Such a cute, old-school burger shop with unbeatable prices! Here's what we tried: the BLT was absolutely delicious--loaded with crispy bacon, and the toast was buttery and soft. It came with a side of fried okra, which was just as tasty! We also ordered a cheeseburger and a shrimp basket--both came in big portions, and everyone at our table enjoyed their food. To top it all off, we had a root beer float and vanilla malts--both were amazing! Our only complaint was how hot it was inside, which made things a little uncomfortable. But honestly, everything else was so good, we didn't mind too much. We'll definitely be back! There's a reason for the long lines--the food is fantastic, and the prices can't be beat!

Came in for a weekday lunch. Small place and gets really crowded so come early or late. Double Burger - $5 (5/5) 2 big patties with lettuce, tomato, and pickles. Great value for what you get, much better than your fast food chains. Chicken Tender Basket - $7.50 (3.5/5) Either the chicken is breaded in store or it's a very good source. Crispy outside, juicy inside, exactly what you'd want in a chicken strip. The fries that came with the basket were subpar crinkle cut. Not too much flavor, crisp, or quantity. Chili Cheese Dog - $3 (3/5) Pricy for what you get. Nothing special, would not get. Sweet Potato Fries - $3 (3/5) Nothing to write home about. Burger and chicken tenders were amazing for a fast food place. The crinkle cut fries and sweet potatoes were what the kids call "mid" these days, will opt for seasoned curly fries next time. Going to stick with burger over hot dogs as well.

We're in town to visit the bluebell factory and stopped for lunch. I chose it based on the reviews and was still surprised by how good it was. Finding the location and parking was easy. The location is small but we didn't have trouble finding a table for 2 of us. Ordering was easy and the food came out quickly. I got a cheese burger and tots. The cheeseburger was the best fast food burger I've ever had. The meat isn't paper thin and it was cooked perfectly. The tots were fried perfectly! Every single one was crunchy and not greasy! My boyfriend got the steak finger basket and they too were all fried to perfection. I got a strawberry shake to go and it hit the spot. Everything is super affordable and delicious. We already plan to go back for lunch tomorrow before we leave to try other items. Highly recommend!!

Yelp steered us here after we picked up our daughter from summer camp. She was craving a chocolate shake and a hamburger before we drove back to DFW. The dairy bar did not disappoint! The parties were huge and homemade. The price was fantastic! We saw 8 cars in the drive thru when we pulled up and probably 6-7 in line inside. Orders came out fast and hot! We will be back!

Name a place where you can get a HEFTY burger this good for $5, I will wait. Now, I grew up in Bellville, just a stone's throw from this place, and only just now ventured out from Houston to give it a try amid the aftermath of the Derecho in May 2024, and being able to sit among smiling friends and families was so healing. This place is dirt cheap and as good as you can get for what you're getting. While placing my order, I noticed the kitchen is SPOTLESS, in spite of a line wrapping around the building and a dining room full of folks. Didn't have to wait too long for piping hot chili cheese tots and my well-done burger on a perfectly toasted bun on exclusively unmarked, disposable paper packaging. The staff weren't over-the-moon friendly, and instead were focused on taking your order quickly, making your order properly, and getting it out to you quickly. Well-oiled. So grateful Brenham has a go-to mid-tier burger joint like this. Every town's gotta have it. Oh, and I'm still waiting.

During our visit to Brennan, we thought we'd grab lunch so we looked to Yelp to guide us. We found some great pictures of the Dairy Bar so we decided to try it. Hubby got a patty melt and sweet potato fries. I had the regular hamburger. It's drive thru experience with a small inside. You order at a window and drive around for them to bring you your order. The food was hot and fresh. There isn't much seasoning if any on the burger so you taste the beef. The sweet potato fries were really good. They are made from fresh potatoes and are delicious. Finally, you definitely get your moneys worth. You will not find a burger for this price so it is definitely worth it! Stop by and try it.

Decent burger spot in Brenham. I was blown away by the price and the portion: $3.50 for a single patty hamburger! Where can you still find this price these days?? The burger is big and very filling, patty is thick but well cooked. If you're a meat lover, you can consider getting a double patty. Warning: it's HUGE, so come with a big appetite for that. Curly fries: I saw so many reviews raving about the seasoned curly fries, but I was a bit disappointed. They were a bit soft/soggy. Not sure if it was because it was closed in a bag, but it shouldn't have got soft that fast from carrying from the counter to our table. I would probably try the regular fries next time. Price: No where can beat the price. Check my menu pictures to see more options. Parking is not too big, looks like there's always a spot for someone coming in. They also have a drive-thru window with cars constantly pulling in. Wait time was not too long before our food came out. If you pass by Brenham and look for a place for a quick and filling lunch, come to Dairy Bar for a traditional hamburger and fries.

