The service was excellent! This is the only Denny's we'll go to for now on. The food was good, coffee was hot and fresh and our waitress was great. The hostess and another waiter named Tommy were very empathetic to my older mom who was having issues walking because she had a muscle spasm. Then, the server completely ignored me and went straight to serve the table that arrived after me (maybe because I was alone, but the next table had three people?). Placed a pick up order for a grand slam, received a text confirmation that order would be ready at 9:04 am. Arrived right at 9:04 am and the food was stone cold on the table behind the hostess stand. I asked how long it had been sitting there, and she said about 15 minutes, and said that the text messages just send out the same 20-25 minute window, even if it is slow. I thanked her, but passed on the cold food. They need a better system in place for a more accurate time slot if you are ordering online. read more

Usually the food is actually good here at this Denny's in particular. But unfortunately now it is becoming a trend to miss several items I've payed for and had delivered. I try calling to no avail, it just rings until it automatically hangs up. I would understand if it's small negligible items like napkins forks etc, but full parts of meals that actually cost the customer money? I ordered online for pick up. Estimated 20 mins till pick up. I get there 25 mins after I placed my order and was told by the very rude girl that my "stuff" wasn't ready and would be another 15-20 minutes. I come back and get my order and she handed it to me and didn't say anything at all. Not sorry for the wait or thank you or anything . Get home and everything was cold and looked like it had been dropped and it might have been because against better judgment I tried eating it only to find a hair tangled in my eggs in the second bite. This is not the first terrible experience with rude waitresses and cold crappy food at this location. I'm disgusted and disappointed. AND NO LONGER HUNGRY. You should all be ashamed. Disclaimer, this is a novel, because I am so outdone with how terrible our service was. Today 11/11, my husband (Army Veteran) decided he wanted drive from Laveen to Tempe to eat some breakfast. So we traveled 30 minutes to the Tempe location to head to Denny's. I have been traveling to this location for over 10 years, but this time, uh not so good. First, we were not even acknowledged standing waiting to be seated for almost 10 minutes. Then when we were, the cashier/waitress said she had to wait until a table was cleaned (mind you there was at least 12 clean stations from our view not being used). Second, when we were seated we were sat in booths in the front with brown tape on the seats that were really tight spaces (that's a poor representation at the front door of the restaurant). Nevertheless my husband hurt his knee in the Army and just had total knee replacement so we sat in the front in the raggedy booths to prevent the long laps around just to be seated. Third, after we were seated - another 10 minutes goes by and the cashier/waiter comes back and asks for our drinks, I ask is the Lemonade/Tea sweetened she said she didn't know but would find out. Then after 10 more minutes, she came back with our drinks. I took a sip and it was really watered down and bitter, I asked why she didn't let me know - she said she forgot. She then said she would "send our waiter." Um... really, ok... We waited another what seemed like 15-20 minutes, and the new or actual waiter comes by, I ask for another drink, she said she will fix the Lemonade machine.... um, ok but I still want another drink, she said ok, took our meal orders and I said my husband is a Veteran, so we wanted to go for the Super Slam for free, she said she had to check since it was past the cut off time. 10 minutes later a male walks up with the order of food, my other drink and was walking off - when we asked if we could have some straws, silverware, and napkins, he said oh ok yeah. Then 20 minutes into the meal, the "waiter" comes back with a Lemonade saying she forgot. I am like that's ok I ordered another drink, she said that's ok I can keep it. The bottomline here is that more training needs to occur with the staff. How are people waited on at the front, what is the timeline that customers are served and heck it's Veteran's Day, why didn't anyone tell us thank you for our service or anything nice at all! The whole experience was rude beyond belief. (Please note that with all the excess waiting we were 30-almost and hour into the situation without a meal), so seems like perhaps that needed to be honored due to all the blatant poor customer service for the wounded Veteran to get his meal, but that's ok we still paid since she said the cut off time. ***DO NOT GO HERE.*** I will start going to the other Denny's in Tempe, the Priest location needs some work and not worth a poor experience. read more

