Upon introducing herself, she asked if there was anything that she could bring before we ordered: water or soda or something for the two kids.. That was really nice - most waitresses introduce themselves and giveus our utensils or whatever and then leave. Laura didn't do that. Aftrr all our food came, it was great!!! Laura came back and checked after our food had been delivered just after four or five minutes to see if everything tasted good . Everything was great. Later, even though she was busy , she stopped and asked if we needed any refills or if there was anything else we would like. Later, when we had finished or nearly she came back to ask if we would like some boxes to take anything or if there was anything else that we would like to order" to go " for later. I don't typically leave reviews unless I had an experience that stuck with me. First of all I want to say that this is the first Denny's I've ever been to that was actually clean and well taken care of! The staff greeted us right away and took us to our table in a timely manner. Then our waitress Laura came over and immediately set the atmosphere to amazing! Not only was she sweet and funny but she recommended us the best food! We were all amazed at how delicious everything was and how attentive Laura was. We had a gig out in Tempe AZ and after our gig we were all starving and looking for a place to grab some food at about 1am. Our server was Daisy. The second we walked in that door, we could tell she was upset that she had to do her job that early in the morning. There was just 1 other customer in there and 7 of us. We sat down and were handed our menus. There wasn't much to order because "the grill was just cleaned" so we ended up just ordering more simple items and sharing some stuff. The server was rude and unapologetic the entire time. I thought maybe she was just having an off night or something and I was going to just give her the benefit of the doubt but after reading reviews from people having the same experience, I don't feel as bad not tipping what I would normally tip someone. When I didn't tip her for my part of the bill she smirked and shook her head. Sorry but I don't tip for bad service. She had an opportunity to make good tips that night but instead she had a poor attitude. Have a better attitude and do better. I used to rate this place a 5 but now it's a 1... for the last 3 years, My BF and I used to come in once a week at 3:30-4am before work, sometimes we would bring 1-2 of our employees with us to treat them to breakfast before work. The previous graveyard server Brittany was amazing, she always had fresh coffee brewing when she saw my truck pull into the parking lot, had my bf and my order memorized, but always asked if we wanted to check the menu to try something new. On occasion we would order food Togo to bring to our office employees, and she always made sure our order was right, plenty of utensils, ketchup, butter and syrup in the bag. The restaurant was always clean, or she was in the process of cleaning it. She was amazing! They recently hired a new graveyard server and this new girl is so rude. She has left us waiting at the table for 20mins before even approaching us, brought us cold coffee and when we asked for a fresh pot she tried to microwave our cups instead of just brewing a new pot, and was rude when we mentioned that we saw her microwave our coffee and to please make us a fresh pot. The dining room is a mess when we come in now. Lots of the tables have not been cleared of dishes, let's see what this weight is Table is sticky, ketchup bottles empty. We thought maybe she was having a bad night the first time she served us but after 3 more visits with this same server we have just stopped coming. I hope management finds a better server to work graveyards. It's really unfortunate because we used to love coming here in the mornings and this new Server has a really ruined our favorite breakfast place, other customers that we've talked to during our last couple visits all felt the same way, sitting in a booth waiting 15-20 minutes before even being asked if we would like something to drink, while the restaurant is completely empty is ridiculous, and her attitude is not how anyone wants to start their morning before work off. I WAS gonna leave 4 stars.. the manager was like "you guys have to put ur scooters outside" like bruh we're in a not so great area please plus it's almost midnight and there was literally barely any people in the restaurant so it's not like they would've been in the way. Our server was super sweet and attentive, restaurant was clean, food was good. We ate, paid, played on the scam claw machine, and went out the door to get our scooters and ofc my bf forgot the code on the lock... I was trying not to crash out, so I went inside and with barely any hope asked server if they happened to have any bolt cutters laying around well one of the guys there, not sure what is role was but it doesn't matter cause he was our hero tonight.. dude came out with a saw and freed our scooters like a literal boss. The folks here are good people, I returned for breakfast and a familiar face greeted me. It was Ms. Vonnie, She's been with Denny's since 1972 and is still the sweetest person alive. I ordered the endless breakfast and it was delicious. I first came to this location back in 2008 when I was in college and although the food is good, I can get scrambled eggs and a coffee just about anywhere. As a Ride-Share driver in the Phoenix area, Denny's is my go-to restaurant in many respects. However, this Denny's is, by far, the worst location I've been to. The "greeter" was a rude young man that first chided me as I entered for bringing my newly acquired Starbucks into the restaurant (never happened elsewhere - ever). Then completely disregarded my request for a table in attempting to seat me in a cramped booth. The final straw was asking where the rest room was and being told "the sign" as he pointed to it. Just. As a driver for Grub Hub and Uber Eats , I frequent this restaurant a lot due to a lot of people ordering . Even when they are busy , they will always greet you cheerfully and I have seen them to be courteous and very professional even with large groups. I appreciate the cleanliness, not only inside but also the parking lot and the front area . They used to have problems with the transient population , but I don't see them anymore . They recognize me as a driver and always , will have my to go order ready and hot and that gets me better tips. I have eaten there occasionally and have found the food to be hot and delicious . We walked up to the cash register and were greeted by a man who was friendly enough, but said he had no idea what the seating order was. The man called out for the manager, who only responded with a "what?!" The man asked him where he should seat guests and the manager did not respond at all. Okay, I been here before many times but never on Holloween night. I decided to grab a late dinner with my kids n grandkids and what better place than Denny's...right? The food is usually great, the price is very reasonable and on Thursdays the kids eat free with the purchase of an adult entree. Tonight...our server was bitter sweet...she called us all babe n hun but would look irritated at any request for drink refills, ranch or napkins. She took our order incorrectly, charged for items that were not ordered and appeared frustrated at me using my 20% coupon email to me from Dennys. In the end...we made good with what we had, laughed as we talked about our trick or treating earlier and wanted to get home early to sleep. This is a roomy, clean & very welcoming Denny's. I was served by Christy who will lift your spirits, warm your heart with her smile and make sure she understands exactly what you're looking for. I'm not big on spicy food or onions and she tailor-fit my dinner for exactly what I'd like to enjoy. She checked a couple of time to make sure everything was just perfect, and she kept an eye on my sweet southern tea. She also crafted my veggies to avoid peppers and onions and she showed me how much better my potatoes would be if dipped in the sauce covering my chicken. She was right!
