I just came to Lynwood from 30 min West of Olympia. I wanted to see a car at Sno King but unfortunately it was vandalized recently. I looked at other cars they had but no go. I decided to drive down 99 and see what else was around. Select auto is not only friendly, fair and honest but the they had the exact car I was looking for! The carfax was readily available and I couldn't believe it, the car was immaculate! It had no rust and I saw a bunch of newer cars (and more expensive) along the 99 that were in awful shape and super rusted in the undercarriage. Avoid the headaches with this place! Completely unresponsive once the car drives off the lot. These vehicles, clearly, are not being tuned up/evaluated before sale. Within weeks of purchase, major issues were apparent. Tony pushed me away from getting a short warranty, he knew he was selling me a lemon and wanted to make what he could. Tried to get help and advice via phone and email. RADIO SILENCE! Not his problem. Invested over $2000 so far to get car driving respectable. Such a disappointing experience. I went to the shop after asking if a car was still available and that I would like to check it out. Tony said it was and to come in. I was hoping to negotiate the price because the car is literally the most expensive listing in the WHOLE United States by a FAT chunk and in an average condition but I wanted to check it out before saying anything. Plus it was sitting in the lot for almost a month and I was hoping he realized that the price is way to high. I had a friend/mechanic drive me because my intention was to leave with a car. I arrived and went inside and the first thing the dude says is Do you know how much that car is? And goes on about how much it was with tax very rudely. And says I don't want to get out of my chair for a test drive for no reason. He asked for a number range I was thinking on the car and I said a number that would still be considered highest in the WHOLE US market for this car and he said bye and waved. I started walking away with my buddy and he still asked me if I was interested in another car. I understand if he is firm on the price and doesn't want to sell it for any lower. We recently purchased the truck that we always wanted a h3 yes it has bad gas mileage high miles and is a heavy vehicle but that's what we wanted. We test drove it and the interior was flawless. Tony went to bat for us because our credit was shot and no one would touch us. We drove the truck home the next day. NO ishues w finance company and had vehicle checked out and no mechanical ishues . We love our hummer it pulls my boat without even trying. Thanks for the help I highly recommend Tony he is honest and will not bullshit you. BEWARE. DO NOT GO HERE. I bought a car from Tony and he stated it was inspected and in good condition. Before I even got home it started dying, I called him and he told me to talk to a mechanic which I did, and the mechanic told me it needed $1500 worth of work to get back on the road. I called Tony to see if he could help and let him know that given the circumstances I wouldn't ask him to cover the whole thing or take the car back, just help with the problem. He told me it was a used car sold as is and that it's not his problem to help at all because I signed. I see other similar reviews here which I should have read before coming. There are many used car dealers around this dealership that do better business, why risk your money coming to this one. read more

I went in with my friend and the way we was treated was very frustrating. They treat it us like we was worth nothing. We had $3000 down for a vehicle and credit over 700 score they would not let us drive the car until they run our credit. Why are they still in business? Maybe because we are Mexicans. Purchased a car from these guys, 3 days later the engine light came on. Spoke to the dealer said he'd have his mechanic look at it. The owner Tony said they fixed the problem and to be fair asked to split the $500 bill (as the problems just so happened to happen when I had the car). Luckily I didn't give him any money the day it came back from his mechanic because the engine light came on the very next morning when I was warming up my car. Emailed the owner as I was frustrated and upset. He ignored all 3 emails. I took it to two other mechanics to get second opinions and they both said the car had a blown head gasket. I had to get the Financial Company involved to cancel the loan. The owner then tried to tell me that he could help and to give him a call. I asked him to send my options via email as this business was shady and I wanted any communication from him in writing. The owner got upset and said email is not the way. He said that I would lose my trade in value, my deposit, and my credit score would be effected. I never heard from the owner again. He did have one of his workers reach out to say they are picking up the car. I was stuck with a broken car for 3 1/2 weeks. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy as even my enemy needs a reliable car. There was a sales man named James. He helped me look at the car and was very laid back. When the issues arose he tried to text me on the side as he was sticking up for his boss. I politely asked him to never text me again. He did anyways. He was then blocked. We called in advance to check out an Audi A5 and the person we spoke to over the phone told us "car is perfect! Come by". When we came by later that day, the car was completely thrashed. No detailing, rips on the driver seats, headlights fogged up. Then the sales man proceeded to tell us that this car isn't detailed yet, it's going to need another "4-5 days" for it to be done then tried to cross sell us on other cars on the a lot. These guys are Racist!!! This place is trash. I went in with James yesterday to go see a Lexus LS it was only 16k no biggie. I went in there pre-approved with BECU and a good down payment go get the vehicle. Like anybody else I wanted to test drive the car before looking at numbers. Well he didn't let me drive it, he said their manager said not to drive it. I was confused I felt like I got profiled. I went to talk to the manager and he was even rude too talking about how it will be hard to get me approved and someone out of state wants to buy it so its better to show me numbers now. I'm a salesman too, I'm a 740 beacon score with 5k down pre approved with BECU. I'm not worried about financing. I don't treat anybody like this where I work at and I don't know if they were being racist towards me because Im Hispanic or just automatically assumed I cant afford it because Im 26. Either way they never let me drive the car and I just walked out of there, They treat you like shit, they profile you. They are rude and look down on you. Will not recommended a place like this. Imagine this happening to a family member of yours or a partner. Would you like it if they got treated like this ? I know I wouldn't. This place is trash. James doesn't know how to be a salesman, def could work with his people skills and be more knowledgeable on the cars and the manager is disrespectful. read more

