Employee hair on the meat

Avoid this hillbilly dump place at all costs, employees are not friendly and they will prepare your food with no hairnets and you will receive a tasty hair strain in your food! Still in the midsts of doing credit card chargeback for this!

We read an article about this place being good. It was not, not even close. No flavor, no hairnets, and not great service. The only uplifting thing was watching the seniors dance to polka and drinking of all things, Messina Hof wines.

Just moved my kid into Blinn-- was recommend by his roommate to check out Nathan's. It's not bad-- it's passable bbq, especially the chicken ribs and sides. Brisket was another story, dry and really chewy. Chicken and ribs had great smoke on them and tasted good. Two plates ran around 43 with drinks, it's pricey but all things bbq are pricey now. If we are back at Blinn I would be ok with coming back here-- connected to shell station so this ironically fits the version of Texas bbq. Texans this isn't franklins or la barbecue, for familiarity I'd say similar to Rudy's except for the brisket. Nice place to sit inside and has Pepsi product for fountain drinks. Other reviews mentioned bad service, I had nothing of the sort quite the opposite, pit guys were friendly and patient with my son who has autism.

It's connected to a convenience store.

OMG! This is true BBQ! It's been soo hard finding actual good bbq in Texas to say Texas supposed to be known for BBQ! And of course I'm big on customer service, the lady that took my order was phenomenal. Didn't take long either to get my order.

When I moved to California I was amazed at how good the Mexican food was even from a gas station... same with Texas and BBQ!! I was so happy to find burnt ends as those are something I've always wanted to try but hadn't found yet and they were even better then I've even dreamed! Got 1/4 pound (plenty for one person!) plus a side of delicious fresh flavorful coleslaw and slightly gummy but appreciate the creativity mashed twice baked potato. Price was reasonable also! The pies and cakes looked yummy too. Great stop if you have to get gas or even if you don't!

This barbecue place sits directly on Highway 290 on exit FM-389. It is a barbecue restaurant mated up with a Shell gas station. I got the three meat plate and the ribs were quite good, but the sausage had virtually no flavor unless you dipped in their bbq sauce. That brings us to the barbecue sauce. It was like barbecue flavored pudding, not my favorite. The brisket was fairly decent, but nothing about it really stood out. The sides were your typical offerings of beans, coleslaw, etc, which were average, although they do make a good broccoli salad. It's a good place to find decent, but not outstanding barbecue.

My god the brisket is awful. Tough, no bark and no flavor and they want $25 a pound. Save your money and find a better place to eat.

We were greeted by a waitress who was very friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. It's a true hole-in-the-wall spot located in a very cute part of town in Brenham. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this place.

Saw that an old Taco places had people sitting down and eating so we gave it ago. The owner was super friendly and sat us without a reservation. When I say surprised, cheated and floored that we didn't notice the change in restaurants in the year and a half they've been opened! The servers were first off some of the kindest ones. Each of them that came to our table we're awesome. This old lady didn't catch the name to our server, but he deserves extra points for answering all my questions and allowing me to take menus back to the hotel I work at! My hubby and I weren't starving and we decided to share a small plate and one main dish. The Mozzarella Tartine had an excellent taste. N ended to be less charred. A bit difficult to cut into with a butter knife. The Steak Frites my friends was one of our top favorite piece of steak we have had since moving to Texas 26 years ago!! We could cut the meat with our forks. The fries were perfectly seasoned and crisp and that aioli -- I will take a bottle! Restaurant had perfect lighting and truly classy looking decor. This is a place you need to bring your significant other or best friend and enjoy. We were told that their lunch menu basically stays the same, but their dinner and brunch menu change on occasion and last night was obviously their special occasion menu.

However, we felt like our food was just OK. We got the calamari and there wasn't anything unique about it, but it was good. My Caesar salad was a little odd. It did not taste like Cesar at all. The lasagna was just ok. We were quite disappointed in the chicken fried steak. It did not seem like it was seasoned at all, the batter was very bland and unfortunately, adding salt and pepper didn't do much because it would've been better if the batter itself was seasoned. I would return to this location, but maybe not have my hopes up so much to have a good meal. The prices are fair for what you get.

We had a few people cancel before coming in. Once again, nobody answered the phone before we arrived. The server wasn't inviting when we arrived. He said, you told us a table for 15. We ended being a party of 9. We had mediocre food and rude service. They weren't friendly, our server took our order and never came back to check on us. We could hear how he spoke to other customers too. We did actually get our water refilled from one of the other staff. The server didn't offer us any dessert. We felt rushed to leave. One guest asked for dessert and he said they one had one type of dessert. The staff at the hotel wasn't friendly either. We stopped by to look around and not one person spoke to us. We left and went to Must Be Heaven for dessert. We should've gone there for lunch but we wanted to support another local business.

This is an update to my previous review from earlier in the summer. Unfortunately today's lunch was…read morerather disappointing. I had a cheeseburger all the way and a side salad instead of french fries ; although my salad had a nice amount of croutons and vegetables, their house made honey mustard dressing was absolutely awful, and either had too much vinegar or not enough honey.; it was almost in edible ; it was only 1230 on a Monday afternoon and they were already out of crackers, so no crackers with my salad; , when I received my entrée, my cheeseburger was oddly cooked. It was on a hoagie bun, and the meat was well done on one side of the patty and medium on the other side so that when I bit into it, there was an actual crunch on the well done side, the hoagie roll was either stale or Cooked too much to the point that I could not eat it. When I complained to the waitress, she said it wasn't her fault that she simply wrote down the order and the chef cooked the food; at least the waitress was able to provide a fresh bottle of ketchup... apparently there was a drunk man in the bar spouting off because the entire restaurant could hear his rant. No effort by the wait staff to quiet him down. They just let him go on and on. I'm sure I will give this place another try, but I hope the wait staff can take some responsibility for the quality of the food. This waitress is pretty chatty with her customers so I'm sure that she isn't hurting for tips; if I'm served a meal like this again, her tip will be quite a bit smaller than usual.
