What a surprise, momma said Denny's pancakes were good, picked up the very convenient Lumberjack Family Pack that came with 8 bacon strips, 8 sausage links, 4 ham steaks, scrambled eggs, hasbrowns, buttered toast and 8 pancakes. Order was ready right on time, staff friendly and efficient, and the food was packed nicely. All food was hot, freshly made and to go containers were packed. Sausage was the standard sausage, thick sliced loaf ham. Lots of crispy hash browns and eggs. Next time I won't order their bacon which was super thin. The best thing were the pancakes which were fluffy and delicious. There were 4 adults and a babes and we had a ton of leftovers for $40 out the door! Cheap, fast, fresh and good! read more

Will the employee be held accountable for her actions? Does management care about the unnecessary risks the staff is placing on the customers? This morning I placed an online order for a side of bacon and a side of eggs. The order was scheduled to be ready at 10:42am. I arrived a few minutes early. There were already two guys waiting...one to pay and one to pick up his order. After a few minutes of waiting, the guy who wanted to pay complained and said, "Where is everybody?" One of the servers went into the back and another employee (REP) came out to assist. The guy who wanted to make his payment was assisted and he left. The guy in front of me was told that his order wasn't quite complete. I was informed that there wasn't an order up for me. No worries as it was just about the time they said my order would be ready. I waited outside for a few minutes, then when back inside. REP was packing up his order and he left. Then she went back into the kitchen and then came running out past me. I took a step over to see what she was doing since she was supposed to be helping me. Although I couldn't hear what was being said, she got a small white container back from the customer who had been in front of me. He and the two bags of food were already inside his car. When she entered back into Denny's, she went into the kitchen a different way. At this point I could no longer see the white container, but I watched her and her actions. Now the white container was visible and she placed it on the counter, opened it up and moved the bacon back inside the container with her finger. She then grabbed another plastic container (presumably my eggs) into the bag and then placed the white container on top of the plastic container) and proceeded to come out of the kitchen and hand me the bag. Very upset, I said, "Are you going to give me the bacon that you just got outside from that guy?" She said, "No. I threw that out. I wasn't going to give him extra food." I went on to argue that I watched her and saw her place the container on the counter, not the trash. If you see in the attached picture, you will see a blue trash can. In the photo, the counter is to the right. Never once did she turn her body or hand towards the trash. Also she would have me believe that four new pieces of bacon were quickly prepared for me to go, when I had to wait over ten minutes for the first order. A side note is her manager came out and he was rude and just said that he is too busy to deal with this and started walking off. I demanded that he bring the REP back out. She did come out with a number for me to call as they couldn't issue the refund there since it was an online order. I called for the refund, but asked that something be done about reps handling food act in this manner. She said that not only would the manager see it (he will be useless) and the Franchise owner would be notified. Hopefully he/she will care about his business. Here's What I Think... It's bad enough to take food back from one customer (outside the restaurant and in their car) and give it to another customer in normal times. It's just not hygienic. Now with Covid, having someone else breath or cough over your food isn't safe. Also, she had to touch the door to open it each time she went out of and into Denny's, then she touched my bacon without washing her hand/finger. Please think twice before going to this Denny's. Unless they give common sense training, it is unsafe. read more

I was actually hesitant to go to this Denny's due to the ratings it had on Yelp but it was actually not bad here!! Great service, service was on point, my meal came out perfect and fast, and place was updated! I guess it also depends on the day or time when you come and that's probably why some people have bad ratings on this place. Its Denny's so mediocre food but it's now updated. Love their options. It's right off the freeway and I would think it gets busy here but it was not. Still good food to me. I haven't been to this location in years! I like the update inside. Will be back! Denny's is located in Hayward. Had a craving for breakfast. Was nearby, so I dropped by. Service was okay; it was a bit slow -- understaffed, perhaps. Originally going to get the Super Slampler ($6.99), but while waiting to for someone to take my order, switched to the Country Fried Steak & Eggs Sizzlin' Skillet ($8). Order taken. I don't really set my expectations super high for Denny's (at least in the Bay Area). However, I do expect their food to be served rather quickly and for it to be satisfactory. This was my first time going to this location. It was empty aside from a few take-out customers. It was super late so business was slow. My food was delicious! The salad was served fresh and so was the entree (see photos). Also, the waiter/hostess was super polite and helpful! She even randomly scanned a $2 off coupon for my meal! I honestly didn't have any expectations when I ordered this, but it's surprisingly the best beyond burger I've ever had (coming from a vegan). My SO and I went to Denny's for brunch today. I hadn't been to Denny's in years and due to bad ratings here my expectations were low. But to my surprise, everything went well! Food: Food came out pretty quick! We got two $8 meals - Country fried steak and potatoes skillet (mine) and Chicken breast and potatoes skillet. I liked mine! My SO also enjoyed his food. I saw their value menu: $4.00 for two pancakes, and bacon strips, and any way u want ur eggs. So i got scramble and my boyfriend got "over easy". For the price it was realllly cheap. I ordered online the day before yesterday and picked up today this AM. I was pleasantly surprise how quick they were i came about 5 minutes over my scheduled time and the food was ready at the pick up. Only thing was there (1) cashier serving about 5 people in the waiting area, which made me wait a few minutes. I expect someone else taking the order and some else handing out the food but it wasnt in this case so i had to wait a lil bit. Came home the pancakes were super fluffy and enjoy it every much. Also sign up for the disney rewards online to get points. read more

They like to scam you at this location. I ordered a burger with lettuce tomato and onion than o got a receipt that I was charged 3 premium toppings. I told the waitress and manager that these topping were on the free toppings and not premium paid. They said I had a old menu and there are now considered premium toppings regardless if the menu I had said differently as they looked at me smugly. read more

Just an excellent place to be!…read more A friend had heard rave reviews about their authentic Argentinian empanadas and we were so happy to come and try it out on a Saturday afternoon. Parking was busy (the lot is shared with Trader Joe's) but we managed to find a spot and head into the busy but not packed cafe. There is a large assortment of empanadas, from meat options like chorizo and chicken, to vegetarian like corn and onion, to sweet options too like apples. The menu also boasts lots of great drinks including mate tea! Lucky us, the empanadas we ordered weren't in stock so we had to wait ~10 for freshly baked ones. They came out buttery and piping hot, even with little hand-stamped letters on them so you know what you're eating, and it was so delicious. Most are about $5.50 each. Add oregano chimichurri for a bit extra if you want or pair with a tea, but these empanadas really hit the snacky spot. Lots of wooden tables with fresh flowers make Pampas a great space to chat with friends or to sit and do some work. The most standout feature was the friendly and efficient staff who seem to build connections with everybody who walks in the door. Worth a drive to Castro Valley! Especially if you bring cash for a 10% discount off a dozen :)
