It was a day like any other day but soon, my life would be changed forever. I would meet Lee Hansen. Yesterday, my wife I and decided it was time to stop being fleeced at the gas pumps. We headed out in search of driving and learning about an electric vehicle (EV) We were not intending on purchasing one. It was just an exploratory mission to drive, learn and compare EVs. We stopped by Lee Johnson Hyundai in Everett and my life's course changed forever. I saw him. Yes him. (Not that Him.) Lee. Low pressure, friendly, informative, well dressed, Lee. Lee was able to explain, show, demonstrate, explain again, (I'm old) about all the EVs idiosyncrasies. We took a test drive and were very impressed. I would mention the vehicle here but, no. The star of the day was Lee. Sadly, and I later learned, stupidly, we told Lee thank you for the bountiful gift of knowledge but we must quest on and look at other EVs to further our knowledge. Lee happily sent me on my way. Kind, friendly Lee did not try to make a "high pressure last ditch effort" to keep me there. He just wished me well and said "I hope I see you again." (Little did I know Lee must be psychic.) We went to other dealers and engaged and learned bout other EVs. We found a lot of EVs to be a plastic, uncomfortable, cheaply put together with random EV tech thrown around that wasn't even on the same level as what Lee showed us. We thanked the other, low pressure, very friendly but not as friendly as Lee, sales people. We went back to Lee. There he was. Not standing impatiently at the front of the dealership, like so many sales people do. He was inside sitting and joking with other people. His face lit up when he saw me. The word destiny, came to mind. But I digress. I could go on and on about Lee. But I have to go to work. I ended up purchasing an Ioniq 5. The star of the show should have been the Ioniq 5. It is am amazing EV with a 10yr battery warranty. Not 8 years. Bumper to bumper warranty , for what seems forever and blah, blah, blah. If you want to buy an EV, Lee will show you what Lee Johnson Hyundai has available. He will explain and help you make a decision. That decision might be to leave and think about the purchase, to go check other dealers or whatever you need or desire. I purchased my vehicle brand new from this dealership and was promised free oil changes for life as part of that purchase. Scheduling my recent oil change was smooth and uneventful, which is exactly what I expected. Unfortunately, the experience completely fell apart when I returned to pick up my vehicle. At pickup, I was told I owed over $200 for the oil change. This directly contradicted the agreement tied to my purchase. When I calmly asked for clarification, what followed was one of the most unprofessional customer service interactions I have ever experienced. While another staff member was attempting to help me, an employee named Chris repeatedly inserted herself into the conversation. Her tone was sarcastic and dismissive from the start. She made smug facial expressions while I asked simple questions about why I was being charged for something I was told would be covered. At one point she smirked and laughed. When I asked if she was laughing at me, she responded with an exaggerated forced laugh. The interaction felt intentionally belittling. I was not upset about asking questions. I was upset about being treated with open disrespect while trying to understand why I was being charged for a promised benefit. This was not just poor service. It was humiliating and completely unprofessional. Customers should not have to argue to receive what was promised when they purchased their vehicle. Even more concerning is the behavior displayed during what should have been a routine conversation. This experience has seriously impacted my trust in this dealership. I will be extremely hesitant to return for service if interactions like this are considered acceptable. Thank you for responding. I want to be very clear -- the expectation of complimentary oil changes did not come from confusion on my end. It was communicated to me during the sales process and was a factor in my decision to purchase the vehicle. For the past four years, I have scheduled oil changes while noting that I was not to be charged, and both the Kirkland and Everett locations consistently honored that without issue. Because of that history, it is difficult to reconcile being told now that this was "never part of the sales pitch" or that it only applied to a limited timeframe. That does not align with my experience as a customer since the date of purchase. If this reflects an internal inconsistency between what was communicated at the time of sale and what is now being honored, that is something worth reviewing. I stand by my understanding of what was presented to me when I made the decision to buy from Lee Johnson, and I hope this can be addressed in a way that reflects the commitments customers rely on when making a major purchase. read more

Just wanted to recognize some excellent customer service that my wife and I received recently from Kevin and Travis of the service center. We recently had an issue with our parking brake which fortunately was covered by the warranty we also have recently had our brakes replaced and tires also. So based on that experience my car also needed its brakes looked at so after my wife and I dropped my car off on a Saturday I was driving my wife's car when the check engine light came on I was noticing a lag in exceleration we were able to limp back to the dealership where we explained what was going on this is where Kevin was able to squeeze us in and take care of a starter selinoid which was also under warranty. So happy with our experience here at the new location we are long time returning customers because the cars we've bought have been reliable for the most part the usual maintenance is all we've had to do I highly recommend this establishment read more

