I mean, I can't hate, this is my after hours - budget friendly not too far out place to eat after a night of drinking. I mean, the 2, 4, 6, 8 menu? Like who can hate that? People that don't care about a damn good deal that's who. Denny's is miles better than Ihop, and I feel like the food is more Idk real? Anyway this location in particular isn't in the best of neighborhoods. Don't be surprised if you see a few lurkers as there is a motel right behind the Denny's sharing the same lot. However, it really isn't that bad. Depending on who you ask. I don't go there to hangout so I do what I do and leave. Which is eating and crashing the hell out either while still there or shortly thereafter once my boyfriend safely drives us home. And then I wake up with the worst freaking heartburn in the world. This is my first time writing a bad review actually. Manager actually left off all the pancakes on my office order. When I contacted them to fix it he said he'll give me the pancakes next time I arrive. When I asked what else he can do he arrogantly said that he'd only give me the pancakes that were missing the first time around. Disregarding the fact that it took me 20 mins to get there, and that I'd have to waste time driving back to the place. He was even speaking to me in an elevated tone. The night started out as all nights do, light drinking of water and heavy smoking. Midnight rolled around and our collective stomachs grumbled. We deigned to refuel at the nearest Denny's and found ourselves waiting in the lobby staring at the claw machine, dazed with hunger, for ten minutes. Finally one server flagged us that he would seat us shortly. He never even welcomed us. We waited a few more minutes before we finally had seats and a few more for menus and water. After much deliberation through their need to stay relevant in current culinary arts trends, we reluctantly chose our dishes and waited for the waiter. 20 minutes and our cups empty, we were still waiting for our orders. Frustrated and hungry we absconded with our dignity. A small drive to [Insert San Antonio, Texas-based greasy spoon] we marveled in hungry wonder at the pies on display. We must have looked desperate, because we were immediately welcomed, and seated at a booth. The butter was golden, the steak and pork chops were thick and juicy. The biscuits were soft and fragrant. The server was on point and friendly. He had us in stitches and we had to be wheeled out because we were so completely full. They even slid us a slice of pie as an apology for late coming toast. The staff was a bit vocal towards each other but nothing that really bothered me. What did bother me was seeing the manager sit off to the side with others scratching lottery tickets. Second time at this Denny's. I was here on Tues, Feb. 19th. I'm from Houston and was here on business. Ordered the French toast slam. When I bit the eggs there was a piece of hard plastic in them. I showed it to the waitress (I regret not taking a photograph), and asked for the Manager who was less than 6 feet from me ringing customers at the register. The nice waitress asked if I wanted the plate recooked and I said, yes. We ate and I waited. I kept looking at her at the register to see if she would acknowledge me but she never did. It was time to leave and return back to our meeting and I never got a visit from the manager or the waitress regarding this incident. And, YES!!!! I had to pay for it!!! No discount, removal or acknowledgement that they had plastic in their eggs!!!!!!! I will NEVER return to this Denny's or any!!!! I'm switching to IHOP. read more

Where do you go when you want breakfast served to you at noon? Denny's! Alright I get it it's not flashy or fancy but, it's good and we all indulge every once in a while. I wanted breakfast and nothing lunch wise would cure the craving so, I headed to Denny's to fill the void. It was actually quite busy but we were seated in the back area that a server who had just come on shift was waiting on. I ordered my usual, mozzarella sticks with blue cheese dressing to start with. Seriously their blue cheese dressing is the best anywhere. As I skimmed over the menu, I realized times have changed from the Denny's that I knew and integrated into something different. I saw a picture of Emeril, wow this place must be legit now! I can't remember the name of the breakfast sandwich that I ordered. It was lost in the deliciousness of the memory of me eating it. It was eggs, bacon, sausage, maple syrup spread etc., served with hash browns and I ordered a side of bacon. As we sat waiting for our food a very strange couple came in to sit next to us and I had the pleasure of watching a drug deal go down. Huh, who knew you got live entertainment with your food; um normal! The sandwich was sweet, salty and savory all upon the first bite. I only got through half of it because of the 3 best tastes but, it's something I would order again. The hash browns could have been cooked a little better but, as always the bacon was greasy and awesome. The mozzarella sticks leave me wondering how they have the best ever! I have eaten at this location many times and always get great service and delicious diner type food. They have just added a free delivery service because of the temporary restrictions on socializing and we thought we'd try it. The hamburgers are just as good as they are in person. We were surprised that the onion rings were hot, crisp, and perfect, even after a delivery. We have ordered a couple of times more and been very pleased with the delivery and pickup results. If you have to stay home, at least you can treat yourself to a good meal at a reasonable price. read more

