I've been to Delancey's about three times with my brother. The atmosphere is much like any other bar/pub style place, standard decor, wood floors, dark painted walls adorned with TV's playing games. The food is not like normal pub food however. Delancey's burgers are incredible, all three times I've had different ones, and every one has been stellar. I would say the Barbeque with Bacon is the best one I've had. Their appetizers are delicious too. I would recommend the calamari (with the jalapeno marinara sauce) and the Brauhaus pretzel. The service is fairly well every time we've been, at some points there is somewhat long wait time for food. read more

Food was great but service was unbelievable I would not go back to this place. We ordered an entrée that included bread which we never received. I ordered a second beer which never arrived even after asking a second time to the busboy. I did finally get the beer when we were ready to leave. Ok, the food was pretty darn good, and the service was fantastic. However, you will experience the highest level of confusion when you sit in their "new" chairs. One position made me feel like I was being smothered by Pier One Imports, and the other made me look like a flexing kangaroo. I simply could not get comfortable, and because of that, I just wanted to inhale my food and leave. Just read all of the negative reviews because they're all accurate. It's a shame because I will say the food was absolutely delicious. However the service was sooo bad that we'll never come back because of it. The hostess's were so f***ing rude, sitting on their phones and never acknowledging us even AFTER we approached them and said hello. We then waited at least 30 min for someone to even come over to the table, and that wasn't even to take our drink orders just to let us know they're going to find someone else to do it. It wasn't until another ten min after that did we finally have someone take our orders and that was the first and last time we saw him. People who came in a long while after us got their drinks and bread (which we never got until I asked a bus boy about it since we never saw ours or any other waiter again). After finally getting our food over an hour later, still no drink, we had to ask someone about the one beer my husband had ordered. It wasn't even a draft beer but in a bottle so clearly we were just forgotten about. I wanna say it was just us but the table next to us had it so much worse. I'm also not sure how, because there were not many people in there, but it was so incredibly loud my husband and I resorted to texting each other through out our entire dinner. The food was amazing! I had the Salmon Stuffed with Crab. Probably the best Salmon I've ever had. My daughters had Chicken Parm a very large portion. My Friend had the Steak Special and was beyond pleased. My first time dining at Delanceys and I will be back. I've been here multiple times for multiple occasions. I'd always suggest reservations. The wait staff is nice, I don't think many of them eat the food though because they can never give me a recommendation (seems like they always just recommend the most expensive dish). New Chef Apparently the old chef retired a short while ago. Our family had a very disappointing meal. The food was cafeteria quality. It's too bad, very nice holiday ambiance. Delanceys is good for hanging out at the bar with your buddies or a nice dinner with friends and family. The bar area has a great happy hour special the hours are 4-6, with all the appetizers are $7 and drink specials. I would highly recommend the Thai shrimp, it's awesome! The dinner room is more on the fancy side. Ire's a really nice set up, would be a great place for a date. My favorite is the mushroom raviolis. This place has the best ones I have ever had, they make the pasta fresh. There other entrees are also great I haven't ever had anything bad. Good for all moods and events. read more

Not sure what happened here. This is one of our "go to" restaurants. Made a reservation for 5:15 on a Sunday for 9 people. There were very few people in the restaurant. We were given 1 copy of the specials to share among the 9 of us. We were given 1 bread basket and the smallest serving of butter. Service was slow. We asked multiple times for additional butter and bread. 8 meals were brought out. We waited so long for the 9th meal I got up to find our server. Again we're given 1 dessert menu for the 9 of us to share. We asked for additional copies. We left the restaurant at approximately 8:15. Won't be returning for a while. read more

Got caught in traffic on the way home from work. Was too hungry to wait until I got home and ended up at Delancey's purely by chance. The meal was phenomenal. I had a butternut squash soup, the shrimp on some type of Mexican salad, a chef's salad and a NY Strip (cooked spot on) with veggies and a baked potato. Everything served to me tasted fresh. Props to the Chef! I've had meals nowhere near this good in NYC for 3x the price. Bartender was very nice and chorused line everything perfectly. Maybe 3-4 minutes between each dish. She also didn't give me the stink eye for only drinking water, which I appreciate since I know I'm taking up a stool. Yanks game was on. Locals were excited and friendly. Nice warm vibe. This place is the definition of mediocre, first off the kitchen is absolutely disgusting with the floor looking like it barely gets cleaned and send out food that has been out for hours, not only that the staff is mostly very professional with the upper management doing a very poor job keeping morale up with there workers, I've had so many bad experiences with this restaurant that the only redeeming factor is their appetizers which are outstanding other than that please avoid this place at all costs because it is disgusting what they do with the food here read more

