To start, they do it a little diffeent at THE CAR CONNECTION. no one came out to me and tried to push something on me which was a PLUS, PLUS! I hate pushy salesman. Second I got to look at the car and drive it by my self. I was very interested in the car, it was clean, smooth, and had low mileage, so I spoke with Tony and he was very straight forward and to the point. No extra charges for stuff I wasn't looking for or extra charges for nothing in general, which was also reliving, they even showed me the price breakdown to insure me it was all good. The car is competitivly priced, I looked around and seen the diffrence compared to other dealers. Honestly, the price was fair. The person doing the paperwork, Bryan, was also true and honest. Talked me through the whole process and didn't rush me through it. Which also gave me ease of mind where I don't have to worry about signing stuff I am not sure of. I have had nothing but an amazing experience with everyone at the car connection. Any problems (brakes or anything else that would be majorly expensive everywhere else) I've needed fixed I can immediately contact them and they are right on it and so helpful and sweet. My daughters come with me everywhere and they even have their little pup in the office and oh my is she the sweetest. If I could give this place 0 stars, then I would. Yesterday, my husband and I drove 45 minutes from home to look at a specific vehicle. From the moment we "met" the salesman, things were bad. If he hadn't have walked out of the business, we wouldn't have known he was a salesman. There was no "Hi, my name is ____. How can I help you?" There was also no handshake. We were already wary, but for the right price still wanted to check out the truck we were interested in. After thoroughly checking it out and test driving it, we went to talk money. We threw out a slightly lower number than sticker price because that's how negotiating works. You negotiate to find a happy medium that both parties are happy with. When we asked Dave (I had to find a business card on his desk to even find out his name) what his best price is, he kept saying "I don't know. I don't know." He also kept calling my husband "Dude" and "Man," which made us inch closer and closer to the door. Finally, Dave brought out a piece of paper with a lower offer. It was a whopping $400 off the sticker price. (Yes, that was sarcasm.) We had a list of approximately 15 items wrong with the vehicle and he was uninterested in hearing about it. We walked away and will find somewhere that values customers. We, thankfully, dodged a bullet here. read more

I have heard about the practices used by "Used" car dealers and found my gem of a story on the reasons to stay away from them. -The salesman Byan Olds seemed like a pretty legit guy. I am not sure if he new the car had five pounds of makeup covering up her ugly issues. I will give him the benefit of the doubt. -I purchased a 2013 Subaru Outback that had plenty of miles on it. Very understandable for the price we paid. The car looked in great working order and made a clean test drive. I give the mechanics a thumbs up on making these cars look and sound great long enough to get off the lot. - Rust was at a acceptable level from the visual stand point if the vehicle is not on a shop's lift. Once I took the car to my trusted mechanic, the lipstick came off the pig. My Mechanic found clear evidence of rust poorly painted over. Undercarriage and engine compartment had overspray from what looks like black paint from a spray can. Major parts of the engine, mounts, pulleys and suspension were painted over with no attempt to remove the rust first. A true example of a lazy attempt at corrosion prevention. -The car-fax showed no evidence of accidents. The first evidence to show I should have dug deeper was the rear left quarter panel. It was peeled up enough that the broken clips holding it in place were visible. My mechanic found that the whole rear bumper must have been replaced. The rear trunk lid was misaligned. There are gaps that have me wondering if the frame might even be warped. The exhaust pipe does not clear the cut out in the plastic bumper so it has melted from the heat. Not sure if that is a fire hazard. I guess the only silver lining is, that if it does catch fire, my awesome insurance will replace the car. - The exhaust has a broken heat shield that is holding on with one non rusted bolt. It did not rattle with the initial test drive. Once we got the car on the highway it sounded like it was bouncing off the exhaust. The entire exhaust system will need to be replaced so I figure that will be a great time to also replace the heat shield. - I did call the manager or owner after my mechanic looked at the vehicle. The state of Washington only considers a car a lemon if it is sold from a reputable detailer. "As is" is a thing. The manager had zero intention of taking the car back, so that was already a sign of the customer service I should have expected. He did offer to have his mechanic(the same ones that painted over the rust to hide it) look at it and fix any safety issues. I guess they can only be sued if the car has obvious safety issues. -If you have to deal with a company like this, please do yourself a service and read the reviews on Google and similar pages. I had the unlucky circumstance, that COVID did not allow for my Mechanic to look the car over until three weeks later. Yes it might be a pain in the butt to have the car brought into the mechanic(even if it is theirs) so they can put it on a lift, it might save you the headache and money it will take to fix the problems. Those kind of decisions are easy. Just pass on the car. If you know you are getting a junker and are o.k. with paying for one, this is your place. read more

