Such a fun, unexpected little spot in Mystic that's the exact opposite of all the other shops in the area. Rather than being nautical & sea focused, this shop takes on a more rustic, antique feel. They have food options and brew some yummy, delish teas right at the counter. Stop in and have some tea steep, and look around at all the bits and bobs lying about.

Love the vibe here: very eclectic, part hippy, part coffee shop part Mystic Connecticut. Ordered an iced tea and an iced coffee. Both very good with moderate prices. Service was friendly and efficient- even on a busy holiday weekend.

Bagel was delicious and organic coffee to go for our trip!! Thanks for the cool vibe, cool music, and good food/drink.

The only reason I'm giving this four stars is because they don't carry decaf. I wasn't able to try the coffees but I did enjoy going in and looking around at the items that they had for sale. It's really a lovely location and the shop is beautiful. I wish I could drink caffeine because I would have loved to have tried the coffee there. It smells so so good

Down an alley and unless you're looking for it or know it's there you won't find this place. The coffee was good, not incredible. One thing that was nice is that the coffee machine didn't work for a few so the barista only charged us for 1 coffee instead of two.

This coffee and tea shop has a cool vibe. Unfortunately the machine was not working for my latte but it eventually came around and the staff was very nice about it. Would like to see a few more options but a nice place to relax over a cup.

Everything we ordered was good but not so great that we'd wait in a longer line: + Cheese & Guava Danish ($4.50): Good but a little dry and not as fresh as I'd expect for first thing in the morning. + Ham and Cheese Croissant: This was the least memorable. + Ham Quiche ($9.50): This was the best thing we ordered--super delicate crust, fluffy eggs, good flavor. Would get this again! We also got a few macarons and they were good and at just under $3, a better price than usual.

One of the places that is a top notch coffee shop and bakery, and my favorite, is Sift Bake Shop. Over my last two trips to Westerly, RI, I went there multiple times. First, their coffee is great and food is excellent. They have a wide variety of pastries, plus some sandwiches. They also have macaroons and cakes. I have ordered both their chocolate croissant and raspberry croissant. They are both good, but I would recommend the raspberry croissant. The last time I was in Westerly, RI I tried their chicken salad sandwich. The chicken was tender and the sauce was creamy and delicious. The sandwich came with a small bag of Cape Cod chips included in the price. I have gotten both iced lattes and iced coffee there. They are both good. One note of caution, their flavored lattes can be very sweet. Second, the service is good. The coffee shop is small and often is busy. The staff is friendly and they do a good job of the moving the line without being pushy or rude. Third, the interior is simple, but bright and classic. The shop is well lite. The white counter also brightens up the shop. In sum, this is a must visit coffee shop and bakery when you are Westerly, RI.

Creamy and balanced, I was tempted to get another! We ordered the California Burrito and Big 55 sandwich. The jalapeño aioli paired with the carne asada on the burrito was unreal. Better than they make in Cali! Big 55 was everything you could want in a classic breakfast sandwich with sausage and bacon on a soft ciabatta with chipotle aioli. Last note - the guys behind the counter were so friendly, greeting everyone coming through the door! I swear they knew everyone, and introduced themselves if they didn't. Such a cool environment for a cafe in a place that doesn't always seem "local" based on tourism.

They had gluten-free option, singular, so that's what I got. This plain gluten-free bagel with plain cream cheese ran me $7. I asked for it extra toasted. I got raw ass bread, slightly warmed up, with an insulting amount of cream cheese. So yeah you can get a gluten-free bagel here, but at what cost? (That's a rhetorical question - the answer is $7 & emotional distress). Anyways - I really hope they continue to stock gluten-free items, just with more intention & care. People will go way out of their way for a good gluten-free breakfast. It's gotta be good tho.

December 2025 Yikes!…read moreThis place is not where you come for hot cocoa or hot tea. There are too many choices in the area to buy a good quality hot drink. This is not. The service was horrendous. My drink was four dollars and I got charged a dollar more for no reason. Making it five dollars. The drink was not hot and tasted more like water than hot cocoa. We asked for it to be heated up and they said they could not do that. They told us the half-and-half makes the hot chocolate cooler than if we were to order just hot chocolate with water. I thought that was a problem. But then I had to deal with the rude attitude of two of their employees. When we told them that our drink was not hot and asked them to heat it up, they told us that they could not do so. They said they would have to remake it and they could just put hot water in with no cream. The snippy, sassy attitude was not appreciated. The adorable ambience of the teahouse is worth a visit. More of a walk-through. But I would never come here again with the attitude of two of their female employees. I can't imagine if I was rude to them how much worse they would have treated me. There are too many choices in this cute village to spend your money. Save it. Do not come here.
