TLDR: get your own PPI done on the car you are interested in. Don't go budge on your budget unless car passes an independent PPI, if not move on from Del Sol, save yourself future additional repair expense. Bought an suv from Del Sol. Took a week long of negotiations (common used car dealership haggling to deal with). 2 weeks later car started to misfire (only drove a total of 100 miles since buying it), took it to a brand specialist and found several issues (2.5k in repair/part/labor). Del Sol has an in-house repair shop but clearly the car was not inspected well as none of the issues were mentioned such as spark plugs, radiator leak, torn cv boots etc...things that can be inspected by trained professionals before listing for sale. I purchased a car for $10,000.00. It was listed for $8500.00. Fernando and Ali were both helping me and I was pressured like crazy. I was told I had to purchase car insurance to drive off lot but could cancel the next day. Everything was done in a hurry. Very sweet nice people taking your money. No service record. Sold as is. Immediately leaking oil and bad battery. Bumper was not secured properly. Carxran rough, kept dying. Only had a good four months maybe out of a year and half. I complained. Took car in but they lost it. Ali told me they did not service vehicles. Shamshod place. It's a joke. I didn't buy a car myself but went with a friend who did. I sat through the entire experience from start to finish. As a former car salesman I didn't beat the sales guy up or the closer on price, knowing how business operates, I let them keep some of the profit but just asked for internet pricing which I'm sure was the majority of the profit. Only issue we had was the brakes, the car was shaking when stepping on brakes, we mentioned it to them but assured us it was fine and would have their in house mechanic take a look. Barely a week later the issue was still there and felt unsafe to drive. We told Edgar of the problem and he had us come in immediately and they repaired it for us. I'm giving 5 stars because of Edgar, and his team, they will take care of you. But just remember, it's a business like all dealerships, they're trying to make money. So don't feel like you'll be getting a deal of your life. What's important is how they treat you, before, during, and after the sale. read more

Del Sol knows what it means to treat a customer like Royalty. Unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to purchase a vehicle from Sam, the salesman who became my friend, but that doesn't mean we didn't do business. I made contact with Del Sol over a 2008 BMW X5. I'm a competent negotiator and I called knowing exactly what I wanted. It was Sam who picked up the phone. Sam's customer service was excellent, by the end of the phone call I wanted to not only buy from him, but also grab a drink with him. We were able to agree on a price range and after a bit of back and forth I was ready to buy, but on my way home from work another customer swooped in and made the purchase - they apparently had a deal in the works. My wife texted me, after having gone on a test drive with Sam, "I'm being treated like Royalty." Those were her exact words. I had to meet these guys, they had a family vibe. I took a look at their online inventory and found a couple of other vehicles I was interested in. It was a Saturday afternoon, I showed up and met the crew. Sam, friendly and eager to meet. Not in a "I want your money" sort of way but a "I'm happy to put a face to the voice" sort of way. We talked about family, life, and cars. He even offered me some pizza from the back room (it was Sparta's and pretty damn good.) 10/10 would recommend. Javier - I think he was the sales manager? I am having a tough time recalling. But he was eager to meet. I knew Sam had probably talked about me - Javier was friendly. Fernando - another salesman. He had a warm laugh, big fan. I wish they would have had the perfect car for me. Meanwhile, I kept looking for X5's from other dealerships. Sam asked that I send him the cars so he could vet them, as a friend. I'm glad I took him up on that because he did notice a couple things wrong with a couple listings, and when I found the perfect car - he told me to go for it. These guys are good people. I've seen several reviews where people complain about customer service. Under the direction of Edgard, the head honcho, no such shitty customer service will fly. They were nothing less than stellar. I'm selling my other car now, I plan on getting it detailed through their service department. I will certainly find more ways to give them my business. Look them up. You won't be disappointed. They're big on getting you financed, even if you're pre-approved. They'll ask you to keep an open mind, I'm positive they can get you payments in the range you desire. This review will be long so here is the bottom line: DO NOT COME HERE. DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY TELL YOU. GO TO ONE OF THE OTHER MANY DEALERSHIPS IN THE VACINITY. THESE PEOPLE WILL MAKE A FOOL OUT OF YOU AND COST YOU THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. Let me start off the bulk of this review by stating how excited I was to support Del Sol Auto as I was impressed by the professional, clean, and welcoming atmosphere of their dealership and salesmen. I was also impressed by largest minority owned business award that was displayed on the wall and the fact that they had an in-house mechanic shop that was full of cars being "prepped" for sale. Sadly, that is the end of the positive review for this company. I purchased a 2009 Subaru Legacy on January 20th for just under $6,000. A price that I thought was reasonable considering I was led to believe that they had serviced the car with new oil, filters, wiper blades, brakes, and brake pads. They also led me to believe they had done a throughout safety check and told me that a pre-buyer inspection was unnecessary (something that I had insisted on, but Victor ensured me it would be a waste to perform a check that had already been done). I know this may have been and naive of me to trust a used car salesman (which I will now never do again) but my initial test drive and personal inspection led me to believe this was a good move. I had recently had the car checked out a local mechanic, concerned with some shaking on the highway, thinking the tires had worn to the point of replacement (which another salesman did warn me would be necessary but not so soon). The mechanic reported the issues with the car were far more serious than just the tires. HOWEVER, the tires were terrible at the time of inspection! I am a student and have used the car minimally, so the state of the tires was definitely not from my use. The mechanic had informed me that the tires were worn to a point that it was completely UNSAFE AND ILLEGAL TO SELL. There was ware down on the tread, practically to the tread line, high levels of balding, bulging, AND EVEN A CRACK IN ONE OF THEM. I am very lucky to have made my minimal trips without blowing out. The additional issues were within the control arm bushings which were cracked and completely unstable. They showed me the massive amounts of movement while the car was mounted and under no weight. There was also an issue with the head gaskets leaking significantly. I am absolutely horrified by the number of repairs that I will have to invest in for this vehicle. I should have gone with my other choice of dealership, but Del Sol really had me fooled and had taken advantage of me. These are all things that they should have been aware of, and the fact that they had the audacity to lie about the safety inspection has me completely and utterly disgusted. After the purchase and before I learned about their lack of values, I was considering taking the Subaru back to Del Sol for regular maintenance, but I will be steering clear from this imposter of a dealership from now on. read more

