If Twitter existed when I was 14 my account would have been the most vitriolic assortment of anti-NYC videos. (California tumbles into the sea, that'll be the day I go back to Fresh Meadows). After years of Mellencamp-fueled thoughts of farms and trees, I actually got to spend some time in the country and eventually realized I'm more of a faux-rural type. For example: I like the hiking trails and dark skies in New Paltz but I'm glad you can get there by bus or buy a coffee at 2AM. In recent years I've been on a Mystic kick. I like the crickets, stars and unexpected animals (well, not that fox that seemed weirdly unafraid of human contact). But I'm also glad that iced Americanos are a short walk away. The beverages have been perfect and the service has been friendly every time. I certainly appreciate the existence of the outdoor seating even if I didn't choose it on this late-September excursion. Just like my local JC branch, the Yelp rating here is out-of-whack. This Starbucks is located in Mystic, just across the street from Olde Mistick Village. The inside is clean with some seating, but what I really liked is the outside patio. They have shaded seating if you'd like to sit out of the sun. I got an iced latte, but instead they called my name with a hot latte. I would have taken it, but on a particularly warm day, and sitting on the outdoor patio an iced latte was what I wanted. They remade it iced for me. I felt a bit guilty asking for a new one, because the hot one was probably fine. They apologized for the confusion. I sat outside and enjoyed. read more

Never know what you're going to get at this Starbucks location!!! There seems to be good amount of turnover I'm not sure if it's seasonal turnover or not, but it was just recently that you started to see the same faces on a regular basis. The coffees are usually made to perfection so there's no complaints on the quality of Starbucks recipes. However, I do wish there was a drive-through on this location. So be prepared there's no drive-through and usually a wait. That said they have some of the best water, from what I've been told they have an elite filtration system at Starbucks locations so I normally try to get some water along with my coffees. Very conveniently located with plenty of parking and even outdoor seating to go around for everyone . Stopped in for a quick ice coffee and was promptly greeted by the very friendly barista, overall the service was very good and quick! Lots of seats inside to sit down and sip on your coffee or do some work while you sip on your coffee as well! I have always had great service at the Mystic Starbucks. Recently the crew has been friendly, efficient and cheerful. The coffee is amazing even if it is a bit pricey. I have nothing negative to say and believe me I value service and quality. I am 75 and active. The Peppermint Mocha is one of my favorite treats and they make it perfectly every time. read more

This place gets super busy with the aquarium and hotels nearby so I suggest using the online app, we use it every single time. It is to the point where people look at us with pure anger when we just walk in, grab our drinks, and leave! Only once have we had a bad drink here and we typically visit several times per week. It's the closest Starbucks to me & also one of the best. It's in a touristy area & not too far off of 95. The baristas are friendly & I've never seen it too crowded. As far as Starbucks goes it doesn't have a drive-thru which would be nice but it's very spacious & clean inside. They just renovated too & it seems like they made it bigger somehow. Quick service, clean tables and bathrooms. Staff are all super nice and helpful. They don't have a drive-thru, but they do mobile order which is way faster. I work a quick 3-4 minute walk away. I'll put the order through as I'm heading out the door and it's done when I get there. I'm consistently impressed with how clean it is. I feel kind of silly reviewing a Starbucks because, you know...it's a Starbucks. Whoop-de-do. This Starbucks, however is quite nice. Big, airy, lots on windows, and when I went in on a Saturday mid-morning in September, there were plenty of seats available. However, the service was quite slow on the day I went. I was in line for about 10 minutes with only 5 or so people in front of me. That said, the woman at the register was nice, and while I was in line, the barista walked along the line and got people's orders so she could get started on them. I've never seen them do that at a Starbucks outside of New York, so it was nice - it saved me a few minutes of waiting on the other end. Note: they don't have soy milk at the counter with the other milks, sugar, cinnamon, etc (the barista told me they don't put it out because few people at this location use it), so if you want some to add to your coffee, ask for it when you're picking up your drink. read more

This is one of the better Starbucks in the state. Maybe that's because it didn't originally start out as a run-of-the-mill Starbucks. I forget exactly but I think the building started out as a Dunkin Donuts. The inside is open and airy with lots of windows. There's also outdoor seating. By the way, its locaton is located directly across the street from Mystic Aquariam. So maybe, just maybe, you'll see either Kela or Jasper waddle through the front door. I've come to this location many times, every time I am disappointed. The music is always blaring very early in the morning, the people working can't hear me when they ask for my name so I have to scream to be understood. My drinks are always melted by the time I actually get them even when I watch them make it. The employees always have an attitude for no reason! Today I went to get my drink I ordered over mobile, they didn't have bananas and I paid extra to have one put in my drink, they didn't give me back the money for it. Most Starbucks are alike, so it seems strange that I would rate this location any higher than any other Starbucks I've been to. That said, I absolutely fell in love with this spot! I don't typically travel to Mystic, however it's on my way between where I live and my family. One day I had a hankering for a Salted Caramel Mocha so I fired up the ol' Starbucks app to see where I might be able to feed the craving and this little spot popped up, and so I went. I don't know what it was about this place but I loved it. The location was light and airy, with plenty of seating should you so choose to dine there. Convenient location, right off the highway (sort of). About 3 traffic lights away from the highway. There is no drive-thru, but has tons of parking, and clean restrooms. It was a standard Starbucks experience and you shouldn't be afraid to stop. Rude Rude Rude The worst Starbucks that I have been to unfortunately I live in the Area so my choices are few. It seems every time I go I leave unhappy and with a frown on my face the staff is very rude and impatient. I ordered two of the same drinks green tea frappuchino and they are blended together many times. I have asked staff to do them separate and they seem to be bothered when it is the policy and how they have been trained to do their job.