Louis was a fine hardworking young man. He will own his own restaurant some day. He was a pleasure! The other wait staff were also part of what looked like a good team!. Ishmael was a polite young man that worked well with everyone, GOOD JOB GUYS! There was an issue with noise, especially in the big bar. I dropped my mother-in-law and my wife off at the "Handicapped/Ramp" door out front.I parked out back and used the main entrance. They couldn't find their way into the restaurant and I couldn't find them so they walked around to the main entrance. They stated that the room they were in looked like an old hotel and could be beautiful, but wasn't. The food: Calamari, bread, salads, Chicken Parm, Seafood Fra diavolo, Shrimp Saute were excellent. Good job chef! House Merlot 9oz- great! Found this place using Google map after picking up wife at airport. Front desk girls a little preoccupied maybe unorganized and not focusing on guests, but nice. Place was hopping with a private party too but they pulled everything off in a good amount of time. We just had my son and new daughter-in-law's Rehearsal Dinner at Delancy's. It was a beautiful setting located on an historic horse racing track. My husband and I have visited Delancey's multiple times, sitting in both the formal dining area and in the bar area. Food and service has been consistently excellent in our experience! We sat in the dining hall this evening with dinner reservations. We were seated promptly, our server was very attentive, our appetizer came out extremely fast (we ordered the pretzel, it was honestly terrific and I wasn't expecting it to be lol Plenty of places have a similar soft pretzel appetizer but this was kind of another level) and our meals came out hot and absolutely delicious. I ordered chicken parm and my husband got a brick oven pizza. Servings are generous and we're both pleased to have boxed up our leftovers to eat for lunch tomorrow. Ok, why three stars? I am a reviewer who always errs on the side of the MOST possible stars I can give. On the plus side: located in a charming, historical town; free and plentiful parking; clear signs as to the proper entrance; greeted at the front desk immediately and in a friendly manner. Asked if we'd like to dine "in" or "out", we explained that we've never been here before, so we'd like to see the outside dining area. Now for the rest: Once shown to the outdoor deck, which overlooks the Historic Goshen Racetrack, we opted to eat outside. We noticed our table had two good-sized puddles on the tabletop and asked if that could be cleaned up. The gal who showed us to our table said our waitress would be out very shortly and clean that off. We could not look at our menus with all the water, so were forced to wait. When our server arrived, she immediately launched into what she could bring us to drink. No hello, my name is, nothing. We asked for a wine list. She said, "oh, I could bring you that if you like." She did fairly soon. When the wine menu arrived we asked if the choice of beers was also on there, she said no, but she could tell us the beers. Not the best, but we managed. I ordered a pinot grigio and the two guys ordered the Sam Adam's on tap. Our server brought the two beers and then came back to get my order for the wine. Then after the guys were half way through their beers, our server came out to tell me that the wine I ordered wasn't available, would I like the one other glass of pinot offered? I said yes, fine, and it was actually acceptable. No problem. I am not mentioning the name of our server, because I don't want to hurt the feelings of or taint their work record. He/she knows who they are. We ordered Nacho's for the table. While they were tasty, you kind of had to eat them with a spoon. They were sooooo limp. So soggy. Almost as if they had been made twenty minutes earlier for someone who cancelled their order and we got it. Not good. We ordered a shrimp taco, which was reported to be good. The french fries were limp, not crisp at all. Also ordered was french onion soup which I found to be very mundane. Salty and cheesy, but no real flavor. I also had the appetizer scallops, broiled with ginger and the five of them were actually very good. Our third party had the salmon wrap with fries. He really liked the wrap, but the fries, again, limp. Ambience: Upon entering, you will need to adjust your eyes to the darkness. That may be appealing to some, but wasn't for us. The deck dining was nice and quiet, but you will have to get used to and ignore the many, many honey bees that will ascend your table. They do have a bee catcher out there, that had plenty of bees in it, but you will see a lot of bees around you. BUT, they really don't bother you if you leave them alone. It's just a bit annoying with them dive bombing by your face, but we quickly adjusted to that. It is September--the "crazy" time for bees. So any other time, you may not experience this at all. When we indicated to our server that we were done, she took longer than we could have imagined to bring the check. Then she dropped it on the table without a 'how was everything', or a 'thank you' and walked away. She is young, she is probably inexperienced, we've all been there. But someone needs to train her a bit more so that patrons feel welcome and appreciated. This is coming from three people who have all worked in the service industry. Therefore, we have empathy and we are always good tippers, regardless. It's an "ok" place, but there may be better in the area. read more

