2 meat plate with sausage/turkey, macaroni and cheese and fried okra
    Em G.

Food is good, we really like the sausage and the bbq turkey. The bad part is when you order the 2 meat plate as a to go order they never give you the bread that is included in the 2 meat plate description. We've ordered to go 3 times and have never been given our bread. The prices are high for the food you get and the fact that you basically pay for bread they never give you it's kind of a rip off.

    Definitely NOT busy.

Mary was the absolute worst!! We came as a party of 10 and wanted to sit together at one table. The restaurant was NOT busy at ALL!! She told us that we could either sit at two separate tables or go to another restaurant. I cannot believe how absolutely RUDE she was!!! I will compliment our waiter however, as Eric was very polite and did a great job. Still, I am completely astonished on how bad the management (Mary) was.

Food was delicious, there is a good selection of food to choose from such as salad, steak or bbq. Staff was friendly!

I enjoyed the chicken fried steak with green beans and mashed potatoes. I tried both the brown and white gravy, they were good but nothing spectacular. Its not a place I'd go out of my way for. But overall I enjoyed my meal and would definitely eat here again. Our waitress was also very nice.

I don't know why it took me so long to eat here. I've eaten hamburgers catered by them and it was great. It's also close to my house. So I stopped in for lunch and had a great meal. Not sure why their stars are low. Fun Texas interior, reasonably clean, good service (a miracle these days with all the staff shortages), and a good menu selection. I had a 2 meat plate with fatty brisket and turkey, Cody corn (creamed corn) and potato salad. Comes with (very good) jalapeño cornbread and country white bread. Everything was good. The brisket was juicy and very flavorful, the turkey was moist, the sides were yummy and the BBQ sauce was a nice vinegary version that wasn't too sweet. Portions are generous, too. I would certainly come back. Next time will try the BBQ stuffed potatoes or a burger. Recommended.

Nice place the food was pretty good. Would eat here again. They have several Sides on a bar you pick from.

Korey was the best server! Very kind and attentive. The food was so delicious! The cornbread was so moist and flavorful! The brisket, sausage and sausage with jalapeño was thee best ever! The atmosphere was geared toward Texas A & M traditions and very informative. Would recommend this establishment!

Came in for lunch and HAD to write about our exceptional service at J Cody's Steaks & BBQ! Our waitress Madison was phenomenal!!!! She took the time to learn ALL of our names and even gave us extra bread! If you have the chance to come here, make sure you request this DOLL! AND our doll waitress all of us togo drinks that are bigger than our heads!! she's the BEST!

I was pretty delicious and juicy, but nothing spectacular about it. The portions are large for a very affordable price so that's a huge plus. Beefmaster fries wasn't that great, but the fried pickles were nice and crispy and very flavorful. The steak was pretty flavorful, but it was slightly overcooked so make sure you go 1 under on what you actually want. I wanted a perfect medium so I should've went medium rare, but instead I got medium well with some pieces well done. The avocado chicken breast had very little avocado, but as dry as the chicken breast looked, it was actually pretty juicy. Overall, for cheap eats and for some pretty good food, come support this business and bring a patch if you are first responder as it appears they collect them on their wall. I should've brought my patch from Hawaii for them. The staff were all friendly and fast. Lots of parking outside and lots of tables to dine on. The beef was tasty and juicy, and all the toppings were from the farm fresh. Even the fries were delicious. The prices were very affordable as well! Greta place for a family-friendly meal. Seasoned perfect to eat by itself, but it came with 4 different restaurant-made steak sauces. Mesquite Smoked Short Ribs- very tender and can be torn to shreds with a fork. Comes with mash potatoes and gravy and some crispy noodles for texture. Very flavorful. Sides: Maple Bacon Pecan Brussel Sprouts- very delicious and flavorful. Smoked Mashed Potatoes- very thick and smokey, but delicious. Definitely need some water lol. Poblano Creamed Corn- my wife liked this, but I didn't care for that creamy corn texture lol. Dessert: Marie Antoinette Cake- chocolate mousse cake that was perfectly rich with some kind of raspberry or berry drizzle. Also came with these super delicious alcoholic infused strawberries that paired super well. Overall, it was a pricey dinner, but not as pricey as I thought. Definitely had a great time and worth the price and experience. The restaurant ambience was dim and cabin-like setting with lots of beautiful decor. We were met by our waitress who was phenomenal- she got us a little candle and was honestly so engaging to talk to. The food was outstanding! So much so that I totally forgot to take a picture. My husband got a curried fish dish that was excellent. It had Smokey greens, black beans, and a full fish in a delicious curry sauce that I ended up mopping my fries in. I sprung for the burger that was so tall, my mouth could barely take a bite. The meat was juicy, and I cleared my plate. All of the cocktails were exceptional, and despite a rocky start to our night, the staff at Ronin managed to eventually find us a small table during an opening in reservations, which made it perfect for us.