These guys were great. I asked to test drive, they take my info and hand me the keys. I worked with Dave. I wound up buying the 1995 4Runner. I didn't need to negotiate since there wasn't really any issue with the vehicle and it was priced within the acceptable range of KBB and NADA. They got me a really great rate too considering most banks won't even finance a 25 year old vehicle. Once purchased I needed to tow my PriusC back and they let me store it overnight in their locked lot. Erik, the guy who sold me my car, gave me one of the worst customer service experiences of my life. The whole shopping/negotiation experience with Erik was just unpleasant. He also flat out lied about the car. He claimed that the chips on the windshield had already been filled, when they hadn't. The battery died within weeks of me buying the car, but it is a used car so a few problems were to be expected. The interior of the car was clean, but the floor mats were stacked in the trunk and it turns out they didn't bother cleaning those - they still had pet hair/stench from the previous owner. All of these things were irritating, but what really pissed me off was the terrible customer service I received after I purchased the car. My dealer plates were set to expire at the end of November, and I had plans to drive home for Thanksgiving. From the beginning I told Erik that I needed the plates before I was leaving, otherwise I'd be driving back with expired dealer plates. I had to make multiple phone calls to the dealership, and each time he assured me that they were dealing with it and the plates would be in the mail right away. I called days before my trip to learn that the plates were still sitting there in the office. The plates did finally arrive - after Thanksgiving and after my dealer plates were expired. We needed a vehicle replacement so we searched online and found two trucks of the same make, model, color, with similar mileage and Carfax histories for the same price. They were both on SR 99 at different dealers. We headed to 99 and test drove both. The truck at the Car Connection was in better condition so that was the one we chose. I also don't have the greatest credit and they were able to get me a reasonable payment and loan. On top of all that, I realize that I needed an adapter for the Bluetooth to work. I have been looking for a vehicle for over 4 months. Being patient to find exactly what i wanted. I decided to stop in and look at some vehicles they had on their lot. I was able to meet Vanessa ( who is AMAZING) , she was so kind and helpful. Not pushy at all. She showed me what i wanted, and also showed me some other similar cars on the lot. Unless you like to be cheated and lied to, stay away from that place. The car I bought was advertised as "Flawless" even though during the first 5 minutes of the test drive I found 2 serious issues: the engine was running very cold and there was vibration at high speed. I said I'd buy the car if these issues were fixed. They said they'd fix the temperature issue and look into the vibration. A day later, they called to say the temperature issue was fixed but that the vibration was actually caused by the tires being worn. They offered (after a lot of negotiating) a $200 discount for the tires saying that if I don't buy it, they'll just replace the bad one with a cheap used one (!!!). I accepted the discount and at the last minute they tried cheating me out of another discount that was offered on their website saying that the $200 included it. I stuck to my guns and ended up getting it. When I was buying the car they included a total loss loan insurance without asking me and I had to ask them to reprint everything. As soon as I got on the highway I noticed that the temperature issue was still not fixed. Also there was an oil leak causing burnt smell inside the cabin. I called them back as soon as I got home and went back there next day. They refused to do anything about it unless I covered 100% of their cost of repair. I refused and told them I'd spend a lot of my spare time giving them the worst reputation I can on the internet and after they called the owner they said that they can either take the car back as they'd have no trouble reselling it as is to someone else (their words exactly) or they can split the cost with me 50-50. I didn't really want to accept because at this point I had no trust whatsoever in their ability to fix the issues but given the fact that I had no time to work on the car myself I ended up accepting. Also after going through all the hell and wasting all this time, I didn't just want to abandon and give the car back. $230 and a few days later I got the car back and nothing was repaired. The temperature issue is still there and the oil leak is still there. I had to pay $900 for a set of new tires and while doing that I discovered that the control arms are badly worn as well (requiring basically a full suspension rebuild). If I could go back in time I wish I took their offer to return the car so they could sell it to another sucker. read more