i went there today specifically for chicken wings. the best chicken wings ever. they are crispy, big, flavorful, and overall extremely delicious. i'm a foodie so i was like "hm let me try this place." SO GOOD. and i also had the pretzel. delicious and big just like wings. win win. read more

This place is terrible if you are gluten free. Sat down with my family to have drinks and share appetizers. I have to say that the chocolate martini was delicious. That was the one and only good thing about my experience here. The waitress obviously did not understand gluten free. When I asked her what I could order, she said that she "thought' they had gluten free pasta and chicken fingers. She didn't offer to check. I told her we were just going to get appetizers and asked if the wings were gluten free (they almost always are at other restaurants.) She said no, because they share a frier with the french fries. I told her that french fries are almost always gluten free and asked if she was sure they weren't. She said she "thought so." *Blank Stare, no offer to check. * I then asked if there were anything besides chicken fingers that I could eat and she said no. Since I was in the mood for wings, I asked her if she could do them buffalo style, which she agreed to. The food came out 20 mins later and she pretty much threw them on the table. There were no utilities or napkins. My family had ordered pizzas and wings. When I looked at the chicken tenders, they were breaded. I had to wave down the waitress to ask for utensils and then to ask if they were breaded with gluten free breading. She didn't know. Again, I had to ask her to check. While she was gone, I noticed that the bottom of the chicken tenders were soaked- in water or oil, I'm not sure. They also weren't cooked all the way and there was no attempt to make them "buffalo style." I had to wave her down again and told her that there were inedible. Her response "Are you sure?" No apologies. The wings that my parents got had no carrots or celery, while the table next to us had wings that came with those. Had to wave her down again so I could munch on SOMETHING. I also noticed that the table next to us had nachos, which were not on the menu and are always gluten free. Why didn't she tell me? I feel like the staff couldn't care less about gluten sensitivities. If you are a gluten free person, you're not welcomed here. read more

Something wasn't right because I spent the rest of the night with horrible stomach pains and all that goes with that (without getting too detailed). If you've never had a cheesesteak from Delancey's, you are missing out and need to go as soon as possible. For around $15, you are getting actual thin sliced ribeye (not that frozen crap most places give you). The grilled peppers, onions and mushrooms topped it off. Perfect amount of cheese, this thing was incredible. Sit in the bar area for a less formal experience and watch some games with a beer or two. Highly recommended spot for lunch. Haven't tried dinner there yet, but looking forward to it. read more

Just your regular neighborhood bar. The nice thing about Delancy's is that they have Interbets on location. Interbets is an OTB location that shows racing all over the country that you can wager on. The BAD thing about Delancy's is that they NEVER have the money to pay if you win. Take this advise: Never, Never, Never settle up with your server until your ready to walk out the door. The new location in the historic 40 Park Place building is an huge upgrade over the run down cvs plaza . Views of the Goshen Historic Track and horses in training provide a relaxing backdrop to your meal. The main dining room is spacious and appealing with a very friendly, attentive staff that you would expect to find in a upscale small town place. The food is prepared with care and talent, I recommend trying the steaks prepared French style with a wine sauce with mashed potatoes and vegetables, French onion soup, seafood and salads. When I came into Delancey's, I was having the most awful night of 28 years on this earth. I came into the bar, with a scowl and an attitude, and my demeanor was immediately changed. My waitress, brianna was an absolute doll. She was as friendly as could be, helpful, and easy on the eyes. She made my evening enjoyable, and Ally behind the bar made the best bloody Mary I've ever had. I usually prefer Kelly Jean's, but they are closed on Tuesday's. Very accomodating bartender. It is hard to maintain a keto diet, while eating out. Their wings are coated in flour, so I had to settle for grilled chicken. I love their new location. They moved here a few years back. read more
