We thought about using the drive-through but that line was extremely long with oversized trucks and SUVs and such so we decided to park and walk in ; the dining area was surprisingly not busy. Maybe three tables were occupied; we were able to order immediately. I ordered a cheeseburger with onion rings and a Sprite and my wife ordered a cheeseburger french fries and an unsweet tea with extra ice. Although the kitchen was preparing food for all the vehicles outside, we received our food in less than 10 minutes . I noticed my burger tasted a bit odd because the pickles and lettuce were quite chilled, and yet the beef patty seemed lukewarm at best and it did not even attempt to melt the cheese that had been placed upon it; same situation for my wife's hamburger. The cheese just sat there on the hamburger patty, not budging, not melting not getting gooey just sitting there. While her french fry order was hot and fresh, my onion ring order was rather lukewarm and crispy and yet also somewhat rubbery. Kind of weird for a fried product unless it had been fried and then possibly reheated in the microwave and served to me. It became obvious to both of us that the kitchen staff had simply pre-cooked some hamburger patties and set them aside and plopped them on hamburger buns and then they added the chilled mustard, lettuce, onions, and pickles. I hope that someone from the restaurant actually reads this review because across the highway I'd be willing to bet that there are several eating establishments that are about to go in providing us with more dining options.

Sometimes you expect a really large portion then feel disgusting but the amount they gave was just right. They all came with a side of fruit and yogurt. When I cited the error she indignantly snapped, "That's what you ordered!" Strike 2! (who argues with civil paying customers?) I said, " I'm not trying to be any trouble. I just want what I ordered." at which point the older woman told her to give me a side of Black-Eyed Peas, which at this point seemed completely academic. We found a table, found our way to the drinks and also to the Barbecue Sauce and various condiments. I really wish I could say that this was the best Barbecue that I ever put in my mouth but unfortunately, I have to say just the opposite. Strike 3! This is singularly the worst barbecue experience that I have ever had anywhere in Texas or elsewhere in the country. The Brisket was gray, dry, and there wasn't a smoke ring in sight. My wife loves Sausage and she is not as discriminating about it as I am, but she said that was the worst Sausage she ever bought from a Barbecue Restaurant in her life, and she's the lifelong Texan in this couple, not me. The staff was friendly and there was ample parking in the back for this place and the gas station it is attached to.

Based on her recommendations we tried the bacon (Yum!!) Biscuits (don't miss!!) ranch potatoes, hash browns & the chicken honey biscuits (wow!!). Portion sizes are large freshly made. They know what they are doing here. The owner was raised in the area, trained at prestigious Le Cordon Bleu and returned back into her roots to open the establishment, worth a day trip to see the bluebonnets and take in a meal. My mom and I both ordered it, and it was so dry and tough, we just took it to go for our dogs. My mom originally ordered the filet mignon, but they were out. So, she switched to chicken. The grilled chicken came with that rice, grilled veggies, and choice of Cole slaw or salad. My mom got salad, which was good. The rest of us got slaw, and it was also good. I thought rice and veggies were weird sides and would have preferred a baked potato. The other two people with us got the grilled salmon and the grilled catfish. Both were very good.
