Unfortunately it seems that I wrote my previous review for the wrong location (Kruse in Springeld). However, it's great that the cooks were such crap, that I've been given another chance! So I really wanted my usual for lunch (Moons Over My Hammy w/no cheese) before class and so I met some friends here. First off, it's was obviously apparent that things would go awry when it's the same abnoxious cook who has nothing else to do but discuss his "baby mama drama" LOUDLY to his coworker in the back. So loudly, that we heard our waitress ask him to tone it down several times. Then, after an unusually long time we notice all of our items up on the counter waiting to be picked up when unsurprisingly, the waitress yells at him to redo mine since he put cheese on it. By this point, it's taken so long that I order my meal in a to-go box and I was just going to take it. After another six or so minutes (and I REALLY have to leave) she bring my box over. I open it up to check it. There's cheese. More than the first time. I threw it onto my plate in disgust and as calmly as I could, walked over to her and asked that it be taken off our bill immediately. Seriously considering if I'll visit Dennys EVER again in Oregon. Not only were the servers kind, respectful and accommodating, but the kitchen staff was FANTASTIC! I have a dairy allergy, and was immediately noticed their patience and understanding with my order on a SATURDAY morning!! The cook that prepared my meal made it a point to come out and talk with me about EVERY change he made to the order in a polite and friendly way, while he explained to me what was changed he mentioned how seriously they take allergies in the kitchen, and you could tell he was being sincere! I ordered from dennys from Postmates, and they put a different order in my bag. The receipt says my correct order however the contents are nothing that I ordered. I contacted the dennys and they were extremely rude to me, barely even giving me the chance to speak AS IF they weren't the ones who fucked up. The woman I talked to was horribly rude and I wish I had her name but she had an ugly ass voice. I'm hungry asf and the order is totally wrong and they didn't even have the decency to be kind or to even listen to me when they were the ones who messed up. Five stars. Amazing waitress who was bubbly, sweet and laughed a lot. Everything you could want from a Denny's. Loved the sign for cold beer, lol. Satisfying meal, and vegetarian. My mom and my daughter and Cane in when it was not that busy we got sat down quickly. My mom ordered a steak salad however the steak was very greasy and the pieces were very small it cost her salad to taste terrible and also the salad tasted like it was old. I asked for a side of bacon which was supposed to be four pieces there was four pieces but it was so small and greasy, and my Hashbrowns were not cooked all the way and we're cold. I didn't complain to the waitress about my food, but my mom however wasn't happy with hers and I didn't blame her to complain, she didn't ask to not have it charged she just said it didn't taste good the waitress "said well looks like you eat all the good stuff and just left the lettuce." I thought that was a very rude comment! You don't treat your customers like that. After that then I told my mom you should definitely get that off your bill. She said she's have manager come over and speak to us but the managers acted like they were busy (when I could clearly see one of the managers was behind the counter drinking out of her cup, and talking to other staff that doesn't look too busy to me) and didn't even want to bother with us we're never coming back to this place again. She did get the salad removed from her bill but the whole experience was not what we expected read more

This happened on May 18, 2018 My friend and I went here around 11pm, after a concert, for something to eat because it was on our way back to our room at The Comfort Suites. Neither of us had eaten at a Denny's in a long time, so we were craving the familiar breakfast food we had missed. First thing we noticed was the ashtray smell when we walked in the door. It was like the place hadn't been updated or cleaned since the 70's. But we pursued on, hoping the experience would get better. We were seated by a window, with a clear view of the kitchen directly across from us. We could see 3 men bustling around preparing food and chatting. Most everyone there was wearing Denny's uniform shirts, except for one older man who was wearing a button down, blue collared shirt. He was in the kitchen helping the cooks, and it was obvious to us that he was the manager. While we sat and talked, we watched the food come out for other people and sipped on our iced tea. We kept our eyes on the kitchen, patiently watching for our breakfast orders to be placed on the serving bar between the cooks and server's. As we watched other people's orders being placed on the bar, we noticed that the manager was wiping sweat from his brow and continuing to serve people... WITH HIS BARE HANDS! What especially caught our attention was that the manager took toast from a plate and replaced it with a English muffin, WITH NO GLOVES ON! Then he proceeded to add slice's of toast to someone else's plate of food... Still, NO gloves! All while wiping his sweaty brow and talking/spitting to his staff over plates of food about to be served to unsuspecting guests. I called our waitress over to make her aware of what we witnessed. She said I'll go let him know. We watched her go up to the serving bar and speak to the manager. He looked at us and had an obvious "this can't be good" look on his face. After their discussion, she came over to our table and said, "He said he'll put some gloves on now." At this point, the tables with other patrons were listening to our discussion with our waitress. I could see the people at the table in front of us push their food away. My friend and I had made the wise choice to not eat there, and promptly left without saying another word to anyone. As we were sitting outside in her truck, we watched 2 other couples leave. Unless you want to be sick... You DO NOT want to eat there! read more