$3.50 for a hamburger!!! If you're craving a classic and filling burger, Dairy Bar is your spot. Great portion for its price. The patty is huge and if you're a big meat eater, then you'll be blown away by the double meat. I got the curly fries, which were quite underwhelming. They were quite stale. If you want a side of fries, I recommend the regular fries (some pieces flown into my bag of curly, much more crispier). It's a small restaurant with a drive thru, so the wait time might be a bit long. For larger groups, there are outside seating as well. All in all, I would go out of my way to Dairy Bar, but if I'm in the area, I don't see why not.

Great little spot on the outskirts of downtown Brenham. Small dining area that stays busy and honestly I can see why. The food is great along with the service. The chicken fried steak is a solid size and has good flavor, and for 10 dollars you can't beat it. The burger has that old school ma and pop burger stand vibe, and the jalapeños had a kick to them. If you are in the area stop in seriously and get a small or big bite to eat because it's worth it.

Somewhat new to Bellville, the area. When I'd pass by I'd see all these cars lined up and a full parking lot. Finally after being in the area for a year I decided to stop and give it a try. The place is small so I did drive thru. They have outdoor seating but with this weather that's a quick no. It was a bit of a hassle to make a right and not have a whole line waiting behind you so had to make a turn around. Once in line I had maybe 4 cars in front but that took a few mins. The girl at the window was nice, quick and friendly. Then it was several other mins once the order was taken and I had to wait on the other side of the building to get my meal. Where do I begin? The total price for a regular burger, chili cheese fries plus drink came out to about $9 something almost ten bucks. I saw people eating their burgers through the windows and thought Whoa! this burger will be big. To my disappointment it was fairly small. The meat was a bit thick but was hard to swallow from it being over cooked. I'd take a sip of my drink but by the time I got the meal my soda was pretty much gone. Like someone else said in another review- It was just a basic tasting burger. The fries- Idk if they cook the fries and just let em sit for a while, overcook or something is wrong with them. Were they a bit crispy? Sure but they had this weird chewy bite to them. The chili was a bit salty and I like salt but my lips are still burning from the salt. The only good thing was the cheese.

However, we felt like our food was just OK. We got the calamari and there wasn't anything unique about it, but it was good. My Caesar salad was a little odd. It did not taste like Cesar at all. The lasagna was just ok. We were quite disappointed in the chicken fried steak. It did not seem like it was seasoned at all, the batter was very bland and unfortunately, adding salt and pepper didn't do much because it would've been better if the batter itself was seasoned. I would return to this location, but maybe not have my hopes up so much to have a good meal. The prices are fair for what you get.

We had a few people cancel before coming in. Once again, nobody answered the phone before we arrived. The server wasn't inviting when we arrived. He said, you told us a table for 15. We ended being a party of 9. We had mediocre food and rude service. They weren't friendly, our server took our order and never came back to check on us. We could hear how he spoke to other customers too. We did actually get our water refilled from one of the other staff. The server didn't offer us any dessert. We felt rushed to leave. One guest asked for dessert and he said they one had one type of dessert. The staff at the hotel wasn't friendly either. We stopped by to look around and not one person spoke to us. We left and went to Must Be Heaven for dessert. We should've gone there for lunch but we wanted to support another local business.

We have noticed this place several times on our travels back and forth between our home NW of…read moreAustin and our grandchildren in Houston. I always try to be supportive of small, locally owned businesses everywhere I go. Look at some of my other reviews, it will bear this out. For once, it wasn't a Sunday when we were passing by and we weren't in a hurry, so we thought we'd stop for lunch. It looks like everything you'd expect for a barbecue restaurant. Everything rustic and country. There was a menu painted on the wall with no prices anywhere. They have a nice selection of sides in meats. My wife ordered the 2 Meat Plate with Brisket and Sausage, Potato Salad and Pinto beans. I was thinking about Pork Butt; however, when I saw it , I decided to pass. Strike 1! I ordered the Brisket Plate with Black -Eyed Peas and Coleslaw. When the young woman handed it to me, It had Pintos on it rather than Black-Eyed Peas. When I cited the error she indignantly snapped, "That's what you ordered!" Strike 2! (who argues with civil paying customers?) I said, " I'm not trying to be any trouble. I just want what I ordered." at which point the older woman told her to give me a side of Black-Eyed Peas, which at this point seemed completely academic. We found a table, found our way to the drinks and also to the Barbecue Sauce and various condiments. I really wish I could say that this was the best Barbecue that I ever put in my mouth but unfortunately, I have to say just the opposite. Strike 3! This is singularly the worst barbecue experience that I have ever had anywhere in Texas or elsewhere in the country. The Brisket was gray, dry, and there wasn't a smoke ring in sight. It was no better than the Pork Butt had looked to me, in fact it was probably worse. My wife loves Sausage and she is not as discriminating about it as I am, but she said that was the worst Sausage she ever bought from a Barbecue Restaurant in her life, and she's the lifelong Texan in this couple, not me. I see mixed reviews out there besides my own and I'm wondering if perhaps the problem here is just inconsistency with the food because other than that and the little service blip, this wasn't a horrible meal but it was pretty far from a good one. Sorry Nathan's, I so wanted to like you.
