out, you see something amazing and you MUST have it! We popped in about an hour before closing and I was happy to see they had most(but not all) of their weekly menu still. The girl working was so personable and sweet. She helped us make some hard decisions when we decided on half a dozen. The theme this week was breakfast! The lemon poppyseed muffin was amazing and hands down my favorite! All were enjoyed and not one was deemed 'meh'. We will be watching the weekly menus and will absolutely be back! read more

Some really unique donuts here! The Samoa one was very good. The donuts are all very fresh too. The molasses cookie was a little overcooked around edges, but still very good. There's no indoor seating, but some outdoor seating with an overhang. It was a little expensive; but if you are looking for donuts a little more "exotic" than what you find at Dunkin, it's worth checking out. read more

Presentation for all of them are great. Overall if the filled ones were filled more to have a bite of filling in more bites than just the center would bring this great place to the next level. Coconut Cream This was my favorite of the lot that I got. Tasted just like a coconut cream pie. Definitely one to eat there as the heat will melt it quickly. Toasted coconut flakes on top, cream filling with coconut shred in it, loved the whipped cream on top. This one was also filled through and through. Excellent donut! Moose Tracks Loved the cute moose shaped cookie on top. Peanut butter glaze was a little light in flavor. I would've loved a bolder peanut taste. Donut is light and fluffy, not overly sweet either. Pretty good, I liked this one. French Toast Donut is light and fluffy, the sugar on the outside was not my favorite. I also in general not a donut rolled in sugar fan. I would've loved a nice glaze instead to kick it up a notch. The filling was the star of the show. Pretty good, I liked this one. Boston Cream I appreciate the thick consistency of the cream filling. The ganache has a nice rich chocolate intensity, and tasted like a rich cocoa bean was used. I would've loved if the ganache was a bit thicker to give a richness to the donut. Pretty good. Tiramisu Espresso dusting on top was nice. The espresso cream filling brought all the flavors together. Pretty good. Twix Donut is light and fluffy, not overly sweet either. Pretty good, I liked this one. This one was pretty good too. Almond Joy Iced Latte Good coffee base. The coconut and mocha flavors were on the light side, a faint taste of Almond Joy. The fact that the coffee is smooth and taste great really sold this iced drink. While it didn't get CynBites status, it was a good Woman owned donut shop. Totally worth the pit stop. read more

I recently stopped by after exploring the aquarium. The menu was "Christmas in July" and it did not disappoint. I've been wanting to come here for a while, so I decided to order a dozen - EXPENSIVE...but I'm seriously never in this area so I decided to go big. I can't remember all of the flavors, but they were all very good - I split them amongst family and we agreed they were not too sweet, and the texture was fluffy soft. The only donut I didn't care for was the jelly - in general, I don't like jelly donuts. I'll be sure to visit again if I'm in town! read more
been following deviant on Instagram for awhile and I was finally in the area to stop by. luckily there was no line and all of the daily flavors were available. we got fruit pebbles, chocolate chip pancake, cappuccino, and cookies and cream poptart. all were delicious!!!! such a quaint location in old mystic village. Definitely stop by if you are in the area! read more
Pretty good donuts but would recommend going early in the day so they are fresh and have more of a selection. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the donuts were a little stale and not as fresh as I wanted. We went there around 12pm. read more

I strolled into this little cafe 10 minutes before they were closing a couple weekends ago on back to school week and it's the cutest little donut shop inside Mystic Village! The two women who were working were the SWEETEST people you could encounter! Not only were they extremely helpful in helping me pick out some donuts and a drink, but their suggestions were delicious. Absolutely would swing into this place for a little sweet treat or a light breakfast/lunch. read more

They sure are. We have very long lines at times in the mornings and people have been great with social distancing. We have a dedicated pickup window for preorder pickup and we only allow 5 customers in the store at one time and mark the floor…
