We've owned 4 Chuck Olson Kias. It's an easy place to buy a car. We loved the cars even when they got stolen and attempted (stick shift). We were willing to overlook that because it seemed they addressed it. Apparently we should have taken the hint. I would never buy a Kia or anything from Chuck Olson again. First, their service dept doesn't have the capacity to service the cars they sell. If your brand new car leaves you walking, tough. It'll be 10 days before they can even look at it. And you will be walking. Only when they fail to fix an issue after 3 attempts will they offer a loaner car. Second, they simply do not know how to service the newer cars they sell. To wit: 1 year in with my EV6, the climate blower fails. 10 days to get the part, a few more days to get an appt. 7-10 days of fogged up windshield later they replace it. New one "is bad". Rinse and repeat. Next one "is bad". 3rd attempt it's 4:45pm, I finally call the dealership knowing full well things had to be worse than they originally told me otherwise I would have been alerted early afternoon as per usual BUT...this time a leaking part took out a wiring harness and 3 other parts including the blower. Either Chuck Olson missed a bad leak with 3 opportunities or they caused it at some point. Their lack of communication was suspicious at best. I FINALLY get a loaner after weeks driving with a fogged up windshield. With that fixed and my faith in the car and CO totally gone, I begrudgingly move on, eyeing a trade in and just eating the loss. 6 months later my car stops charging at home. They get it in a few days later and tell me "no error codes, it's your charger" I provide video evidence of my functioning charger working on another Kia and they do nothing. I'm stuck using public chargers. After filing a complaint with Kia of America they took my car for 2 weeks and gave me a loaner. In the meantime my range had been HALF what it should be. My app told me the car moved once in that 2 weeks and they claimed it was fine. Again, if there's no error code they can't fix it (it's their motto I guess). After 5+ months of public charging (costing big$) it finally failed on a public charger and CO was finally able to diagnose a failing battery. Not the 12v. The entire bottom of the car $15k battery that makes it go had been failing for 6 months hemorrhaging electricity and CO couldn't tell, basically accusing me of making up the problem. In 40 years of having cars serviced this is the most incompetent service dept I've ever seen and there's not a close 2nd. Chuck Olson has also clearly illustrated the worthlessness of a Kia warranty. They'll just tell you nothings wrong if they can't fix it and throw their corporate weight down in front of you. Kia's cars are nice out of the box but this EV6 and Chuck Olson's service department has shown they're not up on the technology. If they can't trouble shoot leaks and failing EV batteries with numerous opportunities why would you trust them with anything? The service "manager" (they have a revolving door at that position) told me "If there's no error code, we can't fix it." That's the saddest explanation for a mechanic not being able to fix something with glaring symptoms I could possibly imagine. read more

Buying my vehicle was a smooth and positive experience, but unfortunately that's where the good experience ended. I prepaid for servicing, yet I was never informed that appointments were only available during very limited weekday hours. Because of this, I had to schedule with Bellevue Kia, which offers weekend availability, and ended up paying nearly $500 out of pocket for a service that should have been covered. In hindsight, it was fortunate that I went to Bellevue Kia. Their mechanic discovered that my battery was essentially dead and expressed surprise that the vehicle had even been sold without the dealership identifying the issue. He advised me to contact the dealership for a replacement. I reached out to Kia multiple times but received no response while my car continued to die and require frequent jump starts. Working in a hospital, I simply do not have the flexibility to wait around for AAA several times a week. Eventually, I did receive a response and had the battery replaced--however, no one offered an apology for the significant inconvenience. Additionally, I purchased a plug‑in hybrid with the understanding that I would qualify for the $4,000 tax credit. When I recently attempted to file my taxes, I learned that the dealership had never submitted the required form which flagged my return to be rejected. After several follow‑ups, I finally received confirmation that the form was submitted--but because it was filed so long after the sale, I now have to wait an estimated 30-45 days for processing from what I have read online - since naturally the dealership had no updates on this for me. Now almost 30 days later since filling the form, the dealership has remained unresponsive despite my requests for updates as I am unable to file my taxes until this form is processed. There are plenty of car dealerships to choose from. Pick another! read more

