    The Durango Denny's

We had a short wait to be seated on a busy Sunday morning. The kids enjoyed pancakes. One had the birthday pancakes, and the others enjoyed the chocolate chip ones. I had an omelette with lots of bacon, a few spinach leaves , a few mushrooms, and was basically devoid of Swiss Cheese. The hash browns and English muffins were fine. The other person on our party had a western omelette and enjoyed it. The kiddos had orange juice and the grown ups had the last 2 glasses of tomato juice left in the house. It was a good, solid meal, but not outstanding. The service by Cody was friendly and attentive. Thank you.

Quick walk from many hotels. The food was Great. The service was spot on and our server Cody was fantastic! We would recommend Dennys for breakfast. If you come ask for Cody.

Had a wonderful experience here, even with it being early morning (before 6am) the food were cooked perfectly-to-order (even had gluten-free opts. for those with a sensitivity), had an updated retro feel, such friendly service (Trey was incredibly kind) and very attentive, plus the coffee never emptied :) overall a superb experience!

Food was okay but would have been better if it were hot. Ed was our waiter and he was super sweet. Friendly and grandpa like. This Denny's is located in an ideal location to highway and walking traffic. It is conveniently across street from our hotel. Clean!

We had Christmas breakfast here. There was minimal wait. Waitress was super sweet and I loved that b they have a lot of gluten free options here, like there English muffins. Food was đelicious. Service was amazing. I got a grand slam and it was fresh and tasty.

Unpleasant staff, rude and unnecessarily hostile. You're better off visiting a local diner like CJ's or Durango Diner.

Get there early on Sunday - it gets crowded fast! Service was good, food & coffee were cold. Typical noisy Denny's! Seen better, seen worse!

We came for breakfast durng a trip to visit our son in Durango…read more Very popular, and the parking lot is small, so finding a spot can be challenging. While we were fortunate enough to find a good spot, our son had to park down the street. Despite being crowded on a Sunday morning, and the place being small, with limited seating, we were shown a very nice corner table by the window. Our server was a very nice woman, athletic-looking, with glasses. She did an excellent job of taking care of us, and was very warm and friendly. My wife had a veggie scramble; I had the breakfast burrito. The burrito was large, with eggs, hash browns, and your choice of meat; I chose sausage. It was smothered in a tasty green chile sauce, along with sour cream. Very delicious, though I might ask for a red sauce next time. So far, Rupert's is our favorite breakfast spot in town.

Absolutely packed with flavor and worth every penny. The vanilla latte was excellent too. They have a legitimate espresso setup right there, and you can tell immediately that this isn't just basic restaurant coffee. The latte was smooth, flavorful, and exactly what I was looking for. What really topped it off was the service. Everyone I interacted with was kind, courteous, welcoming, and genuinely seemed happy to help. Even though they were extremely busy, my to-go experience was easy and pleasant. After a frustrating breakfast experience somewhere else in Durango earlier this morning, Rupert's completely turned my morning around. Fantastic food, excellent coffee, great people. I'll absolutely come back whenever I'm in Durango. That breakfast burrito alone is worth the trip. 5/5.

Then I sat there for another 10 minutes and nobody even came back to take my food order, so I finally got up and left. The service was incredibly inattentive and the staff seemed like they couldn't care less. I initially put my name on the waitlist with one of the employees, and when I came back in later to check where I was on the list, the same person didn't even seem to know who I was or remember putting my name down. There only appeared to be a couple people working, and the entire experience felt disorganized from beginning to end. I was really looking forward to having breakfast here based on the reviews, but after 45+ minutes between waiting and sitting at the table without even getting to place a food order, I'd had enough. Warm water was just the icing on the cake. Extremely disappointing experience. I walked out and will not be back.

The crepes are outstanding, truly on par with what you'd expect from a Michelin-star restaurant. Every ingredient is fresh, every plate is beautifully presented, and the attention to detail is remarkable. One of our favorite touches is the stunning flower garden surrounding the wagon. Michel personally tends many of the flowers, and they're often incorporated as beautiful edible garnishes, making each dish feel like a work of art. Michel's Corner is one of those rare places where exceptional food and heartfelt hospitality come together. It's a highlight of every trip to Durango, and we can't recommend it highly enough.

If you are a lover of well done birria, this is your place. Craving authentic Mexican food? Yep, this is your place. We started with their chips and salsa. I think you can tell a lot by the salsa at a place. Lemme just say, I was so very happy! Their salsa wasn't too chunky, not too thin and they are not afraid to season and add some heat - but hey, don't worry it wasn't too hot if you've got a dad like mine who isn't a fan of "too much spice." Such a good omen. I couldn't decide which marg to try so ordered a flight. Best decision ever. Even as I write this, I'm still hard pressed to choose a favorite. They were all so good. Add street tacos, quesadillas for my mom, elote cob, and switch fries for my dad and we were all happy campers. The flavors were obscenely good. Staff were amazing and stopped by to make sure we were always taken care of: fast and friendly. Best combo ever. The place is also super cute! Loved the bar and simplicity of the concept. Switchback has a quiet elegance while be so very casual. Perfect in my book.

May 2026 My wife and…read moreI were visiting Durango for a few days. She took the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad to Silverton, but unfortunately I wasn't able to go because of a medical condition that prevents me from traveling to high altitudes, and the train climbs to around 10,000 feet. After she left on her adventure, I decided to find some breakfast. While I was walking around town, my aunt called. She and my uncle used to vacation in Ouray every year, so she knows the area well. She recommended Jean-Pierre Bakery, so that's where I headed. I was seated right away and ordered a coffee while I looked over the menu. My waitress was very friendly, and we chatted for a while. She even recommended a few places around town that I should check out. I finally decided on the Croque Monsieur (brioche, béchamel, ham, and Swiss cheese) served with a salad. When my meal arrived, it looked fantastic. The sandwich was delicious, rich, and full of flavor. It was my first time trying a Croque Monsieur, and I really enjoyed it. The salad was fresh and crisp, and the vinaigrette paired perfectly with it. After finishing my meal, I couldn't resist ordering a pistachio cream-filled éclair that had caught my eye when I first walked in. It looked beautiful, but unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The pastry was very dry, and the bottom was quite hard. It definitely didn't taste freshly made. The pistachio cream had a nice flavor, but there wasn't very much of it. I mentioned my concerns to my server, and she kindly brought me a chocolate éclair to try instead. It also looked wonderful, but it had the same problem. The pastry tasted old, almost like it had been sitting for a couple of days. I would absolutely return for another Croque Monsieur or to try something else from the breakfast or lunch menu because that part of the meal was excellent. As for the pastries, they certainly look beautiful, but based on my experience, I would probably pass on them next time. This would have been a solid 4 star if those eclair had of been good.