Extremely unprofessional with terrible communication and costumer service. I have been a loyal costumer for several years, but my last experience has left me completely disappointed. There were several issues with the service department. First of all, I emailed a service agent to schedule an appointment and I never heard back. I showed up to my appointment on time and upon arriving at the service center no one come to check me in, I waited in my car for a while and no one in the department come to help me, even thought they were all at their desks, including James, the service manager. I went up to their desks to ask for help, no one even looked at me, I had to ask someone to check me in. Over two hours went by before they started the service on my car, I know this because I could still see my car parked outside the whole time since I arrived. It is extremely unprofessional to overbook clients when their appointments are made weeks to months in advance. It shows a complete lack of respect and disregard for my time as a customer. I also scheduled an appointment for another service at my last visit and had to call weeks later to confirm because they had not put me on the schedule. I dropped off my car for the day. I was told they would call when my car was ready for pick up. At 4:40pm I received a Text letting me know that a machine they were using had broken, and that the car would not be ready that day. I wanted to get more information so I called, I was transferred to my service agent but she did not answer. I was transferred to her 3 times but she never picked up the phone even though I was told they could see her at her desk. Because of this I was transferred to a different service agent, but because he was not assigned to me he was not able to give me much information. All he said was that my car would get finished the next day, he ASSURED me it would be ready then and that they would call to let me know when to pick it up. The next day, Saturday, I waited for their call all day and got nothing. About 20 minutes before they closed I called AGAIN to get an update. I asked about the status of my car and was completely shocked when I was told that the car was not only not ready but that the team working on it had not come in at all that day, that I would have to wait until Monday to get more information. It is unacceptable, They made me wait all day for nothing. Had I not called they wouldn't even have had the decency to let me know I would be without a car all those extra days. Because I was left with no car without notice I had to miss work, appointments and other plans. The fact that I had to be the one to reach out to them continuously shows their poor communication and lack of care for their costumers. It's extremely disappointing that I was given no notice whatsoever about the situation. I tried to communicate and get some transparency on the matter but was given none, it's so unprofessional and disrespectful. read more

