Denny's is a familiar chain which offers a consistent menu, and generally the meals don't vary much from one location to another. I'm a huge fan of breakfast any time during the day, and for this reason, Denny's never disappoints me. The customer service at this location was excellent during my visit, and I don't have any gripes with the promptness in which I was seated, my order taken/provided, or the cashier at exit. Recently, I've noticed Denny's is offering some cool merchandise: gift cards, packaged coffee, mugs, and a child's reindeer cup. With the holidays fast arriving It's nice to see some grab and go gifts are available. read more

Went in and sat at the counter. It was 14 minutes before anyone gave me a menu or water, and as I watch the cooks put plates of food on the shelf, every plate sat there for at least seven minutes. When I got my food it was Cold.... Pancakes, eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, toast, everything was cold except the coffee. $17 for some eggs and hashbrowns and I am less than 10 feet from the cook and they can't even give me my food while it's hot. read more

This was absolutely the worst food I have ever had. I wasn't expecting much to begin with because the best thing they do is breakfast, and practically everyone does that better than Denny's. Our meals were cold. Not even room temperature. Cold. I ordered a steak, medium rare. It came back after being microwaved more rare than any rare steak I've ever had. The broccoli had a sour taste to it and was inedible. My wife's meal was just as bad. The waitress gave us a 15% discount but the cashier didn't even see the note and rushed us through. Denny's restaurant is pretty cookie-cutter when it comes to food. In my experience, the area's that vary drastically from location to location is the service, or sometimes lack thereof. This location has great service, and this is just based off only one of their servers. If they all have the same personality and attitude that this one server has, this may be the best Denny's in the world. The servers name is Anicia. I wouldn't normally use a specific name but her service warrants a well-deserved shout-out. She didn't do much other than perform the tasks any other server does. However, what she did do was perform the tasks with the biggest smile, and with an attitude that can turn lemons into lemonade. Even though it was Saturday night, midnight, and the place was packed with loud and obnoxious customers, she held her smile and did her job like she loves it. I love this place! They are open 24/7, and the food is made so much better than any other Dennys in the area from Davis. Even the ones in Sacramento! I always end up here at 1am in the morning, and get the this steak sandwich with tons of mushrooms and onions and tender juicy steak on a ciabatta roll OR their chicken fried steak is awesome! I love how clean the restaurant is and theres even a stuffed animal toy game picker thingy out by the waiting area. read more

The menus are really gross. The pages stick together because there is something that must've been edible before sticking the pages together. Which is interesting, because the pages are also a little greasy at the same time. I'm not sure how that is working out. Food takes a long time to come out too. A LONG TIME. Food is your usual Denny's fare. It's not good food. It's not terrible food either. It's cheap and open at convenient hours. I don't think I would order pancakes here ever again though. read more

Stopped here for the first time on our way back from San Francisco Monday. It's right off I-80. This is a large, clean Denny's. We were seated right away and received attentive service. The employees we encountered were all friendly. The food is the same as you will find at Denny's everywhere. I have no complaints about it and would stop in here again. read more

