Only food place open tonight.... I walk in to find 8 people waiting to be seated. I look around and see about 4-5 tables of people sitting inside and NOBODY had food yet. There was one cook and literally one server and one bus boy who left at 1230..... I stood at the front for 20 minutes before the server came over to ask us to sit down and wait because he was behind. I don't even blame the server , Denny's management team should have scheduled another server ! This is insane ! The WORST Denny's I've ever been in! It was completely dead and quiet in there yet they still managed to make something completely different than the ham and cheese omelette I ordered. I was gracious about it and they were supposed to remake it. What they brought me the 2nd time was 2 pieces of unmelted cheese slapped on a bare plate with some ham next to it and a bit of egg on top of all of it. Not an omelette. While attempting to turn it into something like an omelette myself, my fiancé found HAIR in it! No one offered to get me a manager and they still tried to charge us $20.! My fiancé hadn't touched his food as he was waiting for me. I finally got pissed enough that I demanded a manager, told him it's ridiculous to charge us after that and that we want to just leave, which he agreed to. But no apology. DISGUSTING. It's your basic Denny's but I've been really happy with the quality of service at this particular location.

This is the worst Denny's ever!!! The staff are on slow mode and don't seem to care about what is going on. You get seated and end up waiting over 15mins for the waiter/waitress to come take your order. Then you wait another 15-20 to get your drinks and placeware. So to add to it once you get your order its all jacked up and you gotta wait another 25 mins for them to bring it again. I once again visited this location and was greeted by Casey. Very friendly and high energy with it being 11pm. Silva was my waitress and got my drinks right way. Service was pretty good. But the eggs tasted like poison. Chemically altered poison. So much to the point I took a bite and gagged, then spit it back out. My boyfriend tried them too and he did the same thing. We're both sitting here currently trying not to throw up everything we've ever known, including our hopes and dreams. If eggs were made in sweatshops, this is what they would taste/feel like. I've come to the conclusion that either these eggs came Satan himself, or Denny's is trying to kill us all. read more

Everytime I come here I wonder why I didn't just go to in-n-out or Panda Express. Everyone is dead on: awful food and even worse service.

I have not been to many Denny's, but I would have to bet this is by far the worst of all. I have been to this location twice. The first time I ordered a slice of pie and soda. It took 1 hour and when it finally came the soda was not carbonated, to which they responded with a shrug of their shoulders. The second time, I ordered a small meal, which took an extremely long time, and was incorrect. The best I can say about this Denny's is the food is at least edible. read more

Went to Denny's on Sunday with a party of 4 adults and 5 children. Disgusting! When they seated us at the booth, there was food, trash, etc. on the floor underneath the table. Our waiter Guliver is an amazing employee and I have never been so impressed with the constant level of professional positive attitude that he has. He is always attentive to all the customers needs, and always shows kindness to all. He is truly an asset to Dennys Restaurant and if I had a company of my own I would steel him from Dennys to work for me. We have been coming to this Denny's in Moorpark for years and just love all the food and I love the Bold coffee, and that they are the only restaurant open late in Moorpark, every restaurant in Moorpark closes so early, so if your up late this is the best place in town!! Also we noticed in the last year or so every time we drive up and park outside in the parking lot that the sewer line drains have a horrible odor coming from the ground, and it smells like rotten sewer water and chemical waste. I would like to suggest that you either call the city of Moorpark and complain about the sewer system odor problems, or maybe hire a private company or plumber that can clean out your sewer line in front of the restaurant. Why do people bring crying babies to restaurants. The management wouldn't ask them to be quiet since they could get a complaint. This isn't the first time we were here with babies crying. So left to go somewhere else for lunch. I don't have to listen to crying babies and management that is afraid to ask the parents to try and keep their child quiet. read more