Edited: By invitation, I reached out to the General Manager, Brandon, via email after hours on a Tuesday following my initial post. He replied within 5 min and vowed to make things right. His candor and absolute transparency was refreshing to say the least. We agreed to chat the following Thursday (which is today as I write this update). We talked at 1pm. Brandon sincerely apologized for the miscommunication and instantly made things right for us. No negotiation. No haggling needed at all. We had a deal within 5min because Brandon made it clear he valued us as customers and wanted to basically "honor the values that the dealership stands for." My wife went straight to the dealership after work; met with Brandon personally; and was out of there in less than an hour. My wife is thrilled! And we are both grateful to have had a second chance with Lee Johnson Hyundai. In my original post, I said that I have never been so frustrated... Well, I'm here to tell you that I extremely impressed by the professionalism, integrity, and authentic care we received from Brandon and his team. A terrible situation has turned into a triumphant success. Any business can do the right thing when it's easy to do so. The truly great businesses do it when things go sideways and off the rails. To be honest, I was not really looking forward to buying a new car but I needed one. So I arrived at Lee Johnson and Felipe was great, just great! The whole process from the time I arrived at the dealership to the time I left was unlike any other time I have purchased a car, and I have bought quite a few cars in my time. Felipe's explanation to me of the whole process of how cars are sold at Lee Johnson was very much appreciated. I did not feel like I was getting the typical dealership "run-around" as too often we all feel once we leave the store. Nope, not this time. Felipe made sure that I had no questions left unanswered before I left and he went out of his way to also make sure I was fairly well versed in the operation of the car because cars are not cars anymore but computers on wheels. So, from an old guy who has bought a lot of cars in his life, I can say with a lot of conviction that this was the best time I had buying a car. For nearly a month, my husband and I have been trying to get ahold of the GM for this location. The GM does not return calls and when my husband gets a human being, he is just transferred to the GM voicemail. Besides the lack of any customer service, the reason for trying to reach the GM is related to the car we purchased. It was a "certified" Hyandai Sonata hybrid. There is a hole in our gas tank. It was obviously "patched" with some sort of metal puddy by either the previous owner and not reported to car fax or it was patched by Lee Johnson and then "certified" by the dealership. Come on, who certifies a car with a metal puddy on a gas tank? According to the mechanic I took it to, we were told it is illegal to "patch" a gasoline tank. I have NEVER been so disappointed in Lee Johnson of Everett that I will NEVER recommend them. I wish I could give negative stars or even ZERO, but since I can't, I will give 1 star, but it is really zero stars. Randy J. I did exactly what you requested and called and requested to speak with your service manager. Guess where I was transferred to? You got it, his voicemail. My husband and I both decided to check our voicemails. I did not have any messages missed, but upon my husband reviewing his voicemails, he did find a short voice mail from your SM that had gone directly to his voicemail. He provided his cell number, so it is our hope that we can start getting this issue worked out. Both my husband and I have been cordial and patient. This will be a long negative review! If I could leave negative stars I would do that. On April 15,2025 my partner and I went to LEE JOHNSON HYUNDAI of Everett to look for a 2025 Tucson Limited Hybrid. I had set up an appointment. we met with Daniel(think that was his name) and went for a test drive. Daniel was very well informed on all of the features of the SUV. we get back to the dealership and for some reason we get handed off to Fabian with no explanation. This is where things start to go bad. After some back and forth negotiations and Fabian saying it almost time for him to leave,(he was the typical car salesman, pushy, etc). I said I wasn't going to do purchase the vehicle, just couldn't wrap my head around the payment. I had filled out a credit application and Fabian said I could purchase any car I wanted. The next morning Fabian called me first thing while I was at work saying his General Sales Manager had increased the trade in price and they could get the payment lower. I said I would have to talk it over with my partner when she woke up. Within about a half hr of the phone call the credit monitoring company I use started sending me emails saying my credit was being run thru several lending companies. I immediately called the dealership to speak with Fabian. I spoke to him and he got the finance person on the phone. Their excuse was that I had signed the credit application the night before. I kept telling them I had walked away from the deal the night before and they had me the next morning. I never gave them the authorization to run my credit again. They kept saying I had signed the credit application so they had to e legal right to run it. I went to the dealership after work and spoke with Becky(she has been great) about how this wasn't right. I gave her 2 options...1) have the dealership write me a letter for the credit bureaus saying they had run my credit unauthorized. 2) I write a scathing review on how unethical the salesman, General Sales Manager and the Dealership is. Becky tried to get a letter from legal this week but their excuse was once again...I had signed the credit application the night before. So here I am writing a scathing review. Fabian assumed that if they could get the payment where I wanted it I would do the deal...So my credit was ran the next day AFTER I HAD SAID NO I WASNT GOING TO DO THE DEAL. He contacted me the following day. Buyer beware!!! DONT BUY FROM LEE JOHNSON HYUNDAI of EVERETT THEY ARE UNETHICAL. If you go to a dealership dont sign a credit application until your sure or going thru with the purchase. They contacted me the next day saying they had a deal for me after running my credit that day without my permission. In the state of Washington this is illegal. After I made them aware of their mistake they refused to write a letter to the credit agency. Very bad dealership! Just to be clear they ran my credit a day after I said I didn't want their car. Took my car in for my free oil change that was part of the package when I purchased the vehicle. I was welcomed kindly, and I mentioned to the gentleman that I was having an issue with the parking brake. He noticed that something was lodged in the parking brake release so I was unable to press it down to disengage the parking brake. When my oil change was done, they didn't have to, but one of their technicians spent about 45 minutes working on removing the piece of plastic that was causing the problem. My truck is back to good as new, and they didn't charge me. He could've made me schedule another appointment to come back and have it addressed, but he didn't. My 2024 Sonata Hybrid Limited has been sitting at Lee Johnson Hyundai of Everett for over 4 weeks, waiting to have the Bluelink fixed. It always shows the wrong vehicle location. I'm not in Costa Mesa. I get the constant run around, telling me to do their job and call BlueLink. For 4 weeks, I've been treated like I'm less than, like I'm ignorant, that I don't know what I'm talking about because I'm a woman. I've even had the service manager Robert tell me "he was doing me a favor by even looking at the defective head unit" I can't use the crash detection (SOS), roadside assistance or vehicle recovery. All 3 BlueLink features are heavily marketed on newer models. But all three require the vehicle's location. But my vehicle's location is always showing in Costa Mesa, CA. At one point during this 4+ week time span, Lee Johnson allowed the battery to completely die. The engineers couldn't troubleshoot the BlueLink system if the car was dead. I called LJ and begged and pleaded with them to please charge the battery. LJ refused to do so, until my husband flew in from the UK and walked into the showroom and demanded that the battery be charged. See, I asked LJ to do that very thing. But they treated me with blatant contempt. DON'T BUY A HYUNDAI FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! LJ deserves far less than the one star required to at least post. LJ is a zero star dealership read more