Overall I had a really good experience at Chuck Olson Kia. George and Ahmed were exceedingly kind and professional and I love my new car!! I almost deducted one star for what I assume is just usual car dealership stuff: they tried to shoe horn a "screen protection package" into my estimate, the day-of buying process took forever despite already having been approved for a loan and having excellent credit, etc...but I am overall really pleased with the service I received. Again, their staff really make all the difference. George especially is a gem, get that man a raise. For Service Station only: I have been going to this dealership where I bought my car back in 2018 for service and maintenance. I don't drive much because I work from home, so my car is still less than 30,000 miles. I am aware that you still have to keep your car maintained by a certain amount of months/years even if you're not driving the recommended miles for certain services. Well, these past few oil changes at the dealership, I was told I needed something else done to my car that required forking over an additional $300-$500 more than the already high price of $130ish for an oil change. This last time when I went in to get my oil change, I was told to replace my spark plugs and they quoted me $365 (not including tax). When I looked up the average cost for my car, the estimated price range is from $218-$275. I started to feel like I was being taken advantage of, so I told them I'll get it done elsewhere. I'm so glad I did because the business I went to get it done was $150 less than what was quoted at this dealership. I also want to note that once I told them I didn't want to do the spark plug replacement and decided to go elsewhere, they weren't as friendly with me when the oil change was completed. Usually, they drive your car up, walk you to your car and wish you a nice day, but this time, he just pointed to me where my car was parked and that was it. To add insult to injury, when the person who did my spark plug replacement checked my oil, he said it was a quart low - I had just done the oil change here a week ago. This is a warning to anyone buying a vehicle from Chuck Olson. DO NOT PURCHASE THE SERVICE CONTRACT!!! We have had nothing but bad experiences. Our 2019 Kia Niro has had brake issues from the start. We had to replace the pads and rotors after only 3 years, and now after 6 years (60K) they need replacing again due to a problem with the calipers. The service contract clearly covers this, but they have processes in place to make it nearly impossible to get authorization to do the work. We've been on hold for hours, and are still waiting more than a week after we started the process. Everything is engineered to be as hard as possible. No one answers the phone, and they won't provide direct lines so every call is starting over from scratch. Bottom line: even if the service contract covers it, it's nearly impossible to get them to actually pay. Save your money!!! read more

Today solidified my low regard of Kia, but even moreso this specific garbage dealership / service center at Olson Kia (the focal point of this review). Back Story: Here we are driving through the great state of Washington to enjoy some beautiful foliage and the engine light starts flashing and can no longer accelerate. This required us to cancel our hiking plans. While this definitely sucked, it wasn't the real issue at hand, because stuff unfortunately happens in life. There's a few services you want to be able to have in life that you can rely on such as plumber, electrician, and certainly reliable car repair when you need it. So here we are broken down (paying + $500 to tow back to seattle because there no open auto repair shops in Leavenworth). Naturally we call the only Kia service center in seattle to see if we can get the car towed to their location given our emergency. Terrible Customer Service: However, they were completely unaccommodating to a customer (my gf) who has serviced her car with them multiple times over 3 years. Their rational for saying "no" was that they are only accepting "scheduled tows" at this time. We clearly stated that we are not trying to get the car scheduled for repair today, but rather just a car dropoff given our emergency and needing to instruct the tow truck. Sorry, Olson I hadn't thought ahead to schedule the car breaking down this AM and therefore couldn't plan the "emergency" tow in advance. Next time I'll try to look into the future to impossibly predict our times in need. Anyway, sassy sarcasm aside, you'd think a place that values customer service would ensure a long-time customer is provided with the bare minimum level of support during unfortunate circumstances such as this. Instead, Olson left us to fend for ourselves. This experience has tipped the scales for us to go to literally any other car dealer in the future. And to top that I'll be doing what I can to present my gf with other car manufacturers for her next car that would never dream of providing this poor level of customer service. read more

Five stras for Chuck Olson Kia and the Kia Roadside assistance. We have bought four Kias for COK since 2005 and for the first time we needed roadside assistance (which says a lot for the quality of the vehicles). When I got a flat tire I called roadside assstance and got a human on the phone immidiately and they had a tow truck to me within one hour. They took the car to COK with no charge. The service depatment did an excellent job of replacing the tire and even gave us a loaner car, as they had to order a new tire. They only charged me for the tire thanks to our platnum plan. The sales department is also excellent. We have never felt presured. read more