Went on a Sunday morning and were told it would be a 10 minute wait. 25 minutes later we're still waiting. Waiting area was packed with waiting customers and the line at the register for paying customers were also backed up. Manager was apologetic saying that they were short staffed and it would be a while to be seated and that service would be slow. Seemed very unorganized and chaotic. We already wasted 25 minutes waiting and didn't want to spend all morning there. We decided to go elsewhere for breakfast. read more

I was greeted by Karla tonight and had a wonderful time because not only was she prompt, helpful and informative, she was very friendly, out going and took the time to talk to us instead of simply taking our order. I like this place because it's one of the few places in town that stays open late. I drop by here if I am out all day. I actually enjoy the food here although I hear it's better anywhere else. The service can be friendly depending on who you get. It's never super busy when I come in but it can take forever to pay your bill. I've been coming to this Denny's for about 4 years. The service I've received has been from good to spectacular. Never anything below that. And no, this isn't Mastro's Steakhouse or Nobu, so don't expect a perfect atmosphere with "perfect" service, "perfect" staff, "perfect" timing and an overall "perfect" restaurant. Planning is everything and management dropped the ball. We went in on Friday night after the high school football game. Moorpark is a small town with few places to go at 10pm at night. They were not prepared at all. 1 cook and two servers and about 20 tables to serve. This rush should not feel new to them and they should be on top of the community events. We waited 20 minutes after being sat to be greeted. We of course gave both our drink order and food order. We then proceeded to wait 1 hour for our food. I'm not kidding....1 HOUR. There was a party of 10 that finally got up and left because after 45 minutes they still had not one drink. There was a busser but she spoke zero english so chose not to help get drink orders or make salads or desserts or anything; just wondered the restaurant clearing dishes. Finally at 11pm another server came on and she proceeded to help. Problem is, she sat tables and helped them and got them drinks before helping the table that still had no drinks and they came in with us. Most were kids but they were being polite and quiet and last time I checked they were going to be paying customers too so they deserved service as well. At this same time, another busser came on. Again, half cleaning tables but did not raise a finger to assist with getting drinks or running food. And I do believe he spoke enough english. I have been in the service industry for 20 years, restaurant specific. I wanted so badly to jump up and help smooth this disaster out. Poor planning / scheduling by management Poor communication between employees - server skills were low - needs to learn how to work their station as a whole. Lots of ping pong behavior. Poor teamwork - I hate the words...it's not my job. Help where help is needed first. I go to this Denny's enough to know that this is the norm for this poorly ran restaurant. I take my kids to breakfast every weekend on a rotating schedule (one at a time), and they pick Denny's about half the time. We are in a few times a month, and have never had a bad experience. It's not stellar, but is consistently a good meal, with good service, at a decent price. No complaints. read more

I'm usually not the type to complain nor even yelp but Food wasn't to bad except the fact that barley half my skillet had food on it. My boyfriend got the breakfast burger and said it was good . So my only angry part I have is that one of the cooks came to the frontish counter where people can see him and had pancakes in his hand that someone had complained about and he picked it up with his hands scrapped off the butter put them back on the plate and the manager watched and still served it. Went here recently with our 3 young kids (ages 3,6,8). We were pleased with the service and the food! Kids got pancakes, eggs, and fruit. My husband and I got lunch items. All the food came out nice and warm and our waitress was friendly and attentive. My only complaint would be we ordered an appetizer and it came out after we received our meals. Up and down, depending on the staff. Sometimes, a really cute, fun place to get a good meal. Other times, kind of a disappointing pain in the butt. Exactly 3 stars out of 5. My biggest problem isn't with the location, but with the oddly-racist advertising put by the corporation that owns them. More than once I've been eating meal, reading an ad that effectively said, "Ethnic group A is the customer of the past, old-fashioned and boring. Boo ethnic group A. Ethnic group B is the exciting new ethnic group of the future, and we want them here more than we want you." To be fair, the staff has never been racist, just the ads they work with, but even that is pretty awkward when I'm eating my pancakes. The pancakes themselves? Eh, ok I guess. read more