I bought my car from here less than a year ago. The car salesman, James, greeted me and was willing to negotiate prices with me. He didn't pressure or rush me to make a decision and he seemed genuinely nice. The financing was easy and fast. These were the only pleasant things I got out of my experience. I checked out the maintenance records before I purchased the car and it seemed to be well-maintained and taken care of properly. However, ever since I bought the car I have been having non-stop, literally NON-STOP problems with my vehicle. Low tire pressure sensor, axles, fuses, headlights, oil leak, and now an alternator. All of these problems were definitely masked just to get it off the lot. My fault for trusting a dealership lol never again. read more

Came in to check out a truck that I had seen online, this was during winter when the snow out was still, upon arrival I was greeted by James. I told him I came to see the truck and he promptly got the keys and let me look around, i took it on a test drive, enjoyed it, and was then greeted by Tony to talk further about a deal on it. We worked out a deal with a trade in on a car I no longer had interest in keeping, was put through to some great financing and haven't had any major problems with the truck since! Some small part replacements further down the line, but as to be expected with a used older vehicle. Overall feel I got a good deal and am still happy with the truck, thanks Tony! read more

Something very fishy about this place. We found a car on the lot we liked, since it was after 6 pm... Tony advised us we would get an answer back on financing the next day. I spoke with him and James a total of 4 times over the next 2 days. On day 2, we were concerned about posing the car, so I asked if I could put a deposit down while we were waiting for the finance approval (which was taking a bit longer as we were trying to get financing for my son on his own for his first ever loan) Tony assured me we could do that... but each time I offered to give him the deposit he had an excuse of not being at the shop to take the card. Last time I talked to him he told me he would call me back to take the credit card for the deposit. 5 minutes later, I get a call from some other guy (same caller id as I was just talking to Tony on) telling me he sold the car the day before. I am not sure why Tony and James felt the need to lie to me and not disclose they sold the car. They could have just been honest instead of giving me a 2 day runaround. It was odd and really made me feel like this place was totally untrustworthy. All in all.. I am glad I did not give them a deposit because I likely would have not gotten it back if financing fell through. I regret giving these jokers my social security info for financing by and trusting them with it. Most unprofessional outfit ever. If they were willing to lie about this, I wonder just how far they would go to sell a car they knew had issues. Just gross behavior all around. Oh... and the email they sent my son the following day said "We are sorry to inform you we sold the car you were interested in. You snooze, you lose" Super professional. Not. ZERO stars - Shady, Shady, Shady Make a promise to do something in writing. Called to see if they were following up. Tony gives me the " sure.... I am surprised they haven't called already." Go back 2 weeks later in person when I go to get my plates, and I get the same line and still no contact info of even the company name to replace the windshield. Refuses to make it right after the fact. Time lapse or no time lapse. You agree to do something that you purposefully did not forward to the 3rd party company (that you self admittedly cannot pass off the blame), and say "well its too late". That spells F-R-A-U-D. I was interested in purchasing a manual car and he looked at me as if I wouldn't know how to drive it/didn't know what I was talking about. How insulting. He then started asking me extremely intruding questions and proceeded to lie to me saying the car was basically sold. Even though I had called ahead of time to ensure I'd be able to test drive it and that it was still available. My boyfriend and I are first time car buyers. When we pulled up on the lot, no one came out to greet us, so we went inside. After telling him which car we were interested in, he handed us the keys to go check it out. We looked at the car for a while, took it on a short test drive and brought it back. The tires were very bald, the body was nice, and as far as we knew the engine sounded good. We negotiated the price based on the fact that the tires needed replacing. We got a lemon from them. After purchasing the car, we had about an hour drive home. That was when we noticed the smell coming from the engine. After further investigation, we determined the car had been sold with a blown head gasket. Blah, blah, blah right? We will skip all that.... When we called them for advice, and possibly some help, he just kept repeating how we had gotten a "intensive vehicle inspection from a mechanic" before we purchased the car. Which was NOT true. We have gotten no help from the dealer, and I fully believe that they were aware of the blown head gasket and the fact we were first time car buyers. read more

