I'm not sure why my original review didn't post, but I got an alert saying it didn't go through--so here we are again, because this place deserves it. My husband and I were out on a motorcycle ride on Christmas Eve and passed through Caldwell. We were excited to see something open and decided to stop at Daisy Dukes Barbecue--and I'm so glad we did. From the moment you walk in, you get that hometown, come-on-in feeling that lets you know the food is going to be good. We were starving and couldn't decide what to order, so the owner suggested a sampler. I don't know if it was an official menu item or something she just put together for us, but she absolutely loaded us up. We had brisket, sausage, fried fish, potatoes, potato salad, coleslaw, and beans--and every bit of it was amazing. We even grabbed two desserts to go. I honestly can't say enough good things about this place, and I can't believe it's been here forever and we've never stopped in before while traveling through. If you're in the area--or even if you're not--it's worth the trip. We can't wait to come back. read more

So, being new to the Bryan/College Station area I wasn't sure of a good bbq place. A close friend of mine who lives in nearby Caldwell, TX suggested Daisy Dukes BBQ. I decided to check it out and was pleasantly surprised! I got the brisket tacos and a side of potato salad. An odd side to get with the tacos but; I always like to check out at least one of the side dishes when checking out a new bbq place. The atmosphere was wonderful and made me feel I was in an old hardware store that happened to serve great bbq. The staff was very friendly and the owner even came out and said hi. When I got back to my friend's house and opened everything up, the tacos were still hot which was nice. The flavor and tenderness of the brisket was spot on. My only suggestion would be to use a little less on the toppings and perhaps use more bbq geared toppings to go with the taco, such as bourbon caramelized onions, cilantro, and diced red onion. The potato salad was pretty standard fare and bit too creamy for my preference. Also it could've used a boost of seasoning, a little extra salt and pepper never hurt anybody. We've gone to Daisy Dukes several times. It's either hit or miss. We went today (3/10) and it was horrible. We ordered two bbq sandwiches with fries. The fries were ice cold!! Staff was extremely rude including girl at register as well as older lady who was chopping up meat and brought our food out. Not sure we will ever go back! read more

Ordered a chopped beef sandwich and the brisket was not flavorful at all. Very little smoky flavor. The sandwich was overly greasy and messy. Arrived with no napkins so eating while driving was challenging. I would by pass this place, not worth the stop and time. read more

Got a 2 meat plate with brisket and ribs. Fist off I had to wait more than 15 minutes for my plate to come out. I mean come on, the bbq is already cooked, you just have to plate it and serve it. The food was fair, the service was very poor. I understand they were busy, but the drive in and to go orders (ordered after we ordered all in the same line) were served first. We sat for 45 minutes when the lady came out to bring someone that was 7 orders behind us their food (they already had their drinks) I alerted her we hadn't gotten our drinks or food yet. She went and looked and saw our food was sitting there, she brought our food. Our food was cold, my bun was toasted at one time but was cold and hard. When my husband told her it was cold she jumped down his throat challenging him. He asked if she could heat it up. She grabbed the baskets and heated them up. Lady just admit you forgot... not yell at us in front of the whole cafe as to how could it be cold!!! It was cold because you forgot to bring it out. My husband and I stopped in to grab a bite to eat on our way home to Yoakum. What a blessing!! The two beautiful staff members were such a delight and made us feel like family. The food was amazing and I absolutely loved my homestyle burger. My husband's baked potato with chopped beef was so tender and flavorful. I will definitely be stopping in again. Small town bbq, Texas is filled with places like this but this was one of the better ones. I had a thing for daisy duke growing up and I was hungry so how could I not stop here? Small town, right on the main drive so I wasn't expecting a ton but it was really good Great service, of course all woman staff it seemed so everyone was friendly (no male bbq bravado). Food came out quick, sides were hot and choices were good. I did the Brisket and jalapeño sausage with beans and coleslaw. Brisket was very good, not great but very good. I had a horrible experience last night came through the drive thur to order a cheeseburger with loaded fries 1st she said they have no cheese they've to shred some then the have no bacon or ranch once I got home the hamburger was not hot and it was so little didn't even cover the bun the fries it looks like they put chess wiz on them it was horrible! I loved the potato salad, I really hope its made in house and not a "pre-made" or I'll be disappointed because it was so good! We recently had Daisy Duke cater a large event. 300+ people. The Barbecue was outstanding. Great smoke flavor in the brisket and sausage. I got more complements by our guests than I can count. We had long lines of people at one point, and the team worked to get resupply so they didn't miss a beat. We ordered simple veggies, beans and potatoes, and they too were spot on Texas Barbecue fare. Not much on the outside, cowboy decor inside. I had a chopped beef sandwich. It was really good, nice sauce with just a little kick. Hubby said "that's what chopped beef should taste like!". He had a burger basket. Really good basic burger. Nice thick parry on a fresh bun. Fries were frozen steak fries. Brisk lunch business, with a steady line at the drive through. This is a great little BBQ joint. The brisket is tender and consistent. They also have great home style burgers. They are generous on their portions and have really good quick service. The dining area is very small if you want a seat at lunch you need to go before noon. They have a drive up to make up for the small dining area. read more

Daisy Dukes, a privately owned BBQ Place, has the best and most consistent BBQ I can ever remember eating.