Bought my truck here a couple months ago. The salesman I was initially involved with was named Tony (I think) and he was super nice and helpful, I wish he was the only salesman I dealt with. Some other guy stepped in during the negotiation process and was unbearable. Tony is the only reason I gave this two stars. Dude was a stand up guy. They will tell you up and down that their mechanics go through your vehicle with a fine tooth comb; I have found this to be false. They replaced my rear brake pads, but did not test the calipers. Upon arriving home after I had bought the truck I could smell the brakes were hot. Did my own troubleshooting and found that the caliper on one of the rear tires was locked. Fixed it myself for about $80. Was perturbed, but didn't think much else. Looked through my air filters and found that they hadn't been changed either; seemingly in a long time. I'm surprised it wasn't starving my engine the filter was so bad. Which is odd because it's one of the easiest and cheapest maintenance you can do on your car. Changed my engine filter for $15, no big deal. Did some more digging today because my AC isn't working; going to have to change my compressor because it's failed as well. I'll be able to remedy this for about $150, and some time of my own. Fortunately I'm an aircraft mechanic and have the tools and know-how to fix all this on my own. If you had to take it to a mechanic for all this stuff? You'd easily be over $1000 out of pocket. All this to say; don't believe them when they say their mechanics have looked everything over. Take the car to your own mechanic and have it inspected before you buy it. Or, at the very least, don't make the mistake I did and not switch everything on in the cabin to make it sure it works. It's sort of my own fault I didn't check the AC, but it was cool out so it didn't cross my mind. Likely these mechanics change the oil and check the brake pads for wear, and change any lights/window issues. At least in my experience. The other thing that made me mad is that I was going over the paperwork a day or two later and noticed they put down that they paid off my trade in for $250, when I only owed $200 on the car. Somebody pocketed $50 somewhere and I didn't catch it in enough time. I wouldn't buy another car from here just based on the incredibly high pressure sales. I made rash decisions because they were literally holding my feet to the fire. Which is also a problem of my own. Maybe I need a more cutthroat attitude. It was unsettling, to say the least. I don't necessarily think that they're evil or have bad intentions, but if they can rake you over the coals they likely will. Buy cautiously. read more

When I went to purchase a vehicle I noticed it had an extra 400 miles on it. Carfax report show it only had been there for less than a month. Thats a lot of miles for a car to accumulate at a dealership. How long is the average test drive? I would say it shouldn't last more than 10 miles. So that's about 40 test drives! That is more than one test drive a day! I don't know about you, but I find that hard to believe a test drive occurred with a prospect customer everyday and I was number 41. However..... Let me tell you how one of the salesman was talking about how the owner likes this car so much he drives it around and takes it home. What that translated to me was that this car had an out date inspection report and owner who thinks his inventory is his personal car collection. 400 miles is not that much, I agree. But YOU ARE paying for that wear and tear. Yes, he can drive around the cars and do whatever he wants. But I am not going to buy a car from a dealership owner who acts like that. Sorry but not sorry. MAKE SURE AND CHECK THE MILEAGE OF THE CAR. COMPARE TO CARFAX. I was about to sign the papers, and while he was printing the paper work I got up and just left. I made up some excuse to the other guy sitting there with me. I just got sick to my stomach thinking about how this person is treating their inventory. They called me the next morning and try to insult me saying I couldn't afford the car, I wasn't serious, and I wasted their time. Its the other way around and remember that. You're the one spending the money. YOU'RE THE BOSS. Your time is the most valuable. DO NOT RUSH WHEN YOU BUY A CAR. I tried to explain the mileage discrepancy but Victor just hung up on me. Cool. My vehicle had somewhat of a dense thumping when I would go over uneven pavement or potholes etc. along with sqeaky brakes. Aside from what the warranty covered, I still paid $499.00 out of pocket for brakes alone. Then they told us to look around the lot, we were interested in only Subaru and let them know that before hand, we also told them we were trying to stick to a certain price point. We ended up seeing a Forester on the lot, when taking it for a test drive it overheated because it had a bad head gasket and water pump. They said they would fix before we take the car but we'd have to sign paperwork to buy it. They ended up lying about the repairs when taken to a mechanic it was said to have a whole different engine. Car ended up needing more work shortly after purchasing (front suspension work for rattling and a new o2 sensor which isn't cheap). We brought in an Edmunds Report and a Kelly Blue Book report, both showing dealer price, and the sales manager Victor had the nerve to show me a "special" report from KBB that raised the value of the car $1,500 by their estimate, and still expected us to pay over that value. We had to tell them about a broken motor mount, roof leak, and alignment problem, which they fixed. The problem is, they had this car inspected by their in - house mechanics multiple times in the 50 days they've owned the vehicle. This dealer really relies on desperate and ignorant folks.
