I read the reviews and it's true - he did say he didn't know a lot about the history of the cars i was checking out but it was my choice to take that risk and i bought a pretty cheap so far so good car. [Knock on wood] If you're poor like me, don't need a sales guy to talk your ear off, a smooth sale with options to finance and want a hopefully good reliable car for cheap for the next couple years I'd go here. The other weekend, I made my way here to look at their used vehicles. I had been looking for a few weeks at used cars and stumbled upon their online site which had a multitude of cars around my price range, all of which looked to be fairly well kept even though they were 10+ years old. Ron assisted us in looking into the Ford Fusion that had caught my eye. Very friendly and personable, he assisted us through the whole process and addressed some concerns I had about the vehicle. His willingness to assist me even after my purchase is further proof of a great company. It is very small and only the owner and Ron are there to assist people. I think though that the circumstances make it a more comfortable enviorment for car shopping. They may be assisting someone when you arrive but they are more than happy to help you when they have a moment. After visiting countless dealerships throughout my life with family and seeing all kinds of salesman, this was a refreshing experience. My only complaint is that it's a little too well nestled, we passed the turn at first unsure of where it was but it is a hidden gem. Used car shopping can be scary but if you're diligent in your research and examination of vehicles you will stumble upon some great finds. The fact that they're open on Sunday's for a time was already a find for me and greatly reduced my stress levels in finding a vehicle. Checked out this lot because they specialize in inexpensive cars - older, higher mileage, but under $5000 a majority of the time. They had a 2001 Mustang that looked great at first glance - no dings, no scrapes, clean under the hood, practically new tires, clean like-new interior, and started right up. The list price of $2500 seemed low to me (though upon research, it matches the Kelly Blue Book for one of these in good condition), so I asked "What's the catch? Why is this affordable?" Guy replies something along the lines of 'We get a lot of these in. There's a lot in the market, and it isn't equipped with any extras or racing parts.' The next day I take it for a pre-purchase inspection up the road. As soon as the mechanic gets it up on the lift, he watches multiple drops of fluid drip from the rear main seal, and sees that the entire underside is green from sitting undriven. Ultimately he tells me the thing needs probably $5000 worth of repairs including lower ball joint damage, brakes, struts/shocks, transmission seal leakage... In addition, the computer had 5 codes stored, and the mechanic said it seemed like someone had tried to clear them by pulling out the battery, but they just made it so the codes couldn't be wiped. I took it back to Auto Werx and the guy didn't act friendly or surprised when I gave him the keys and told him why the answer was "No." He just told me to have a nice evening and started messing with the papers on his desk. It really seems like they knew perfectly well they were offering me a car with a lot of issues, and when I asked "What's the catch?" they did not volunteer any of that information. They did not tell me a single thing was wrong with it while we discussed its specs. I will not be bothering with any of the cars on their lot in the future and I'd recommend other folks stay away as well. Or at LEAST get that pre purchase inspection because these guys are not honest, and not worth your time. read more

Great service. Jesse helped my parent get a car for me for college. I loved the car and my parents tested it and it ran great. I came into Jesse a couple days ago because my car was making a nose and it was kind of shaking the car a little bit. This was maybe like my third time driving it since buy omg it from him two weeks ago. I called Jesse and I told him that I need some help and because my parents was gone and my dad is the mechanic in the family that wasn't there I called Jesse. Jesse told me to bring it in and he would check on it. He told me that it was exhausted pipe and it was just something weird that happened because it came off. So he fixed it up with no problem. I purchased a 96 Chrysler Concorde about a month ago and they told me it was a perfectly running vehicle and they'd stand behind it. Well within a week it was already running poorly, misfiring, the ride indicated something wasn't right, struts?? They also told me there was not a reader on the car to find out why the Check Engine light was on... RED FLAG. Now it leaks water, leaks oil and still misfires. IT DOES have an OBD reader on the car - it just doesn't work. I went to have an estimate done at a shop and they said that the water pump is bad, the valve cover gaskets are leaking oil, tie rods are work. Motor/tranny mounts are lose. The housings are rusting and the struts are bad. The brakes are bad, fuel filter's old, scanner detects a misfire. In other words, I WOULD NEVER BUY FROM THIS PLACE AGAIN. They don't return phone calls, I highly doubt they'll return my email and I really don't think they'll stand behind the car like they said the would. 1 star... if I could go lower... I would! If you want to get a car... get one somewhere else. read more

Bought a used Nissan from these guys. They seem genuine in giving assurance, however I feel like I may have overpaid because I've only had it for three weeks and it has been finicky since I bought it. Beautiful car though and the initial inspection from the dealership didn't yield any problems, however the original issue is still undiagnosed. I was forewarned to watch for a few things just because it hadn't been driven for awhile. It is a beautiful and comfortable car and I'm confident the repairs will be minor, however I am a little insecure because it seems so soon. But they really have been gentlemen so far. I would be willing to buy from them again, just take the recommended precautions of having a pre-buyers inspection. read more

