My dad being an immigrant use to love taking me here 20 years ago because he felt like we should experience tradition American food and back then, it never disappointed. Today, however, was an incredibly disappointing experience for my father, me, and the rest of the customers during the 6:30 to 7:45 shift. It was Father's Day and I now realize why there were so few customers on this special day. First, I kid you not, we were greeted there by a guy wearing no shoes. He opened the door for us. My dad didn't know what to do so we gave him a dollar and quickly went in. I asked why there was a guy wearing no shoes opening doors for customers and the front desk person told me that that they've asked him to leave and he wouldn't so they're stuck with him. I'm pretty sure the manager wasn't there or if he/she was, they definitely didn't do anything about it. We sat down and there was a commotion about how they couldn't find us a server so they had the new girl take our order. She was super sweet but had no previous experience taking orders. During this time, the table to the right of us left because they haven't had their order taken in 15 minutes of sitting down. She got us our drinks and disappeared. Literally. There were no people in the front or in the kitchen for 20 minutes. My dad and I got bored so I went looking for crayons. With no staff members in sight, I borrowed a pen from the front and my dad and I did the crossword and played a couple of games of square dot connect. We returned the pen after we finished and still, there were no workers. After a while, a Hispanic looking fella came out to help the other side of the restaurant but our waitress was no where to be found. Once she came out, she told us the food was on the way. It was 45 minutes since entering the restaurant. Luckily, my dad and I were having a nice conversation so that helped us pass the time. Soup came out first... we didn't order soup. My dads slow cooked pot roast came out next. They forgot the mashed potatoes. Our appetizer came out last and they forgot one of the sides and still charged me for four things on the sampler platter. I just wanted the experience to end. My dad was tired and all I cared about was his happiness so we left as quickly as possible. Shout out to our last waitress who tried to hold down the fort. We unfortunately will not be attending this establishment any further. Next time, I will spend my time learning how to make good food for my dad. Denny's - There was 20 minutes of no staff members anywhere to be seen. - American Near Me - Hayward, California

This review will be an embarrassment to me because I was a General Manager in Ohio. Worst burger I have eaten. The burger was burnt black and dry. I paid for cheddar cheese and extra cheese which there was only one slice and the cheese was translucent and clear as if the burger sat for 45 mins. ( I ordered online and was there in 12 mins.) Could this burger have been a mistake from yesterday?? I wonder who does the prep there because the onion slice was 1/2 - 3/4 inch. Nauseates me to think I paid $15 read more

I ordered DoorDash this morning and this was absolutely one of the worst meals I have ever ordered. The sausage taste like some kind of chemical and my partner, and I both noticed separately and had to dispose of it. The biscuits and gravy are a joke. I do better with a powder mix and water, but whatever they are serving it's just absolutely repulsive and has the same chemically taste because their sausage is in it. The only thing truly edible on that plate was the toast. Sadly, the rest went to the trash and at this point, unfortunately I won't be given any Denny's another chance. They clearly do not care about the quality of their food which means they also do not care about the people. They are serving it too. Whatever chemical is lingering around in their sausage needs to be investigated because it could be giving people long-term health problems if they eat there regularly. Thankfully, we each only took one bite. I do want to add that there was nothing wrong with the preparation of the food. It looked like it should taste good. So what I take from that is the Kitchen can do their jobs but unfortunately, with the poorest of quality ingredients you get what you get. read more

I've been coming to this Denny's since I was a kid. 30+ years later I come here and now with my kids. Sushila holds a fond place in my heart, she worked here when I was a kid and she is still here. This place has the worst service when we came in we spent around 20 minutes waiting for the one single worker they had moving between hosting and serving. When we finally got seated it was AFTER two parties that had come in after we did. Shantal was our "server" she came out once to take our order and then sat in the back kitchen the entire time we had to wait to even pay for another 15-20 mins. Ridiculous horrible service and half decent food. We didn't get checked on once and there wasn't a positive attitude amongst any of the staff. There is no manager on site so maybe that's what they need for some structure. read more

dennys is good as long as you dont buy a drink. then the value goes out the window. $4 for each drink? in n out does a 4x4 with animal fries and a drink for like $20 while a dennys double burger with seasoned fries and a drink were $24 before a tip. u come here because its open at 3am and u aint got shit to eat at home, not cuz its affordable. the food itself is ok, not gourmet but its also not bad, i enjoy the seasoned fries, which u do get a decent amount of. Came in line was long nobody cared about it but Beverly came out while busy also fulfilling orders and she was amazing gave us excellent customer service and seated us and took orders so the only reason I'm giving a 2 star is because of Beverly. She deserves a 5 star. But whoever her manager is deserves 0 stars because she is not getting the help she needs Beverly was nice to us even though she has been working long hours. Usually I don't expect much from Denny's especially late at night, we only come here since they're usually open 24 hours. We usually have to look for our servers because they disappear for long periods of time between getting drink orders, food orders, etc. My group of 4 who came here late at night were seated almost right away and our waitress who asked us for drink orders disappeared for a good while, so Monique who wasn't even our waitress came by and asked if we have been helped already and got us our waters. She made sure we had our orders taken and our food came out in an efficient manner. When we were finished, we went up to the front to pay and there was no one at the front, but not even a minute later, Monique comes rushing out and apologizing to us and we told her no worries, she has been excellent all night especially her stepping in for who knows how many tables that she wasn't even assigned to because the other waitresses were disappearing. 4 stars because of the excellent customer service for the last visit we had from Monique, thank you for your friendliness and good customer service even when it's very late at night and when you're doing everything by yourself. read more

Anyone ever had the late night munchies? This Denny's was the only restaurant that was open late at night. I dragged my friend out of his house to get food with me. To come to my surprise, the service was exceptional at this location. Our server, Jesus's first day on the job and he did amazing! He made sure me and my friend were catered to and given that we came in at 3 AM on a Friday night. I wouldn't expect that we would have a great breakfast service at Denny's. read more
