Waited 35 minutes as a party of one just to get seated. After finally getting a table, I ordered a water, which came out literally warm. Then I sat there for another 10 minutes and nobody even came back to take my food order, so I finally got up and left. The service was incredibly inattentive and the staff seemed like they couldn't care less. I initially put my name on the waitlist with one of the employees, and when I came back in later to check where I was on the list, the same person didn't even seem to know who I was or remember putting my name down. There only appeared to be a couple people working, and the entire experience felt disorganized from beginning to end. I was really looking forward to having breakfast here based on the reviews, but after 45+ minutes between waiting and sitting at the table without even getting to place a food order, I'd had enough. The food was ok, but the hostess and the wait staff acted as though we were a burden. I asked if they had any ranch to go with my buffalo chicken wrap. It felt like I just asked for ketchup to add to my tomahawk filet.... Apparently, the big selling point with this wrap was that the buffalo sauce was fresh made and the only ranch they had was not fresh made / out of a bottle (because it was not very tasty). They gave me a ridiculously small amount. My daughter asked for sweet iced tea and the waitress didn't just say they didn't have it, there wasn't even an option in her head that she could just get the iced tea and use the sugar available on every table. What is better that a quaint College Cafe in a quaint college town. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Everything on the menu sounds delicious, unfortunately I can't have everything in one meal! The Bomb Burrito it's just that, the bomb!! My wife had the Whole Earth scramble with added Avocado and said it was just what she was craving. Timing is everything, this place is popular enough that if you get there after 8:30. Walked here from The DoubleTree for an early breakfast in the cool August morning air. Walked in, saw only 2 other customers at 6:45 AM. Great service: Friendly hosts, who also double as great wait staff: Frequent checks at the table, always with a coffee carafe in hand for a warmer. Ordered the chorizo scrambler (made with nearby Sunnyside chorizo), which is topped with melted cheddar cheese and green chile. I opted for no sour cream, which is also standard, per the menu. Sided with home fries and flat-top warmedflour tortillas, which are fluffy-ish, not thin. You guys, this breakfast is pure Southwest magic. We loved seeing the attention a patron's dog outside received as more, and more and more people were waiting for a table. Get here early! You will not be disappointed. read more

Cute breakfast cafe - we were lucky to snag a table since it is on the smaller side with a few booths and tables. Food came out quickly and the staff were lovely. I had a blueberry pancake and a side of sausage. The pancake was huge and came with whole blueberries - I'm glad I only ordered one because I ended up with leftovers. This is a hidden gem located off the heart of Durango and may have the best breakfast sausage I have ever had! From the welcoming and friendly service, to the quant and small location that makes you feel like you are home everything works and fits. Then to top it off the food is outstanding, it is so good we had it to days in a row. The first day I had the pancake breakfast and the pancakes tasted just like my grandma made and my wife had the French toast breakfast that was truly amazing. The second day I had the biscuits and gravy and my wife as the pancake breakfast. The biscuits and gravy were delicious and fresh, the sausage was spicy and flavorful and the home fries and really good. The cooks could use oversight. Muffins weren't toasted. Half a bag of salt was dumped into the potatoes, and hash browns would have been so much better than what they're serving up. These were just cut up and fried potatoes served before being browned, thus, undercooked, soggy, and woefully salty. Cheese in the omelette wasn't melted and barely present, had no taste. We found this place after looking at Yelp reviews. It seems to be the perfect neighborhood, hole in the wall kind of place. Our waitress was fantastic and knew everyone that walked in! The portions were large, and the food was really filling. We ordered an omelette and a traditional one egg breakfast. The best part were the homemade biscuits that the waitress said was Nana's best recipe. We also thoroughly enjoyed the home fries because they were crispy and perfect. This place got great reviews, however, it was not for us. Very, VERY small and tight. Was told it would be about 10 minute wait, we waited almost 30 minutes. Service was slow and we had to ask for refills on water...twice. I ordered the Nearly Larry's scramble and it was okay. The "signature" home fries were basically just a sliced baked potato with skin on and only one of my slices touched a fryer. The "toasted" English muffin was never even near a toaster. My husband ordered the bacon Benedict. He said the best part was the hollandaise sauce, which is the only reason we give it even 2 stars. Some might call it quaint or cozy, but we just call it old and uncomfortable. I'm sure we probably hit them on a bad day. But we won't be back. read more