Cant seem to find iDenn ys here that is open 24 hours. But I love their breakfasts which are affordable and more so with more options all the time. They are usually consistent with well-prepared food that is delicious. Plus you can get whatever you want at any time. They are, however stingy on substitutions but they try to make up for that with add on options that are affordable I ordered the steak and egg breakfast that came with a huge made to order T bone, has hash browns, toast and eggs. They usually offer pancakes as an option but do not with this meal. However, you can get a side order of cakes for just $2 which I opted for. I had a delivery service go get the order. Everything I wanted was delivered, fresh and hot. I told them it would be picked up and to ensure that the meal was hot when it left. Now, the food, The basted eggs ordered were perfect. Few cooks get it right and even fewer waitresses even know what that is. Basically, it is a hot egg whose yellow is cooked, hot but not over done. I hate done eggs of any kind and have learned that they should come off the heat before they are cooked through since they keep cooking like meat. The steak was cooked to perfection, just as I like it -med rare. So many times I order this only to get a well done steak. It should still be pink to qualify as med rare, which it was. It was huge, too. The hash browns were VERY sparse and the edges burnt. Very disappointing. The pancakes were ok but way to thick and very dry.. I had to literally soak them in syrup so they would be flavorful. Again, disappointing. Dennys usually has really good cakes but these were kind of awful. They gave me no extra butter, in fact, any at all which might have helped and not nearly enough syrup. I also asked for sour cream which I got but no BBQ sauce, ketchup or steak sauce. Or even so much as a napkin. Overall, I would definitely eat there again but would have any delivery service go over it all thoroughly as I asked... which they obviously did not do. read more

Denny's obviously isn't the best restaurant in town, but their nachos are ridiculously good. Great layering, and the cheese sauce is really good, like a Queso Fundido sauce instead of yellow nacho cheese sauce. Lot of chili and other toppings too. Best nachos in the city. I also enjoy the breakfast skillets. Denny's is a good place to go for breakfast, aside from the nachos, it's the only thing I order here really, so my review is entirely based on the breakfast and nachos. The waitress are nice, and the food comes out quickly, but sometimes the waitresses talk a little too much, there could be less of that. The should bring back the special Hobbit Menu. read more

This is an old-school Denny's. The interior is not updated in any way. It was like revisiting my old road trip days when I was 10 years old! They did have the updated menu with the skillets, and all of the classic breakfasts, which they serve all day. I ordered a dinner salad (filet mignon cobb salad). It looked good on the menu, despite picturing only a little bit of meat (6-8 bite-size pieces). When it arrived, it looked a bit disheveled, with the toppings kind of thrown on the top. It was tasty though...the meat was tender and flavorful, and it balanced out with the other cobb salad ingredients. My husband never got his english muffins with his omelet, and he said the coffee tasted burnt. They use the old, pour-over drip type, that sits in a carafe on a warmer/burner to keep it hot. The result is a concentrated coffee that is burnt, and no amount of cream and sugar can fix it. YUK! read more