The guy that was selling us the car got super rude and aggressive after we found that the car he was selling had damage . We asked to take the car to a pre purchase garage and how does that change the price ? He raised his voice and began repeating "If you don't like it you don't have to buy it !!!" Again and again and again . I've tried to talk reassembly to him but he was getting more and more loud and aggressive . At a certain point I've asked if he will continue selling the car as "clean car" He replied "if you will not buy it someone will buy it, I don't care". Be careful , it seems to be they do some unhealthy stuff in this dealership I could fit my fingers into this gap , someone covers it with a cheap plastic cover to hide the gap. read more

When I arrived I was informed that the car had moved to their second location just a few days prior (no big deal), they called their second location to make sure the car was still available before I made the trip and got me in touch with Brian. Brian was great, very courteous and understanding, no pushy sales tactics and he was transparent every step of the way, offering me the CarFax report shortly after arriving and got me on my way to do a solo test drive so I could get a feel of the car and make my own decision from there. As is the case with most car dealers these days, even the best ones, your experience is largely defined by your own expectations and understanding of the market (if you think you're getting a discount off MSRP right now, should probably think again), the individuals you work with, and how busy the store is. The folks I worked with at Hyundai of Everett, Dillon Hewitt, Nick Hallock, and Kathy Cope were great! I was after a fairly hard to get vehicle - the Hyundai Elantra N in a particular color (Cyber Gray) and transmission (DCT). This is a limited production car, allocations can be hit or miss, and most dealers in the PNW are adding markups and accessories ranging from $1,500 to $10,000 over MSRP. I noticed that Hyundai of Everett had 3 coming in, one in Cyber Gray. I had spoken with Dillon much earlier in the year about securing one of these and at the time, they were all spoken for. I reached back out and even though it was Dillon's day off, Nick stepped in and helped me via email to quote me a no-nonsense price at MSRP + tax, doc fee, and tags. Slam dunk right off the bat. I gave a deposit over the phone and went about waiting for it to arrive. NOTE: They do add a $399 SecurityGuard product to all of their cars - be prepared for that - even with that, their pricing is still better than what literally any other dealer up this way is doing on basically any car. The car arrived earlier than I expected and I worked with Dillon to setup a time to come in and close. I will say, my only complaint is that the store is very very busy right now and they seem to be understaffed (as are most places). I had some communications issues with Dillon because of that, but he quickly made it right for me and ensured I had a great experience - I really appreciated his effort there. On delivery day I arrived at the dealer and gave the car a spin, signed some initial papers with Dillon, waited about 40 minutes, and then was brought to finance with Kathy. Kathy was great - not pushy, very efficient, was able to fund my deal with my credit union approval, AND we had a great conversation the whole time. Really made the process fun and low stress! Dillon setup my BlueLink, walked me through the features of my car, gave me my temp tag, and I was on my way. If not for the wait for finance (see busy store note above), I would've been in and out in under an hour. If you're looking for a very fair deal on a Hyundai or Genesis in today's market and enjoy being treated like a human - Dillon, Nick, and Kathy are your people! read more

I was interested in purchasing a Hyundai Kona, specifically in the two-tone blue and gray colors. Therefore, I went on the Hyundai of Everett website and saw the stock they had available. Compared to other Puget Sound area Hyundai dealerships, this location has a lot of stock to see. I was able to see in person different editions in different colors that weren't easily found at other dealerships, which was good. I made an appointment with a salesperson and three different people from the dealership contacted me about options and such, prior to my appointment. When I went in for my appointment with the salesperson I was supposed to meet with, he was too busy with another customer, so I worked with someone else, which wasn't an issue. The employee who helped me was very friendly, and we went on a test drive around the area in a Kona. Afterwards, we discussed options, prices and stock availability. I was mostly interested in getting the two-tone color than the most exclusive edition of the Kona, which they didn't have. But she tried to sell me on the limited edition and would not go down on price like the other dealerships I spoke with. Overall, it was a good experience, but had better luck at another Hyundai dealership. read more

I came in informing the guy I had just quit my job due to a really toxic and abusive environment and I needed the best deal possible. Not only did I get lied to but I paid $178 for a diagnosis on my car when I didn't ask for one, I asked them to fix it, I had already known what was wrong with my vehicle. They waisted 2 hours of my time and didn't fix ANYTHING on my car. Worst place I've ever been to. Would never recommend. I did end up getting a full refund. read more

Great for sales, but service is a NIGHTMARE. Unable to reach service department or get a response for urgent warranty issue. Also Elantra I purchased in 2020 is now super expensive to insure due to theft issues with Hyundai's security system. Pushed my auto insurance through the roof just for owning that particular model. Insurance is nearly as much as car payment. read more