Wtf I had the best service ever here lol at 2 am on a Saturday night. Host/manager greeted us immediately with a smile when we walked in. Jr, our server, was polite, honest, and helpful and was as accommodating as he could have possibly been. Checked in on us once after the food came out (after we'd actually tried a couple bites and not while our mouths were full). Manager personally walked by every table asking patrons about their experience and refilled my tea as needed. Even the gentleman who ran our food out had a genuine ass smile. Not a single employee seemed like they hated their jobs or were beat down by life. I'm just stunned by how on point the service was. So I never write bad reviews but I was very disappointed with my experience at this location that I had to share. I just moved to Austin the night before. My mom and I were starving. I'm a Chef and hardly ever eat generic food but I love me some Dennys. So after alot of apartment shopping we saw this Dennys. I'm not gonna lie I got excited to have a Dennys so close to my new home. We get there around 230/245 on a Wednesday. Maybe 3 tables, the place was dead. We got ignored as we walked it. I brushed it off since they were cleaning, no biggie. We sit down. And wait. And wait. Then we just order waters as we look at the menu. I don't know why but in Chicago the menu is HUGE but we knew what we wanted. Since we took a little longer to decide our original waitress (wish I got her name) PASSED us on to someone else. She was EXTREMELY rude about it. I overheard her saying she needed to pay bills. I get it. But I'm your customer. And I pay your Bill's. I'm in the service industry too. When she came by the first time and we didnt know what we wanted in a mere 5 minutes she said, "Oh you dont know what you want? I'm going to pass you onto someone else." I had a bad taste in my mouth but we stayed. Fast forward maybe 10 minutes. We knew what we wanted and no one gave us any sort of attention. At this point we just wanted to leave. I decided let's pay for moms coffee and leave. I dont want to spend my money here. The new waitress comes up, asks rudely if were ready to order. My mom says we just need the check please. We did this VERY nicely with smiles on our faces! The waitress says..."Pay for the coffee?! Nevermind. I got it." With the rudest attitude ever. My mom suggests we pay. Mind you..I'm in the restaurant business. The Bill was $2.37. We gave a $1 tip. Because we felt bad that we had to go. But in the real world both should have gotten nothing. I'm just disappointed that I just moved here and that was my first experience and it was horrible and blew my mind. Since then I've had nothing but great experiences with people in general here. All my waitresses, etc have been amazing. She must have had a bad day. I get it. But everyone I encountered here gave me attitude. I had visited this location several times as it is near my house. Service was always mixed, but never awful. That is, until one February evening. I had work to do from home, so I called in an order for pickup. The guy on the other line was, to say the least, not the brightest. Despite repeating answers to questions and running the order past him one final time, when my roommate went to pick up the order, it was completely wrong. My roommate tried to get him to fix it. They made a second burger, also wrong, and charged us for both. I called back and he claimed to be the manager. So, I called back the next day, got the ACTUAL manager, and he assured me I would have credit waiting in his office next time I ducked in. Fast forward to last weekend. I go to eat brunch with friends, and everything was good until it came time to check out. The manager I had spoken to, who had given me his name (which I had written on my original receipt), couldn't find my credit and didn't remember me. After arguing awhile (during which he was very rude and basically called me a liar), he agreed to deduct the two burgers from last time off of my current bill. But that still only took it from $20 down to $11. When's the last time you got two meals for $9? I let him know in no uncertain terms that he had lost a customer. I called Monday to complain to corporate about his behavior, bad management, and my lost monies. They said they would call me back by Thursday morning at the latest. It is now after noon. I do not expect this to be resolved and am debating boycotting all Denny's, not just this location. Businesses are forgetting the value of customer service. I'll take my business to places that appreciate having it. read more

I picked up my husband from the airport late last night. We stopped at this Denny's location for a quick bite. I forgot my iphone so I couldn't check in! I hate when I forget my phone! The first thing I noticed is the number of tables that still had dirty dishes on them. The person in charge of bussing tables wasn't doing their job well. I ordered the Fit Fare Veggie Skillet, a cup of decaf and a piece of toast. When I received the toast it had butter on it. I don't like butter on toast, which was my fault for not telling the server. The server offered to bring toasted bread but I declined. Speaking of the server, she said she was new. I noticed she was nervous. We sincerely complimented her several times for her excellent service. She smiled and seemed much more relaxed. I asked a question she didn't know the answer to so she asked the server at a neighboring table for the answer. The other server seemed to ignore her. My server repeated the question about three times before walking a few steps toward the server. The server impatiently answered her and walked away. When our server left our table to go place our order, another employee barked instructions at her. That person's tone left a lot to be desired, too. About the food. It was good. The portion was huge, so I brought most of it home. If it weren't for the lack of professionalism that I witnessed, I'd give this location 4 stars. In my opinion, discourteous treatment of colleagues is inexcusable and unnecessary. read more