He listened to my concerns about the tires and rainy days approaching and put two new ones on for me. I would not recommend this dealer. They are not friendly or inviting, and do not understand the concept of good customer service. No one greeted me when I arrived, nor did they ask if I needed any assistance even as I looked around at the vehicles. I went to the trailer to find someone to help and he handed me the key to the vehicle I wanted to see. I had to walk back and forth from each vehicle to the trailer to ask any questions that I had. I waited in the cold outside the trailer for someone to assist me because the trailer was full of cigarette smoke and it was difficult to breath in there. Furthermore, I am leery of any car dealer that does not have car maintenance or service operations on site. Who is servicing these vehicles? A couple of the vehicles that I got into and started up had low fluid levels, which tells me that no one is servicing these cars. They do however have a carport and a bucket of water that is used to detail the vehicles. Notice they have nice looking vehicles, however beware of what is actually going on with any of these cars. It seems to me that this place sells cars that upstanding, quality dealers wont. If you choose to do business with them, be sure to get your own carfax report and have your mechanic check the car out for you. I am not trying to bash them, just sharing my experience. read more

06/16/2012 We recently purchased a automobile from this car dealer. They gave us the run around concerning the licence plate and tag. We visited them and inquired over the phone about this issue.They whould make up all the excuses in the world why our tag was taking so long. They claimed they mailed the tag 3 days ago and it was returned to them with the wrong address? Now our temporary tag is exspired. I had to give them a lecture on the phone concerning their poor character and buisness ethics. The unreliable owner will personally bring the tag to my home today! However,he will make me wait untill after his buisness is closed for the day! This is another example of poor buisness practice and lack of ethics. I will never recommend their services to anyone and warn people of their shady ways!!! read more

I cannot remember ever being this angry. I found a vehicle that I was interested in which was located at Select Motor Auto Sales. I sent the link to my husband who stopped and looked at it on his way home from work. He took it on a test drive and made on offer on it. Tony, the owner of the lot, turned down his offer and he offered him $500 more. Tony accepted the offer. My husband told him he was going home to get me and come back to buy the rig. We live 35 miles away from the dealership. When we were on our way to SMAS, my husband called to let them know we would be there soon but, Tony was on another line and the other salesman said he would have him call. He never did. When we got closer, my husband called him back and Tony got on the phone. My husband told him we were almost there to purchase the rig. Tony hmm'd and hawed and said there was a little problem, there was some guy who had bought a plane ticket and was flying there to buy the rig. My husband said, "You just made a deal with me an hour ago! does this mean you aren't going to sell me the car?" Tony said to come on in. We did. Tony was on the phone and never came out of his office. The other salesman told us that he had been dealing with some other guy for a few days and that he called after we left and said he was going to fly in the next day and buy the rig. We had made a deal with Tony. Tony had agreed to our deal. Tony told us to come in any way. We arrived with the funds prepared to purchase the vehicle and Tony's lackey told us we could be second in line if the other guy changed his mind the next. EFF TONY. What an ABSOLUTE WASTE OF TIME! I had a very good car buying experience from Tony and his son James at Select Motor sales. I understand different people will have various opinions about small car lots, but at Select I had a great experience. Now granted, I am a very informed buyer and knew exactly what I wanted. I found a Passat wagon on the internet, craigslist I think, and went to the lot to check it out. Fortunately, I was greeted when I arrived and James was very helpful in answering my questions (of course, only to the extent of what he knew). Actually he was more than helpful by showing me other cars I MIGHT be interested in.... I was not. I came for the TDI :-) I knew full-well what the car service records should be and what the common short-comings are on this car. They were not able to produce the records I required so I had to NEGOTIATE the price accordingly. Because I found the car on the internet, I lived a considerable distance away. I scheduled an appointment at the local VW dealer for a pre-buy inspection, and Tony was able to deliver and pick up the car for me. This is were I feel they went above and beyond, that was awesome!! Note, I did have to pay for the pre-buy inspection at the dealership ($100), but it is ALWAYS worth it even if you have to walk away. The dealership found the car DID need a few repairs and I had to push back on the price accordingly, which Select did, but I wouldn't say it was easy :-) In the end I knew what I was buying and knew what I was willing to pay. Tony was reasonable, and we were able to agree on what I thought was a fair price. Things to remember when buying a used car: 1.Know what you want! They WILL sell you anything! 2.Knowledge is power! research the vehicle, pay for an independent inspection!! It IS worth it! 3.Be willing to walk away! It's your money, don't whine about buying a broken car!! 4.Pay what the car is worth, e.g. KBB minus the cost of repairs! They paid wholesale (not a penny more!) for it. 60% of KBB retail. Try starting the negotiations there :-) you never know...... read more