Waited for an hour for our food and when I asked her about it she added; "it's Saturday morning" which I totally understood myself working in the food industry myself. Got to say the worst Denny's I ever had been to, we simply came in to grab some fries, the food was done and the only two worker who is working here took a break/went outside at the same time while the food is siting cold. This Denny's is to close to where we stay when we're in the Tempe area. I think it's "average" for a Denny's. It's just plain okay. We were there for breakfast. We were seated fairly fast. Drinks and order also delivered reasonably fast. Server appeared to need a little cleaning up himself but he was pleasant and efficient. The interior of the restaurant could also use some sprucing up. read more

My fiancé and I went here around 11-11:10pm. We're in town visiting and we didn't get in town til late. When we arrived it looked beautiful inside, had an older vibe to it which I loved. We decided to sit at the counter. We were greeted when we walked in. When we placed our order it was 11:15pm. We didn't get our food until 11:40. During this time of us waiting we were watching the waitress Kara make delivery orders, she was whipping her nose on her hand then on her apron.. DIDNT wash her hands once!!! She was cutting bananas for their fruit cups etc. The cook even left his station for a few minutes to use the restroom. Which is fine, we all gotta use the restroom, but it was dead in there, two other customers who looked to have been helped. Why wait til we order?. Anyways when we got handed our food, we were in disgust but hungry. While speaking to them about what there is to do around here, they both were very insightful about where to go and what to see. I was upset when the cook was talking about drugs though. I live in a state where weed is illegal, but I have lived in states where it was legal. Legal or illegal doesn't matter. While at work you don't talk about such things. I don't want people thinking I'm a prude so I'll even add, I used to smoke myself but there is places and times for everything. read more

I've had bad experiences like everyone else at this Dennys, but I've had far more good experiences and I would prefer to highlight those because they happen more often. It's a Dennys, you know the menu and the service, but that's average, this place is better than most and I enjoyed going so much when i did, i returned more than once. Food was hot and delicious even at 3am, however the service late at night isn't the best, nor should anyone expect it to be, it's 3am. Early morning is the best time to go in my opinion, never had a bad time during the morning hours. If i were you, I'd avoid the weekends as it certainly gets busy during those times. After my father's funeral the family decided to call Denny's, to see if they can accommodate 18 to 20 people. We arrive and seating is very scattered and the manager stated that only four people are allowed per table. As my baby sister, myself and my cousin walk over to the restroom to wash our hands we ask two employees, one of which was the manager, for the bathroom key and an employee rudely response "in a minute",while standing there holding with her hands on her hips. After the bathroom is open for us the same employee makes a comment to my cousin asking "are going to leave a tip or what?" My sister replied by saying excuse me what was that. We had only arrived and been there for five maybe 10 minutes and we're in disbelief of the question we were asked. When we try to sit together as a family the same rude employee walked over and said no no this can't happen. If they were not able to accommodate us why did they say yes. And why would we be asked if we're going to leave a tip or what as we just arrived. The manager and the employee were very rude, very inappropriate behavior. We had to bury my father on my baby sisters birthday and for someone to treat anyone in this manner is completely unimaginable to me and I am still in disbelief that the employees and managers chosen behavior and choice of words. We decided to leave and go eat somewhere else and my baby sister being the kind sweet person that she is walked over to the manager and the rude employee, trying to apologize about the misunderstanding of the family wanting to sit together. The manager and a very rude employee decided to cause a scene and yell at my sister causing her to have an anxiety panic attack running out in tears. I understand very well there is a pandemic going on, my dad died from Covid! But for anyone to treat a person, a human being in this manner is completely Inhumane and this employee and manager need to be re-trained on how to treat customers or how to treat a human being PERIOD. read more

The staff here is amazing! We try to get in Mama T's section when we come...she is awesome! We come nearly every weekend with my hubby and he gets the everyday value slam with no issues ever. Do try the red skinned potatoes instead of the hashbrowns. They are tasty! read more