This dealer tried to charge me 4 grand for "excess wear and tear" when turning in my lease. When I asked for a breakdown at the time, as of course I'm willing to hear out the reasons, I was told to come back when "they have more time" even though there was more than an hour until closing, almost no other clients in the building, and the manager quoting this was sat at his desk twiddling his thumbs. I attempted to contact Chuck Olson several times before posting with no response. I decided to purchase a new Kia Sportage Hybrid in the top tier trim. Went to Chuck Olson to purchase it. It's the very first new car I ever bought and it will likely be the last car I own. I was super excited and got every bell and whistle I could think of. I knew it would be a long time for delivery and they had zero control over it. Finally got the call that it was available 9/22 and I was told they needed a few days to make it perfect and available. I told them to schedule an appointment that's convenient for them to have everything done before I got there so whenever was good for THEM was great for me. I was not in a rush and understood how staffing is an ongoing issue. I was told to come in that Saturday. Which is what I did but I was a bit early, traffic was better than I thought and I was excited. Sadly the vehicle was not ready. It was not clean, did not have the covers from the travel removed completely and none of the items that were "extra" was installed. Nor could it be as the service department was closed on Saturday. As a consumer, I was not aware they were aftermarket as it was sold as part of the original vehicle. Despite being there for 4 hours, the vehicle was not in brand new mint condition nor was it clean when I was handed the keys. I had to return the car for the Home link mirror, interior lighting, cargo mats, cargo cover and crystal fusion. I was told it would take a half day. I had the vehicle there on time for the appointment after getting a ride home. At 4 pm I was advised that they were only able to do the crystal fusion and that it would now be ready the next day. Unfortunately I had to be a whiny customer in order to get a loaner as they didn't really care that it was an inconvenience or I had to go to work or arrange for a ride there. Upon picking up the loaner, the process treats you like they don't know you, requiring copy of a credit card, license and insurance AND a walk around of the loaner. Oh and don't use any of the loaner vehicles gas. Upon being told that it was completed and giving me an attitude that I was the problem for even wanting know how the interior light system worked or to check it out, it was obvious that I was not welcome. On the ride home it was discovered that the EPB Warning light was now engaged. I followed the instructions but it had to return it again. I was told it first had to do with the light installation and then the home link installation. Matt in the service department claimed, "I drove it myself and parked it so it's fine" in a manner which was not to be argued with, as he obviously knew what he was doing and I did not. My brand new $50,000 vehicle is dirtier than it started at the dealership (not sure what crystal fusion is or what but one would think bird dodo would be in the way ) including bird poop and interior messes up n the floor. As of Friday 10/20/22, the vehicle is being inspected by a licensed neutral professional to insure the repair was done properly as I don't trust Chuck Olson to tell the truth or even care about their customer after getting the sale. I am paying for this out of pocket and having to rent a car in the meantime. But absolutely no one cared at Chuck Olson. Not our sales person Rob or David or the person who claimed he'd bring it to management.(Mohammad). Not the service department Rick or Matt or anyone. I spoke directly with the "manager" and David who both said they would take care of the situation. Absolutely nothing. No response, nothing. Every sportage is awesome and sold before it's even made. You have options. Don't make the same mistake I did. I didn't think I asked for much. A vehicle I paid for that was clean and safe. I didn't want anything free or special. Some customer service, follow up and empathy would have changed the situation completely. If I had the ability, I would return the car to Chuck Olson just to get a different dealer. They then charged me 3% more since I don't carry over $1000 in cash for repairs I never requested! I left messages for the manager 3 times and never received a call back. Mostly guys who either wanted to cheat me into paying for things I didn't need, or ignoring my concerns about the car repeatedly. So I was so surprised and delighted to chat with Justin yesterday at Chuck Olson Kia. He was super helpful, patient, and just plain courteous. He explained everything the car would need for a 60k mile check up and assured me that they would take care of installing a new part that was part of a recall. He even offered me coffee and arranged for a lyft to take me home while the care was being worked on. Service was great -- the car is running great -- I found a car dealer who seems to actually care about customers -- they even vacuumed the floor mats for me! This was all such a nice surprise. Fantastic place to have your car serviced! I bring my Kia here for all maintenance needs. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. The service is always completed correctly the first time and there are no hassles. If you wait, there is a clean and spacious waiting area with coffee, a TV and a vending machine. I worked here and got three days of training at which point I was left to figure out the rest with the disclaimer if you don't know then ask. Here is the deal with that: If I don't know then I don't know to ask. Expect 11 hour shifts with no break, 5 days a week. Good luck with that home life. Expect policy changes every day, then the day after the policy change expect to be lectured on not following the policy since day one with the reason being it is service advising 101. Never mind in your three days of training by the service manager, this policy wasn't followed though it is "Service Advising 101" Not a good place to work, no home life, no break, 11 hour shifts and constantly changing policy. read more

