Service was horrible!! I brought in shopping bags and asked if I could put them in a corner and the manager was so rude and said, I guess. They sat us and we waited 15 minutes and no one approached us. The manager behind the bar just stared at us very rudely. She spoke to several wait staff that only had 2 other tables. Three wait staff sat in the front on their phones. One walking over to the table next to us and asked how they were doing then walked right past us and ignored us. We got our things, told them how rude they are and then left. The manager told the wait staff to ignore what we said to them. This is a place a frequented once a week or once every other week, but since new owners, this place has gone downhill, food and service. Will not visit again. read more

Let me preface this by saying that I went into BT Longhorn to get a steak, and didn't end up ordering a steak, so if there are good reviews on the steak that is served here, please refer to them if you want to know more about the steak. The ambience was about right for what they were going for, with a saloon-like feel. The staff were generally friendly. The music and TVs weren't too loud. Not bad there. Now... I ordered the Seafood Fettuccine, which had shrimp, crawfish and andouille sausage in a seafood type sauce. Kind of a cross between fettuccine alfredo and pastalaya, if you get my drift. The seafood, pasta and sausage were all cooked generally fine. What surprised me was how bland the dish was. The whole dish generally needed salt, (which I applied, and it did help) and it was screaming for some personality, in the form of Cajun seasoning, Louisiana hot sauce, or probably both. I guess if any cream was added to the sauce, it really diluted the flavor. The garlic bread that they served with it did the best it could to help. Keep in mind, I'm paying $30.58 for this project and a glass of sweet tea. On top of that, my debit card gets charged for another table by mistake. My waitress did apologize and reversed the payment, so that I would keep the money. I mean...it was good enough to get me to eat here the first time. But I'd be hard-pressed if it convinced me to eat here a second time, even if for a steak. With food prices getting higher and higher these days, I have to get pretty choosy about where I go for restaurants. This one...IDK. read more

TLDR - Service is alright. Atmosphere is nice. Food is definitely sub par. Service was good but everything else was highly lacking. Food - My wife ordered the Shrimp and pasta Alfredo, all the shrimp had tails with shells on them. She had to pick through her pasta and cut the tails off the shrimp. The shrimp was also very fishy. She also said the pasta tasted like TV dinner pasta. She mentioned that zatarain's frozen TV dinner pasta could be considered better. My children order the kids steak for $11. They received a 2oz peice of steak. My youngest order Mac and cheese as a side which turned out to be over cooked craft Mac and cheese and they charged a $2 upcharge for it which we were not told about beforehand. I ordered what was supposed to be a 14oz New York strip. What I got was definitely not 14oz and while it had decent flavor, it was not worth anywhere near the $36 they charged. The state came with two sides, I ordered asparagus and onion rings. I got four onion rings and two asparagus. The onion rings were bland without much flavor. And the asparagus were half soft and half crunchy. We also ended up ordering some drinks. My wife enjoyed her margarita. The first beer I ordered was a Shiner Bock which was sour and definitely did not taste like a Shiner. I ordered two Crawford bocks after that which tasted fine. Ultimately our bill was $115. We needed food after visiting the Blue Bell Ice Creamery and this place looked promising. When I entered I felt like I was back in the old west at a fancy saloon. I ordered a bowl of gumbo and a salad. The salad was crisp and cold. The vinaigrette dressing was sweet and tangy. The seafood gumbo was full of seafood and had a very pleasant flavor. Parking might be difficult and you may have to walk a few blocks before finding a space. The waitstaff was pleasant and the food arrived quickly. Quality restaurants are slim in Brenham. The BT burger is hit and miss here. Bun is from a supplier in Houston and those are great. Meat is hit and miss on quality and taste. CF chicken is tender but zero flavor. Service - when a customer says we would like to order the meal with the drink order- you don't tell them to wait and go clean a table. That's why I called to make another reservation for my upcoming trip while overnighting at the Ant Street Inn. I'm extremely disappointed this time around with their service. I called to make a reservation and they refuse to take one during the Holiday Market weekend but they do at other times. Their comment was people get upset with them holding tables!!! WHAT, isn't that what a reservation is for??? If anything take a deposit like some other restaurants and if someone no-shows within 15 min of their scheduled time, they lose their deposit! I make reservations constantly on OpenTable and direct with restaurants and have never heard of such! Anybody with any sense knows you should make a reservation at a nice restaurant or you're taking your chances of getting a table...shouldn't be the other way around IMO. read more

Love the ambiance of this wonderful old building. We had reservations at 4pm for 14 people. We walked around the town square and we walked down to the restaurant and were 45 minutes early. The young gentleman the host said no problem. The manager came to the table just as we were getting ready to sit down and starts pointing out we were early and it got so uncomfortable I asked if we needed to come back in 30 minutes. The host said it was fine and continued to put menus out for us. Our waitress was great, and took care of our table by herself, all orders were correct, food was hot. The food was just okay, everyone said nothing had flavor but the onion rings and philly sandwich was well liked. Steaks were good. Chicken fried steak the crust just fell off of it and soggy, mashed potatoes had too much garlic and I think the potatoes au gratin were mashed potatoes w/ cheese mixed in. The manager never came to check on us. But again our waitress was great! I do get the importance of reservations and wait staff is scheduled so for that I do hold responsibility but when we arrived there were only 3 tables w 2 ppl at each table and plenty of wait staff was there. Manager just rubbed us the wrong way and should work on making their patrons feel welcome! Next time we go to Brenham I think we will branch out and eat elsewhere. read more