He finally gets here, asked what we would like to drink and if we were ready to order said "yeah " walked away to get drinks...... then returned to get order. Ehh I think all chain diner food is about the same. Honestly I don't even remember what I had that night because it was that unimpressionable. But the one thing I do remember is the poor service we received. So this review is only dedicated to the service we received. The moment we step inside Denny's we notice that there were about 5 groups sitting and 3 waitress working. After about 6 minutes of us standing by the podium waiting to be seated (and two of the waitresses walked passes us twice! ) one waitress finally decides to tell us to wait (as If we weren't this whole time !) and that she'll seat us in a bit . I said: " it's okay we can just seat ourselves." to which she responds, " no! Don't do that. " Ummm.. Okay. I guess I won't. After being seated, another waitress comes up and THROWS down two menus ( even though there were 4 of us!) and hastily says : " I'll be right there with you.. HOPEFULLY if there's time. " wtf is that suppose to mean? I know that there was one other table she was serving, but the way she said it was really rude - with an emphasis on the word "HOPEFULLY". My visits and experiences with this Denny's have been excellent! To clarify, the two times I have been here were after 12AM and with one server, a tall young adult spike-haired Hispanic-looking male, who is hilarious and has given my friends and I excellent service. Each time, I have tipped him over 20% because he was just that good! SO try going at late night haha Food: B+ I have tried like at least 4 other Denny's in NorCal region. This Dixon Denny's takes the cake for the best food so far! I have ordered the Loaded Potato Steak Skillet (discontinued already :( ) and Spicy Cowboy Chopped Steak. Also have tried the desserts Pancake Puppies yum! The hot Skillets are SO delicious! If you are open to try new things, try a SKILLET! It comes on a sizzling hot plate and it is delicious! Location/Ambiance: B Located in Dixon, the drive to Stratford was easy and there is ample parking space. The interior of Denny's is very clean, neat, great lighting, and spacious! Service: A My "A" goes out specifically to the one male server who works late nights. I went there twice with two different friends and they both LOVED him as a server! The first time I went there he was very accommodating and friendly. However during that first time, there were many customers and luckily they had a cook-in-training, he told me. So not a good chance to really know him, ok. Second time around, I walked in with my other friend and went straight to the restroom after telling my friend what I wanted to drink. While I was in the restroom, my friend told me the server immediately brought out our drinks without even asking! The server was so attentive that he caught what we wanted to drink. My friend and I were so impressed! He came around a few minutes later and took our orders. He was so accommodating that he let me replace my tea drink for the $8 Spicy Cowboy drink too! Awesome! He always came back a few times to ask us how our awesome meal was. Whenever we asked him for something, he got it right away. The second time around we had a chance to converse with him and the server even cracked some jokes. I am so embarrassed to NOT remember his name right now since I have already seen him twice. I will post it RIGHT NEXT to my letter grade once I find out next time. On another note, there's this middle-aged hostess or manager who has worked the same hours twice and was never as great. She seemed like a manager, not sure, but the first time I went, she rushed my friend and I to finish! Second time, she was eating and did not even bother to work the whole time. I don't know what is her deal but I am so glad that there is a GREAT server at Denny's! Prices: B+ I never eat at Denny's WITHOUT a coupon. we have eaten here more than once. the food is always what you would expect from a denny's, and it is very cheap (2,4,6 menu is great). However the service here is terribly sub par!! this morning we went to Denny's for brunch. it was about 11 a.m., monday afternoon, not busy at all. We walked in and to our surprise all the waiting benches were full..yet over half the restaurant tables were empty? All of the people waiting looked very unhappy. One group of people got up and left without saying a word. Another couple stood up and angrily let the hostess know "we're going to Ihop". We stood there for probably 15 minutes. I asked my husband if we should just leave and go to Ihop too? It was getting ridiculous...no one had been seated so far, AND no one had spoken to us while we were waiting. He told me that he thought we were about to be seated. The hostess continued to just stand there looking oblivious to anything going on around her (and she wasn't even a teenage girl, she looked in her late 30s or 40s!). A group of teenage boys came in several minutes after us and sat down. Then the hostess grabbed some menus looked at as and said "just two? Are you on the list?" And we said no...There were three parties waiting I didn't know you needed a "list" to keep up with that. she looked at the group of boys & one older man waiting alone and asked us all "well...which one of you were here first?" My husband and I actually laughed out loud. This hostess had been standing there the ENTIRE time, it's her job to pay attention to who gets there first... Even I paid enough attention to know who came in in what order. And to ask a group of people "Who got here first"? Well it was completely ridiculous. We actually just laughed and walked out, and we did end up going to Ihop (where we spotted the other groups of people who had left earlier & we all laughed). We were much much happier with our service and food at Ihop. Will never return to this Denny's again! read more

This Denny's handled the free Grandslam day with flying colors. They even let me substitute my bacon for turkey bacon. Our wait time was less than 2 minutes and the food was served faster than any normal visit to a Denny's I've ever experienced. My Boyfriend and I were in and out in about 30 minutes, which was perfect for a quick (and cheap!) stop en route to SF. Great job guys!
