This review applies only to the Denny's on Herndon and Clovis because I have tried other Denny's and have had a very different experience. This Denny's stands out in many aspects the food servers, especially Francia and Daniel, are outstanding, caring individuals. They treat their customers as if they were family. They try to please the customer with any special requests. Most restaurants are not nearly as accommodating. Then there is the food, I enjoy the loaded veggie omelet. I have never had eggs that were so perfectly folded into an omelette and done just right. The vegetables were so fresh and cooked to perfection. Even my tomato slices were fresh and not tasteless like those I've had other restaurant. The Cook's take pride and what they make and it shows! My family has had the spaghetti and meatballs- (unbelievably delicious!)- country fried steak, the hamburgers and many breakfast items. Every dish has surpassed our expectations. You cannot go wrong in ordering anything from their menu. This Denny's has great management and Gloria and an owner who obviously cares about taking care of his customers. I highly recommend making a stop at this Denny's. The only negative is that you will want to keep going back for more! read more

Thurs., March 24th 2022, 3pm We have eaten there numerous times breakfast, good so we keep going back to the well. Today, we fell into the well and not in a good way. Pot Roast, kitchen didn't have the beef gravy, it was cold, when cut into the beef was aged. I had Chicken Steak, it was like warm, aged tasting, the sides lukewarm mashed potatoes and paper thin zucchini, Our bread were toasted to a burn,, but we were so hungry we ate this cold, aged, food with burnt toast.$40.00. I explained quality control to the waitress, as she said, oh I had no idea. I explained that expiration dates should be checked on frozen foods and both Meats appeared agef,dry, tasteless.Then I explained temperature checks with a food thermometer before delivering the plate. Zero star rating. Absolutely no service. They sat us in the back and we waited for about 7 minutes. No waitress entered the room until after 5 minutes. She told us she'd be right with us but that never happened however she did have time to give checks to other tables. Got up and walked out!!!! This was the worst dining experience all the food came out cold fries were cold and slimy, one burger came out with no bottom bun ! What was the fix ??? Take it back slap a bun on the now cold burger then try to pass it off as a whole new burger. 20 min for a refill . Went to Denny's for breakfast on Saturday. The service was horrible it took forever to get our food, the server didn't bring out the salsa I asked for when I ordered, she never came to refill our drinks and the food was so friggin greasy, I ordered the cheese steak omlette, it was dripping with grease literally. The toast was a joke it was two tiny pieces not even a full slice of bread. I mean why bother giving you toast if it looks like that, I paid $12.99 for this? Okay, Denny's isn't my "go to" place, but in a pinch its at least reliable with respect to "no food surprises". Which is what I got, no food surprise. Yelp posting is not my thing, but I felt this deserved some accolades. My server was "TJ" and he made the normal Denny's experience much better. He was polite, nice and most of all witty. I appreciated his help with the menu, and more than anything TJ made a "typical" experience worthwhile. I may not go back to Denny's, but if I do it will be to this one, and I will be asking for TJ as my server. read more

The restaurant had ants all over. The water had some nasty black stuff floating in it and the tea was super old. If you're a tea drinker you understand what I mean by old tea. This was by far the worst experience at a Dennys that we have had. The waitress (even though I don't agree with mask) wore her mask below her nose, she carried the serving tray under her armpit which grossed me out because she was wearing a tank top, she also decided to go behind the counter and drink her beverage instead of bringing ours. I had to ask for our drinks, our silverware twice and the rest of our food after she brought out the main dishes earlier . Then when we went to pay another server was complaining that he couldn't wait to clock out to our server who was working the cash register. I would offer zero stars if I could, and from reading the other reviews about this Dennys location my experience there is the norm. First My waitress brought three drinks with only two straws and after about 10 mins later came by to take our order where I asked if I could have a third straw for my third drink, she actually glanced in the floor and table as if to say I have them to you. She said "uhhh okkkkk" and came back 5 mins later with a straw. When my meal arrived it was frozen in the middle and all I ordered was a cheese quesadilla. I asked for the item to be removed and not replaced. As my wife and I were sitting and I were waiting for the bill we saw two other tables sending food back to the kitchen. After waiting 20 minutes more for the completed check and not a single refill in the now empty ice tea glasses (which we asked for refills during our meal) we decided to just walk up to the counter to pay. When we were tallied up the cold quesadilla was still there and the manager at that point took it off after the server acknowledged the issue with the food. I mentioned to the manager that there was a problem with the communication between servers and cooks (definitely not chefs there) and she just said "I will talk to them." No I'm sorry no offer of discount nothing to even try and make it better. I see now from all the reviews that this has been the norm here for sometime now. This location is a franchise, you can pretty much know from that it is not going to be up to corporate standards. And sadly that is true with this location. I frequently place my orders to-go, because the service in store is so slow. The staff means well, but the owners constantly under-staff this location. You can regularly go in and see one waiter/waitress working the entire place, frantically. The manager will be "hiding" in the back and one cook will try his best to get food out. Due to this you will find that phone orders get lost or never entered. Wait to pickup food or pay bills takes forever and everyone working at this location treats this as just another day. I've complained more than once to the corporate office, they reply that the concerns were referred to the franchise owner. You'll never hear a word back from them. If you want better service, drive a few minutes to the one on Shaw Avenue. Which is too bad, because this one is so close! read more

We entered the restaurant at 2am and did not even speak to a server about something to drink until after 2:30am, which we then ordered our meals, and then it was 3am and we still didn't get our food. When we asked to get our food to go, the manager came out and said that the service was so slow because they only had one cook working. On a Saturday night. We still had for wait approximately 10 minutes even after being told out order was done when we said we wanted to take our food to go. In the end, we were not well take care of, and our usual experience with this place is something slow and and not well taken care of. They are understaffed, which isn't necessarily the staff's problem, but the shift manager and owner should see to this matter. Poor service does not make repeat patronage seem likely. As well, my friend's order was wrong. Let me clarify as well that this is not about Denny's itself. I know there's a lot of trash reviews on here, but let's be real you're just complaining to complain or looking for a free meal.