This is the worst fucking place to come to. They have family members food served before the actual customers and the damn waitresses are horrible. They all have fucked up attitudes and didnt want to fill out drinks. They spilled a drink on me and charged us for some damn jalapeños when me and my friend only got 4. When Daniel J. and Tony B. became excited about going to a Denny's around midnight, my first thought was they had been drinking way too much. I actually can't remember the last time I'd been to a Denny's, but since this one was fairly close, and Denny's pancakes were always good, off we went. Imagine my surprise when the first thing I saw on the menu was "All-the-pancakes-you-can-eat for $4." When our server explained how it worked and then mentioned - with unusual awe and wonder - that the most pancakes he had ever seen consumed here was eleven, I was pretty sure the record-holder was an amateur with neither the psychological background nor the proper training and skills obtained from a Ryan's University or Golden Corral College. I calculated it would take me a little over a half-hour to set a new pancake record here. But we'll never know now, will we? After watching me eat only nine pancakes, Daniel and Tony became increasingly antsy about how long the evening had been, how tired they were, and all the stuff they had going on the next day. So out of simple respect and consideration, I ended the dream, because that's the kind of guy I am. Regardless, the pancakes were as good as I remembered them: Hot and fluffy, almost a real buttermilk taste, about five-inches in diameter, and they kept bringing them two at a time until I had to stop - a really good deal for four bucks. I probably wouldn't have done more than a dozen or so anyway, and I left here thinking Denny's is a surprisingly cheap and tasty late night option. As Gary K. would say, "Would I return here?" Austin is slowly building on it's selection of late night eats, but none really hold a candle to Denny's when it comes to classic diner food done well. The allure is consistency, choices, and price. All you can eat pancakes for $4! Hash browns done the way they should be...shredded and crisp. Fast, friendly, attentive service just sweetens the deal! Grand Slamwich...Two scrambled eggs, sausage, crispy bacon, shaved ham, mayonnaise and American cheese on potato bread grilled with a maple spice spread. Heavenly... Moons Over My Hammy...Ham and scrambled egg sandwich with Swiss and American cheeses on grilled sourdough. Drooool... These are not breakfast sandwiches for the weak of heart. These are delicious and filling! When I want diner food...I want real diner food. Although, I appreciate the efforts to reinvent or try to make healthy versions of classic diner fare...I find that f'ing with the classics should never be attempted! My family and I usually come to this location, as my children really enjoy Denny's food, and the atmosphere is generally enjoyable. The past few visits, however, have been sub sub sub par. In addition to being woefully understaffed, the skeleton crew is woefully under trained. The evening shift forgets to bring ordered food, but does not forget to charge said food. The coffee has gone down hill, as well. It tastes burnt, and otherwise unpalatable. This is the general scope. This is the particular scope that prompted me to post on Yelp, which I very seldom ever do. Tonight, my family and I came to this establishment, hoping to enjoy some waffles while I finished my online assignments. We entered the lobby, and saw only two staff members; a server looking overwhelmed, overworked, and downright lost, and who I can only assume is the MOD. They each looked right through us. They did not even bother to acknowledge our existence, much less deem it appropriate to let us know they saw us and would be right with us. After about 3-4 minutes, right as I was turning to lead my family out, the MOD approached us rudely, and tried to lead us to a table near the restrooms. My husband and I both declined that booth near the rest facilities, and asked to be seated on the other side of the restaurant. The MOD argued with us. We stated that I wanted to use the back corner booth that few people that time of night ever sit at because I would be able to get a stronger wifi connection to be able to complete my school work for the evening. The MOD proceeded to tell my husband that there was NO wifi over there (I always sit in that booth and have never had an issue logging into the wifi), and that we needed to sit over there (near the rest rooms). I told him I would not be eating near the rest rooms, and that the booths were too small to accommodate my family, and my computer, and that we wanted the table in the back or at the very least, the round table near the window facing IH 35. He then said, well, you can't sit there, we have a large party coming in later, follow me to this table (near the restrooms). I gathered my family and walked out. We will NOT be back to this location. The treatment we received tonight was horrible. The mannerism and rudeness of the MOD was inexcusable. If he isn't prepared to deal with a rush of customer's on a skeleton crew, then he either needs to schedule more staff, or find a new business line. I am sad to report this, as we generally enjoyed this location, with the exception of the past few trips. This was the straw. read more

This is my 3rd time to this Denny's location for breakfast. 1st of all the coffee here is really good. Each time I visited the servers have been friendly and efficient. Today I had Mercedes and she was really on top of things.my coffee and water was filled and just the right amount of check ins to see if I needed anything. The breakfast was delivered hot and fresh on all 3 visits. The skillet with chorizo was delicious and their pancakes are always good. The restaurant is clean and fresh looking. No sticky tables. I keep coming back to this location because I know the level of service and delicious meal to expect. read more