In the realm of Denny's restaurants, this is the worst experience I've ever had. Their specialty pumpkin coffee came cold, and when we asked to have it warmed, it never came back. For two bucks you get biscuits and gravy and an egg.. they aren't spiced much, but with a little black pepper - not bad. Step up to $4 and you can get 2 eggs, choice of meat and two pancakes - good, hot and filling. Also for $4 you can get all you can eat pancakes, which aren't bad at all, but no choice of syrups. I would have given them 4 stars, but the service is a bit lacking. If you're feeling lucky, they have gambling slot machines too. My oh my, what a treat. I had never been to Denny's before, and have been told that it is actually a franchise and they can be found pretty much anywhere. I am shocked that you can find this level of artisanal food craftmanship everywhere you go! The Bride and I began with their griddle cakes, which are almost like fluffier crepes. They came served with (what I believe to be) hand whipped butter and a sweet maple reduction sauce. Heaven on earth! Next I had their whimsically named "Moons Over My Hammy," which is kind of like a fusion between an English Breakfast and a Croque Monsieur. Inspiring take on two classics, and utterly delicious! The Bride had their house special "Grand Slam," which truly knocked it out of the ball field (Not much of a sporting gentlemen, but I do know enough cricket to bandy with the fellas when need be). Our server was an absolute doll, and treated us road-weary warriors as Nobles or Counts. My one knock would be that they do not have a Wine menu! read more

This is the worst Dennys I have ever been in! The manager was our waiter and I explained I was gluten and dairy free and he spoke to me very disrespectfully regarding, if they couldn't cook my eggs in butter, then he didn't want me complaining if they broke. He proceeded to go to the kitchen and further humiliate me, by using his outside voice, telling the cooks all about not using butter on anything including the eggs and on and on and on...I was so embarrassed! I chose Dennys because they have gluten free menu items! I had eaten at Denny's in Salem recently and felt so relaxed, knowing, they understood... Natasha, I believe was her name, inherited our table, as the manager was working with his boss on the coffee machine that was broken. She was awesome! My steak was cooked perfectly, as was my eggs and the rest of my meal. My husband and friend had steak and shrimp...the shrimp was over cooked and was very, very hard. Upon leaving, the manager did come over and apologize for not getting back to our table and wanted to know 'how it turned out'. I told him it was good and thanked him. Living close by, and being frequently too lazy to cook, I have taken to just as frequently visiting this Denny's, and not just because of the adorable cat of the same name who acts as unofficial greeter. I have witnessed this store go through its ups and downs, but the current management is outstanding and most of the bad apples among the staff have moved on. Only one remains and I almost never see her anymore. As of this writing their cooks really have it together (although it is Denny's so don't expect food you're going to have dreams about.) It's inexpensive restaurant food, and you're not likely to forget, but every time I go in the food is cooked to perfection and just as I ordered it, so they do the best with what they've got. The service I couldn't praise higher. They've been recently short staffed and are training as of this writing but the dedication and experience of their experienced crew smoothes things out. If you come in when a server named -I believe- Brandon is working you're in for a treat. He brings such joy to his work it affects all around him. If there is a flaw, it would have to be graveyard shift. I have seen that store understaff that shift, put a new cook in the kitchen without the experience necessary to handle a rush AT ALL, and what bad service experiences I have had related to the servers have pretty much all been the few times I've come in on that shift. They clearly don't treat it as important as the other shifts. I haven't tested the Wi-Fi lately. At one point they claimed to have it but it never worked, however I believe ownership has changed since then. Don't know if they even still try to offer it. One of the best things about it though? Atmosphere. Simply wonderful, friendly people and unlike other places where the music always has to be up so loud you can't hear yourself think at this place it is always nicely in the background where it should be so you can carry on conversations and hear yourself think! Just like the good old days before people decided we all need to constantly bombarded with noise wherever we go. All in all, for a good meal on a budget or just the right atmosphere, I'd give them a try. read more

Poorly cooked food. Breakfast: French toast and pancakes both overcooked, burnt at edges. Bacon very limp, barely cooked. Take out order had mixed up the items in the boxes--so at first we thought we hadn't gotten what we ordered. I worked in the restaurant business for decades and breakfast cooking is NOT hard, so I can only conclude that their cook is either lazy or incompetent. Not recommended. I've been to this Denny's a few times in the span of a few years, and every time the service is terrible. They are rude and will give you attitude if you ask them for things even if it isn't busy. We went to this location while the other location is being rebuilt, major mistake. We ordered omelets, mine came with a lot of black grease on the bottom. I tried to eat around the black grease, to no avail. I did get heart burn for what I did eat. This was the first time I left 2/3 of my breakfast. We never were serveD far reagent like this at the other location. If you gO to Denny's go to the one off of gateway street, they are friendlier, the food taste a lot better. And it is cheaper. We order the same thing usually and at this location it cost us four dollars more than the other location. read more
