Their quality and flavor is equal or better than any of the highly-rated Texas BBQ places. Best BBQ for the price!

Pop's was recommended to me by someone from Lexington. They told me it would give Snow's a run for…read moreits money and I have to agree (but I still love Miss Tootsie). It's just a different vibe with real good home-cooking. The day I went I barely made it before they closed, so of course, just about everything was sold out (which is always a good sign). I wanted to try the brisket baked potato, but since they didn't have any brisket left, they made me one with ribs. I'm not usually a rib gal, but Pop brought me one out to try while they were making my potato and won me over. It was fall off the bone tender, literally!! I basically just had to pick up the bone and the meat fell off. Then, the potato... He weighed it before giving it to me and it was 5 lbs. Two of us ate delicious, cheesy, buttery, baked potato with ribs for two days! Plus, I just have to say that I was so impressed with the cleanliness and overall cuteness of the little shop. I really can't wait to go back - I just wish they were open later and more days of the week. I want to try the banana pudding, too, next time. By the way, 'Ma and Pop' were just about the sweetest people I've ever met. I really wanted to be sure to leave a review because of that and they recommended on Facebook using his real name. He wrote it for me on one of his cards that I'd already lost by the time I got home. So I hope they see that I meant what I said and that I do plan to come back. Save some brisket for me!

Love the bbq especially the senior baked potato. It's big enough to feed the whole familyread more

Driving around Texas eating great BBQ and telling you the highs, the lows and where to go…read more Drove out to Brenham, Texas on a Saturday morning to eat BBQ at the original Truth BBQ. Arrived around 10:45am , place opens at 11am. A few people in line and only street parking available behind the place. Free Lone Star beer makes the wait enjoyable on a warm Texas day. My crew of four got the Texas Trinity and added 1/2 pound of brisket along with a slice of carrot cake. Sides we got potato salad and Brussel sprouts. Brisket 9/10 is was good but not a 10/10 Ribs 8/10 as they are good but could have been more tender. Sausage we got 1 link of each type 10/10 but my favorite was the brisket boudin. At 99.75 plus our add ons this enough food for 3 guys and little me. We sat outside as it was a picture perfect day for Texas Saturday. I would return and I highly recommend this place to everyone driving on 290 on the weekends early morning.

Of the sides, I like the corn pudding but the beans are forgettable. Free beer? Well it's Lone Star LIGHT! The meal itself was very expensive. Desserts looked great, but I was too full after eating the rich, moist brisket to order any. Most seating is outside, which was a comfortable place to sit and listen to some excellent blues while eating. I'd stop again if in the area while hungry, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. There are likely better places where you are coming from or going to.

From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming, with a nicely decorated dining area and plenty of seating. The staff was incredibly friendly, which made the experience even better. But of course, the real star was the food. Let's start with the brisket. I tried both the lean and the moist cuts, and they were both cooked to absolute perfection. The bark was fantastic--a deep, flavorful crust that gave way to incredibly tender meat. We were also offered a sample of the burnt ends, and they were delicious, a rich and savory bite that left me wanting more. The Hatch Chili Oaxaca sausage was another highlight. It had a smooth, mild flavor that let the sausage itself shine. The cheese had a nice texture and a subtle hint of chili that wasn't overpowering. The ribs were also outstanding. They had a great bite, just the right amount of pull from the bone, and a wonderful flavor. The classic salt and pepper rub was perfectly balanced, enhancing the meat without dominating it. For the sides, I was impressed with the potato salad. It was wonderfully creamy, loaded with big pieces of potato and bacon, and had just the right amount of onion for a nice tang. The mac and cheese was also great, with a very creamy sauce that had a fantastic flavor. While the noodles were a little on the softer side, it didn't take away from how delicious the dish was overall. Overall, this is a top-tier barbecue joint that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a truly great BBQ experience.