So many repairs and thousands of dollars I have to spend now after only two months of driving even WITH the warranty. Do not let their friendly sales people fool you, they are major scammers. They have tried to justify the now $6,000 in repairs by claiming they "don't have a crystal ball and cannot predict what will go wrong". We had a contract with them to fix parts of the car, for example it pulled to the right, their fix was switching the front tires. So now the car pulls to the left and instead of fixing this problem they decided to argue with me telling me "it's the crown of the road" no. That's not the problem. The car was in top shape, not a single issue with anything not working, missing, or being promised. I was more than happy with the car. They accidently overcharged my card for an additional 20.00 or so, doing the initial transacton. However they undercharged for the licensing, and i ended up oweing like 50 additional dollars but when I went in to pay the 50.00 I was told not to worry about it, that we could call it even. Brandon was my salesman, but everyone at the dealership with whom i had a interaction with was awesome. If they had a car that I liked this time i was auto hunting, i would not have definately purchased from this dealership again. I am a first time (by myself) car purchaser, I don't have a perfect credit score and I don't know what too look for when it comes to used cars, other than the price and the noises. Vanessa, came up to me because I stopped in looking at a Tahoe I saw when I was driving down the street, she told me the price and the miles but also said she had a couple more so we should go look. That's when I fell in love, a black on black Denali with Low Miles and a even better sticker price. Basically I checked everything that my mechanic friend told me I should look at and everything passed, engine bay, noises, underbody, etc. and it all passed. Next up was the test drive, she handed me the keys and said take it for a spin BY MYSELF I couldn't believe it. So I met up with my mechanic friend down the road and he looked at the engine and basically said "dude if you don't buy this car I will" so I headed back and we sealed the deal. They got me approved in about a hour and I was off. I've had the car for a couple days and I'm in love with it. ALSO it is always a good idea to buy the warranty because it might save you in the long run, but you could tell this truck has been taken care of. My wife is up for a car next and as long as everything keeps going the way it is, we will be back here when it's time for that! This is the first place I would look for another car for my wife or son or myself. Recommend checking these guys out. I dislike buying cars because typically I'm treated differently or like I'm uninformed because I'm a woman. I do not like salesmen in general, but the sales staff didn't offer any pressure about which car I should test drive or try to sell me something I didn't want. My husband brought me here to test drive an Audi. Nice, but not a manual transmission, which was important to me. They happened to have a 5-speed manual sitting directly next to it that met some other criteria I was seeking. After a lengthy test drive and playing with the majority of things in the car that one would miss on a shorter inspection, I decided to make an offer. I'm a big fan of the sales manager. He was direct and straightforward. I don't know that I'd say the same of the salesman because he kept making comments about how "we found the car and brought it here", and "we're all just trying to make a buck". I told him I understood how car sales work, and that I intended to continue with the offer I had given him. The negotiation was rather brief and I admit I said to the salesman: "I'm not willing to play the game, if we can't reach a number I'm happy with, let's not waste each other's time." He agreed and the deal, in my opinion, went better after that(minimized typical car sales waiting game). After the second visit to the sales manager, we settled on a price, and the entire transaction took place in 30 minutes or less(I had a pre-approval from my credit union so financing was not involved). Overall the salesman was tolerable but nearly cost them the sale by making comments about how I should offer more than I wanted to for that specific vehicle. I ultimately stayed because the sales manager was reasonable and articulate and the car fit what I was looking for. If you're looking for minimal BS in a sales deal, I'd recommend this place. They don't offer high pressure sales and they're friendly. They did offer a service agreement and warranty, which I declined. I was impressed that they didn't continue to try to pressure me into purchasing either. As far as car sales go, the overall transaction was delightful and I'd look on their lot again for my next vehicle. With 2 test drives, a discussion with my spouse, and a purchase, I spent a total of 90 minutes there on a busy Saturday, which I find impressive. read more