On August 13th at approximately 12:00 noon, my wife and I decided to stop in for lunch. We've been here probably more than 20 times over the last few years, so we were looking forward to having a good meal, and a pleasurable experience. We ordered our food, and one cocktail, which was decent as usual. When we finished our food, we asked the waiter for one more cocktail, a to go box, and the check. After about thirty minutes had passed, I asked the waiter what happened to our drink, the to go box, and the check. I told him we had been waiting for about thirty minutes, and he proceeded to tell me that the bar girl was waiting tables, and had a party of twenty in the back. I told him it would have been courteous to be told something, or anything, explaining what the situation was. I guess he went and told the bar girl , because she came back with an attitude cussing and slamming drinks onto the bar while she glared at us. I then stood up and said I don't want you touching anything else for me while you're cussing and having an attitude, and to just give me my check. She told me fuck you, so I cursed her right back. At that point we had a shouting match in front of all the other customers in the restaurant. This is disgusting and disgraceful behavior from one of their employees, and it will be even more disgusting on the restaurants part, if they continue to let her work there. Even if I was wrong, it's not professional behavior for an employee to act the way she did. We paid my bill just to get out and away from the drama, and when I left, I found out I was charged for the cocktails that I didn't receive. This is the worst behavior I've experienced in my life, and if they do not fire this employee, I will make it my full time job to bring this incident to light. This is disgraceful to the city of Brenham, and to me a disabled combat veteran. My fellow veterans, you should not support this restaurant and their scumbag employees they hired! If this woman continues to work there, then it shows the lack of respect they have for veterans, and their community. I will update this review after I speak with the owner. And if the owner is reading this, please go back and watch the footage of your employee slamming my drinks on the bar, and cussing me!!! I may be wrong for cursing her back, but the customer is always right, and she was not professional at all!!! It says a lot about this establishment!!! Update, I've called the restaurant several times to talk to the owner, and the employees continually inform me that they are not there, and they will relay the message. No one will call me back, and I'm left wondering if the employees are working together to sweep the issue under the rug. I have never been treated like this in my life. If the waitress can't handle the stress of her job without having psychotic outburst, then she doesn't need to be working in customer service at all. This girl is a thug, and this restaurant is disgraceful for allowing her to work there. BT is one of the highest rated restos in Brenham in the most well-read pub for tourists like us meditatin' on holiday through Brenham. The main selling point you usually read that elevates this: the only resto installed in a historic saloon in the town. Like, gimme all of dem Back to the Future III olde country and/or western vibes and good moods, the most absolute unit of the entire trilogy - fite me if u believe otherwise. BT is set along the "good restaurant row" in the historic district within a block or two or three (small town blocks, not NYC blocks) of all of the other joints you are reading about in those tourist pubs trying to tell you what's what. When you walk in the hostess stand is capably managed by an adorable college age twink. This is one of the main selling points you do not read about from travel mags because they stay out of commentary like that what with their corporate sponsors and all moderating their sinful content. Knowledge of Shakespeare would likely be shaky in the public education around these parts, but the kind of local you would trust to repair fallen fences or shoe horses real goodly if the need for your steed ever arose. After we had been seated and the eye candy returned to the hostess stand, the service level at the resto entirely nipped off to the loo and never quite returned even in leisure-force. Our waitress provided poor service and largely ignored our entire room. Side note, there are only two rooms in this resto. Yes, this is still a four star review so keep reading because even that could not dull my sparkle or harsh my legendary mellow for this joint. After taking our beer o'clock order and the bartender poured up drank, we watched the beers sweat in the sun for an interminable period without seeing the waitress ever again. I am TABC certified (for an annual charitable event on Easter Sunday where I pour vodka into, onto, and around everything for charity) and the lieutenant peer-pressured me into it, but I just put on the big boy pants and walked up to the bartender. Asked her if these pretty little darlings sweating in the sun were ours. Indeed they were. I asked if I could escort them to the Nova Scotian steak and beer locker which would know what to do with these. She said I could take them to there. So I grabbed these little pretties and escorted them back to the table for manhandling. The waitress appeared, I don't know, 15 minutes later. Long after a beer that has been sitting out should have been brought to a table. She never even commented about how the beers got from the bartender to the table. Because she knows she played no role in that. If that was a smoke break, that was one hell of a smoke break since she did not smell like smoke. And the resto is not that big. The waitress could not have been like "Oh, I went inside a really colourful armoire and wintered in Narnia, forgiveth me!" Because that would not have added up over the summer time here in the hellscape of Texas summer. One nearby resto is known for turning into a church on Sunday. Another resto is known for having numerous vegan options. Another resto is known for being disparagingly New-American """upscale""" for this county. This resto right here is, and should be, known for their burgers. Their burgers are fire fam. Listen to your pal Randers, Afghan-Ran, Randy Bobandy about these burgers. The Ultimate BT Burger arrives loaded down with a wet slather of BBQ sauce, diced onions, crispy jalapeño slices, and thinly shredded cheddar cheese. She runs you $10.99 with a side of seasoned fries or your choice of onion rings for only the truest Shrek among us. First off, this burger is huge and beautiful. That isn't BBW in English but it is in other languages throughout the multiverse. The meat is perfectly seared. The onions are present without being tripping the lights too Shrek-fantastic. The crispy jalapeño slices are largely the showstopper providing the character, texture, and flavour that the young men write Civil War-era letters home about: "This morning finds me wracked by the fiery pangs of your absence." The seasoned freedom fries are a whole other thing to savour. They are perfectly seasoned. Whatever this spice is, it is peak spice. Each of the individual freedom fries is classic thick Frylock without being the flaccid, disappointing bad-fry that is the hallmark of fast food cardboard sleeves and """locally""" owned bidness that try to replicate that failure pile of sadness. Besides the delightful hostess stand greeting and inviting you in warmly out of the fiery elements, the service leaves a lot to be desired. But if you are in the mindspace to stroll through flavour country, population you and the lieutenant, order one of these here burgers with a side of the seasoned freedom fries and you will be having a mighty fine time. Recently, my wife, my sister and her fiancé had dinner at this establishment. We were promptly seated at a table but unfortunately, I found our table much too close to other tables. It was rather cramped. We all ordered beer and I had one that was locally crafted and had a hint of Citrus perhaps orange in it it was quite nice. I am on a low cholesterol diet. I opted for the grilled salmon, grilled asparagus and house salad. All other members of my party opted for the chicken, fried steak, cream, gravy, and assorted sides. I found my salad to be quite small, and lacking in both lettuce croutons, and I considered asking for an additional container of ranch dressing as the dressing that I receive was extremely watery; My salad only had two croutons. It was deplorable. Our entrées arrived before we were able to finish our salads. I guess they wanted to clear our table as it was a Friday night and they wanted to get more people into the restaurant. My fish, though flavorful was rather small portion of one strip of grilled salmon possibly 4 bites ; I guess the other members of the party enjoyed their chicken fried steaks and cream gravy, and Salt and pepper and all that stuff; our waiter was barely adequate and not much help in knowing the menu. We don't plan on making it a second trip although parking was not a problem, there was a lot of trash on the street and in garbage containers in front of the restaurant. Perhaps restaurant staff should take the initiative to make sure the garbage containers are cleaned out more regularly because obviously the city of Brenham is not doing an adequate job keeping the streets tidy. read more