I just leased a car from Chuck Olson Kia. The person who contacted me (after I went onto their site) was Bobby Aid. Bobby answered my many emails with friendliness and courtesy. When I came into the dealership to look at the car, he answered many more questions. He was enthusiastic about getting me into a car, but not pushy. He was clear about my options, and I feel like I got a good deal. They got the monthly price where I wanted it. Also, Keaton was good with the financial dealings, and only tried to upsell me once with the Resistall body coating, which I hope over time will prove its worth, since overall, the Resistall product doesn't get great reviews online. I had read some negative reviews about Chuck Olson Kia before I came in, especially regarding their service department. I would like to emphasize that the 2 times I have been in for service, they have gone out of their way to be friendly and helpful. I had bought my previous car at Lee Johnson in Kirkland, but feel like their sales team this time was not good at providing clear and helpful solutions to financing a Seltos, like what I got at Chuck Olson. So, after 12 years of being a customer there, I decided to move on. I always liked Lee Johnson's service team (Jim) and that was my biggest worry about moving to Chuck Olson, but so far they have gone above and beyond in every way. I had bought my Kia Soul at Car Pros in Renton. I had tried several times to get the car in for service, but the Car Pros online service manager does not work, and no one ever answered the phone when I called the service department. Even though Shoreline is quite a bit further away from me than Renton I called the Chuck Olson Kia service department; they answered right away, and were familiar with the problem I needed to schedule service for. They also said they couldn't guarantee it, but that the warranty might cover the repairs. I brought the car in, and they fixed the issue (the blower on the fan only operated on setting 4) and also updated airbag software that was part of a recall. They had me in and out in 45 minutes, with no charge! I will gladly drive to Shoreline to have my car service needs taken care of in the future at Chuck Olson Kia. read more

I was a bit nervous committing to purchasing a car sight unseen (except on the internet) and then driving all the way from Portland to purchase the car. This is a hard one, cause we were originally happy with the price and trade-in value, the service was nice and there wasn't too much crazy haggling going on. We drove off with our new car and everything seemed fine. We got call #1 regarding a missing item they forgot to have us sign, so they drove out to Redmond to have it signed. A couple of days later we got another call, they have to come out again for another item. OK, well as long as they are coming our way, I guess its fine and it can happen, but we finally thought this is it. 2 months later, we get the notice from DOL that our tabs are expiring (of the already traded in car) and called DOL to find out why we got the notice, after all, the car was traded in, the new car had the old licence plate!? Why? Turns out, Chuck Olson never filed the report of sale, even though they said they'll take care of everything - that's part of their amazing service (aha!). Remember, this means the already sold car is under my name and if someone crashes it or other stuff, I'm still the legal owner and liable, even though the car was sold and is on their lot!!! The lady at DOL was pretty clear, this is NOT good. Ok, so again, we thought well another missed item, we gave them a call, they forwarded us to a VM, days later, no call back. We called again, got forwarded to another VM. I emailed in asking if someone could look into this, I picked the person that originally let me know that the title is available. She briskly emailed back saying that this is not her area (how about a quick apology first that something is wrong) and she'll forward it. Well... thank you! Later we got the answer that, well it hasn't sold yet, so we kinda don't do it before that. Clearly, they don't do that in general, so anyone trading in a car and its still on their lot might be the owner without knowing it. I guess they wanted to save $13? Fast forward, a week later, nothing has happened and I filed this myself! You can buy there, they have good values, but do whatever you can yourself and have them remove the documentation fee, cause they don't do much for the money. read more

My 2019 Kia Forte developed an engine knock. I brought it in and was informed that it will need an engine replacement and will be free since it was under warranty. The car was there for a long time, but they provided me with updates and a loaner so I'm not without a ride. Rick (Service Advisor) and Alex (Service Manager) went above and beyond to help me get the car ready which is understandably very hard considering lack of parts and short staff situation that is going on because of the pandemic. Seems like they don't even know how their service department works. They have no idea that yelp lists a coupon for a free oil change. They don't deliver a promised free services - a complete Check and free tire rotation that's listed on their website. After getting the car back, the checklist is literally empty. STAY AWAY FROM THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT ALL COST!!! I usually don't write reviews but I will make an exception for this establishment. They completely destroyed my engine because they forgot to tightly close the oil cap after changing my car's engine oil. Instead of giving me a safe engine replacement to drive with, they gave me a used shitty engine. This engine only lasted for three months. I called them to ask them to take responsibility for all of the damages that they were useless. They will never give you a call back even if they promise to. In person, they will be nice but when it comes to taking responsibility for their mistakes they will hide from you. read more
