The food is excellent. I ordered the brisket (wet), potato salad and coleslaw. The smoke flavor made the meat very yummy. I actually called the restaurant to tell them how much I enjoyed my food. Customer service was great as well. The place is quaint with several tables to eat in. This is my first time in Giddings so glad I saw this place for lunch.

    A little dive in Giddings!

Wow! The brisket sandwich, potato salad, sweet tea and chocolate oatmeal bar HIT the spot for a drive by lunch! You can even call your order ahead of time! The staff was grateful and friendly. They should play a little music in the background for effect!

There is some seating available in the restaurant, but seating is mostly outside (largely covered, with fans going, thank goodness!). The service is fast and extremely friendly! We split a 3 meat (brisket, pulled pork, brisket boudin sausage) 2 sides (famous Brussels sprouts and pinto beans). The brisket and pork were dynamite! Brisket was a good mix of lean and moist, beautifully smoked. Pulled pork was soooo moist!!! Pintos were very flavorful classic Texas beans. Brussels were sweet and very lightly spicy. I love a good potato bread and they serve Martin's here. I could have eaten my weight in their house made pickles...they are the perfect foil to the richness of the meats. Both sauces were also fab --a classic bbq with a little extra vinegar than some, and a great mustard based sauce. We didn't have dessert, but the cakes look divine!! May have to come back just for those! Truth is a fantastic representation of classic Central Texas 'cue and we will certainly stop by next time we are in the area!

Food is amazing, one of the top two I have had in BBQ. Love the brisket and turkey the best and all the sides are right up my alley. I definitely would stop by again. The food, sides, hospitality of the business and staff, the outdoor dining was nice and clean. We had two small dogs with us and were not afraid of them eating or picking up anything by accident. Food is 5 stars, checking out my pictures, it's definitely worth the drive for this BBQ.

The brisket was nice and fatty. The potato salad reminded me of grade school in a good way. I got a photo with tootsie as well. What a great bbq experience. I noticed it's a bit limited on burgers and sandwiches but perhaps good for the area and easy for the staff to make. We ordered and added some pies, paid in cash for the discount and left to fill our cups. The cashier and another employee had conversations amongst themselves while we were ordering and paying. Felt a bit awkward since we didn't want to interrupt their hugging and or whatever they were doing. The sweet tea stayed mostly empty but lots of unsweetened tea. We dove right into our pies first. The Almond Joy didn't taste like the candy bar as much as an amaretto coconut pie but really good! The buttermilk pie was really good too. I ordered the chicken poblano "burger". The lettuce was sadly very soggy as was the whole sandwich. Thankfully the bun was toasted because there was way too much mayo. I noticed right away that it was just bland. The chicken was thick which is great but it was bland on bland on bland. No poblano flavor. I looked for the peppers. They were grilled/sautéed and thin. Soggy sitting under the lettuce. No flavor. The fries weren't anything special but the crunch. The tea was sadly tasteless as well. I really wish there was more to say. My mom's sandwich was just sort of...there. Nothing special to talk about. I'd go again for pie and coffee alone and only if I was desperate for something to eat. There may be better places to eat in town. It's slow paced inside. Good to watch cars go by and imagine what the place looked like years ago.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen (drumroll) you guessed it...BLUE BELL ICE CREAM!! Spoiler alert they failed to have my favorite daiquiri ice but you're not going to lose me over that. (Hint: just saying for future options. I'll be on the lookout next time I'm rolling down 290 East.) All good and well, the girls behind the counter were attentive and nice. And the restaurant rang of a good place to go after a go hometown Buffalo's Friday night football game. (This is Texas you know.) This place would shock those who require microgreens so tiny you need a jeweler's loupe to appreciate them. Ah but, brisket happens. It's a melt-in-your-mouth revelation served on butcher paper like it's no big deal. It's just a different vibe with real good home-cooking. The day I went I barely made it before they closed, so of course, just about everything was sold out (which is always a good sign). I wanted to try the brisket baked potato, but since they didn't have any brisket left, they made me one with ribs. I'm not usually a rib gal, but Pop brought me one out to try while they were making my potato and won me over. It was fall off the bone tender, literally!! I basically just had to pick up the bone and the meat fell off. Then, the potato... He weighed it before giving it to me and it was 5 lbs. Two of us ate delicious, cheesy, buttery, baked potato with ribs for two days! Plus, I just have to say that I was so impressed with the cleanliness and overall cuteness of the little shop. I really can't wait to go back - I just wish they were open later and more days of the week. I want to try the banana pudding, too, next time.
