I ordered pancakes with strawberries and banana on top, and this is what I got. Besides that I didn't get any honey, butter, or anything. Of course I added my own at home.

    Hot coffee and pancakes.

The breakfast deals are great. Grand Slam and the Value Slam are a great combo for two. Hot Coffee, water soda. The service from Night Shift Jimmy and Sasha are 5 Star. She is super efficient and and still has time to speak to you. Jimmy can cook eggs any style. These are the best over easy eggs I've had in a long time! The local ambience music is cheery, along with all the smiles in the place.

Gotta love their motto: "Every plate is made with love, and every customer is treated like family." I've had the pleasure of meeting Teresa on a few occasions and chatting a bit. She is just so genuine and earnest. I always look forward to seeing her and chatting if she has the time. Each time we are in the area (usually to visit Yosemite and Kings Canyon National Parks) we make sure to stop in. This visit we managed to come in twice! Yay! Just love the working model train set perched overhead in both eating areas. If it's not running, just ask your server and they will turn it on. First visit I ordered the shredded beef enchiladas (comes with refried beans, rice, chips and salsa) along with a nice refreshing beer. Second visit I ordered the Trainwreck breakfast (eggs, hash browns, bell peppers, onions, tortilla chips, jack and cheddar cheese. Plus choice of two meats and two additional vegetables.) with biscuit and gravy. I choose two types of sausage, zucchini and avocado. Oh and an ice cold beer of course. Both meals were fresh and delicious. No matter what I order here I always know it will be tasty and well balanced. Service is always friendly, helpful and courteous! If I lived closer I would definitely stop by more often!

The fajitas were overcooked, and the enchilada was topped with what tasted more like gravy than enchilada sauce, which was really strange. The kids' mac and cheese looked and tasted like something straight from a box. Service was okay, although a little slow. We haven't tried breakfast, so maybe that's where they shine, but based on our lunch and dinner experiences, I don't think we'd go back.

Located in a scenic agricultural area on the outskirts of Sanger, the restaurant is housed in an impressive original old school house. Check out the original plans of the school site and buildings posted in the interior hallway. The high ceilings and open layout make for a great atmosphere, though be warned: the noise level is quite high, as there isn't much to absorb it. Our server, Jacob, was exceptional. He was knowledgeable and friendly, and we especially appreciated that he included the prices of the daily specials upfront. Here's what we had for dinner: * Crab Fritters: Spectacular. The sweet red pepper sauce and the generous crab portions were beautifully presented. * Mixed Greens: A lesson in simplicity done right. It was perfectly dressed and easily shared between two. * Mahi Mahi: A standout special with a perfect sear and a moist center. * The Steak: Ordered medium and delivered as such, though it was a bit tough and felt "buried" under the heap of potatoes, onion rings, and asparagus. * Bari Lemon Olive Oil Cake: Do not let the name intimidate you! It was the star of the show. Moist, perfectly paired with fig ice cream, and large enough to share. The kitchen was unfortunately very slow. A large party of 20 on the patio seemed to back things up, leading to long gaps between our courses (though dessert arrived quickly). At nearly $200 for two, the pacing and the tough steak brought the experience down slightly, but the stellar service and elite appetizers/desserts still earn this a solid 4 stars.

When we arrived, we were seated promptly, and our order turned around pretty fast. I went with a lunch special of seafood chowder and a western omelette on toast. My lunch was ok enough to warrant a 3 star. The reason for the 2 star, is the foul smell that permeates the entire dining room. It shifts from a latrine explosion to an uncleaned barnyard, and it is STRONG! I have no idea where the smell is coming from, but it cannot be ignored and absolutely impacts the experience!

Many of its patrons - some of my dining partners included - have been visiting for just as long. Since there are no other reviews yet, I'll take the liberty of giving lucky you, hungry Yarmouth-visitor, a detailed breakdown: From what I can tell, you can't really go wrong with the breakfast menu (which stops being served at an absurdly early 10:30AM) or the daily specials, including turkey dinners on Sundays, smoked fish, salt fish cakes, and various sandwiches. The egg breakfasts ($4.25-$8.25) are beyond basic but include your choice of toast, and if your choice isn't the spectacular brown bread, I don't want to hear about it. Alternatively, you can try a traditional Acadian dish like Rappie pie ($10) or a bowl of chowder ($8). But the menus and placemats urge you to try the "famous hot lobster sandwich" ($20) and being a compliant customer, I did. Is it tasty? Yes, it's lobster between two slices of white bread in hot cream sauce. Is it wildly overpriced for its tiny portion? Also yes. Desserts seemed to be more reasonably priced, and there's several varieties of pie available at any given time, from coconut cream to peanut butter. One thing: the smell. You may have heard about it from reviews elsewhere on the web. I can confirm that the odor that greets your entrance is nauseating. For what it's worth, your olfactory senses adjust to it after a few minutes. Note this is NOT a late night place - summer hours are 8AM-8PM but normally it closes at an even earlier 7PM. IN SUMMATION: Do stop in for the family fare that the locals have been scarfing down for generations, but the value you'd expect from a small town diner like this isn't quite there.

The burger was okay but definitely overcooked and not very juicy. It was missing some flavor. The garlic fries were probably the best thing we ordered. The hibiscus lemonade was decent, and the mocktail we got was actually really good. As for the service, some of the staff were really nice and welcoming, but I did feel a little uncomfortable toward the end. When I asked if I could pay with cash instead of card, I got the impression that the person seating us assumed I was going to leave a tip and seemed disappointed when I clarified that I was just paying cash. I also felt like some of the servers were giving us an attitude afterward because we didn't tip. Overall, tipping is a personal choice, and I don't think customers should feel judged or pressured because of it. Some of the staff were genuinely kind, but unfortunately the food and the experience weren't enough for me to want to come back.