Around lunchtime on the 13th of August, I was eating lunch with a group of friends. I don't know what happened, but the girl that was serving drinks behind the counter started slamming glasses on top of the bar, and was cursing about one of the patrons that was sitting next to me. She was very loud and disruptive with her behavior, and made us very uncomfortable. we were here celebrating my friends birthday, so we were expecting to have a pleasant conversation and a well cooked meal. Instead, we had to hear her ranting and raving to the point that the man she was referring to, stood up and started yelling at her back. He kept asking for his check so he could leave, and they acted like they didn't want to give it to him. I don't know what happened, but we will never return to an establishment that allows this kind of behavior from there employees again. We were scared for our safety first most, but were also disgusted by the behavior of the young lady running the bar. The man yelling back at her was very irate, but he had justifiable reason for being upset, as nobody wants to be treated like that. We will not be coming back in the future, and I will advise the people of Washington county not to support a restaurant that employs people that don't know how to act professionally. read more

Best steak at a restaurant in Washington County! Order the Flat Iron Steak!!! Only thing is, if you like it Medium-Rare and not purple, order it medium. The sides are mostly good. Although the bar is beautiful, this place is over priced for the service and quality of the food. My husband and I started with a $16.00 crab puff appetizer that was decent - but overall bland. The salad literally looked like they came out of a bag from Krogers with a little shredded carrots and dressing, but they also tasted very dirty. The steaks filets were cooked to satisfaction. They claim Grain fed only and do not specify a quality grade, so I would have to guess select as they didn't have a lot of flavor, but they were cooked to the correct degree of doneness. The garlic mashed potato's needed some salt and pepper to help give it a full flavor and they could've been topped with Butter. The green beans seriously tasted like they were pulled from a frozen green bean bag and boiled in plain water. Why there was no salt, garlic, or even bacon added to help give this side flavor, I'm not sure. Lastly the garlic bread tasted as if it came out of the frozen section of Walmart. To finish the meal, I thought desserts are really hard to mess up, we'll try two. My husband got the chocolate cake which was a standard chocolate cake and I got the crème brûlée. The crème brûlée was clumpy and super cold. Unfortunately, our meal costed over $130.00 and I certainly would never pay that again. To round off the experience, our waitress was very kind- so this doesn't apply to her, but the rest of the staff was sitting on their phone out in the open and the hostess literally greeted us while sitting down with his phone in his hands. For a restaurant where we spent over $130, it was incredibly disappointing. 10/10 do NOT recommend. Spent your time and money else where. read more
