I would not recommend Chevrolet of Everett, and I will never do business with this dealership again.
I purchased a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan from this dealership, and unfortunately, the problems started almost immediately. From the beginning, I was having issues with the catalytic converter and related emissions/O2 sensor problems. I repeatedly brought these concerns to the dealership's attention and spent nearly an entire year going back and forth with them trying to get the issues properly resolved.
At one point, the dealership did replace the catalytic converter. However, I continued having problems with the O2 sensor for approximately another 10 months. I repeatedly explained that something was still wrong, but after the 90-day period had passed, I was ultimately told that I should be responsible for paying for the O2 sensor.
I never paid for that repair because, in my opinion, this was not some brand-new issue that suddenly appeared after 90 days. It was an ongoing problem that I had been reporting and asking them to address for months. Eventually, they discovered what I had been telling them all along.
Then, shortly before I had owned the vehicle for a year, the transmission failed. It wasn't simply a minor transmission problem--the transmission was failing catastrophically and was essentially falling apart. When I contacted the dealership, their response was essentially, "Oh, it finally took a dive."
That response was incredibly frustrating considering everything I had already experienced with this vehicle.
I understand that used vehicles can have problems, and I understand that buying a used vehicle comes with some risk. However, my experience goes far beyond simply being unhappy with a used car. I repeatedly brought problems to their attention, and I feel those concerns were not taken seriously or adequately addressed.
At the time I purchased this vehicle, I was already dealing with the aftermath of a hit-and-run that left me without reliable transportation. I was a single mother in a very difficult financial situation, and I desperately needed a dependable vehicle. Instead, I ended up with a vehicle that caused me nearly a year of stress, repeated repairs, arguments, and ultimately a catastrophic transmission failure. I ended up having to file bankruptcy because of the car not being able to drive.
I can only speak to my own experience, but based on that experience, I feel this dealership knew there were ongoing issues with the vehicle and still allowed me to leave with it.
The vehicle is now gone and the matter is finally behind me, but I will never forget how difficult this experience was. I would absolutely not purchase another vehicle from Chevrolet of Everett, and I cannot recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a dependable used vehicle.
If you're considering buying a used vehicle here, I strongly recommend having it independently inspected by a mechanic before you sign anything. Don't rely solely on what the dealership tells you about the condition of the vehicle. read more