I just bought my second car from these guys and honestly I laugh at these other reviews. This is a dealership no doubt, but you are not buying a 2012 Toyota Corolla. These are cars that they source out that are cheap and economical... yes it will not be perfect and then again these cars are not 2 years old. The guys are down to earth and not pushy. I have come back to them because they keep their inventories up to date online and let you look over their cars without constantly being over your shoulder, throwing words around hoping they get the sale. I have bought from Seattle Auto Werx other than just going off craigslist because it is way more convenient to get everything out of the way in one sitting. The car is paid for, registration is taken care of, sales tax has been paid, and my plates will be mailed to me in two weeks. Done in one day without visiting the dol. However, on both purchases I have paid cash so I have no experience with their financing practices. Again this dealership is easy and convenient. Their cars are in good condition but not perfect- again they are not selling $15k two-year-old cars. I have bought from them twice now and when the time comes and I get bored of my commuter, I will be back on their website like before. read more

Called last Thursday morning about a van you had for sale. Asked if the ac worked and was told yes. With being stopped in I-90 for an hour due to an accident and having to drive up 405 during rush hour it was a long trip. Quick test drive, bought the van, and drove home, a 10 plus hour day. Today it is about 96... and the ac does not work. Not too happy. Should I have checked the ac better before I bought the van... of course. Being tired and stressed from the 5 hour drive to get there it didn't get done. The main point is when I asked if the ac worked I should have been told either I don't know, I will check, or no, it does not. This would have saved me a full day and subsequent expense. Terrible customer service, and these guys are obviously ripping people off. I dealt with an extremely rude and aloof sales guy, who kept making annoyed comments about how he'd rather be having dinner with his mother instead of making a sale. Strike one. He also could offer virtually no information about the vehicles I was checking out, in terms of repair history or current issues. He just handed me some vehicle history report he printed off, and said that's all he could tell me. There were no obvious issues that my partner or I could detect upon test-driving and looking under the hood, so I bought the car---all in all, it matched the Blue Book price and fit my other parameters. Two days later the check engine light came on, so I took it to my (very honest, very affordable) mechanic, who said the CC needed replacing, both front CV joints were shot, and the transmission fluid was "almost black". I spent $2400 on this vehicle within a week of owning it, and obviously paid way too much. These guys are running a seriously shady operation. Stay away. And make sure you get a pre-purchase inspection, which I regret not doing. read more

This has by far been my worst experience purchasing a vehicle from a used car dealership. I was told in person as well as online. That the 1996 Grand Cherokee Laredo was in excellent condition which I seriously over paid for. As soon as I attempted to drive home on the freeway the steering along with the whole front end began to shaking violently after reaching speeds 60 plus. After receiving my car back from them 4 days later after constantly chasing them down. Finally got my car back. Not even a week later my check engine light comes on, my car begins to cut off out of no where. I have now replaced my alternator, serpentine belt, crankshaft position sensor. Still need to replace my exhaust manifold and catylic converter.(misspelled). They showed no compassion when I went to pic up plates. Would never recommend this place to anyone! read more

Vehicle odometer fraud. I contacted Seattle Auto Werx responding to a Craigslist ad for a 2004 Chevy Tahoe LT indicating price $6,995 and odometer reading of 136,000 miles. I talked to a salesman, Jessie and took a test drive in the vehicle and can confirm the odometer reading of 136,xxx miles. The company provided me an Auto Check Vehicle History Report with the Vin number. I purchased a Carfax report for the Chevy Tahoe with the same Vin number. The Carfax report indicated the Last Odometer reading of 200,644. The Carfax report has a detailed history that clearly shows the actual mileage on this vehicle is far greater than mileage indicated in the vehicle odometer. I did not purchase this vehicle and have not reported this issue to the dealership. I believe this to be a clear case of vehicle odometer fraud. In all fairness, I am not able to positively say that the odometer was rolled back by the dealer or that the dealer was aware of the issue. However, the dealer should be aware of the contents of a Carfax report before offering a vehicle for sale. read more

Ive been fighting with them since july 2016 until now Dec 2016 about the car, it broke down only after a week and i have purchased the extra warranty they offered for another 1500 bucks and told me that it covers just about everything. So when the car broke down on me ive called and told them what happed and they didn't even offer to fix it nor replace the car so i asked to take the extra warranty off the car and get the money back so im able to pay off the rest on the car as i stated im still trying to get the problem taken care of but they just dont want to deal with me. My wife and I saw an ad for an auto at Seattle Auto Werx in Lynnwood on Friday, called the lot, and spoke with Jessie to arrange to see the vehicle the following Saturday morning. We asked Jessie if we could take the car to our mechanic in Redmond for a buyer's inspection, and he agreed, since all the shops in Lynnwood were either closed on Saturday or charged at least double what our mechanic, whom we trust, would for the mechanical inspection. Asking Jessie what the earliest appointment he had available Saturday was, we learned his lot would be open at 10AM, so confirmed we'd be by at 10AM sharp and made an 11AM appointment with our mechanic in Redmond. We got to Seattle Auto Werx (we agree with another poster that it's difficult to find, as it's behind another building off the main road with no alerting signage) about 9:55AM, aware of the tight timing to get to Redmond and back to Lynnwood (we both had to work in the afternoon). By 10:30AM no one had arrived at the lot and it was obvious we would miss our appointment with our mechanic. Another business owner at an adjacent mechanical shop expressed surprise that the Auto Werx team wasn't present (we both knocked at Auto Werx's door, but all the lights were off), and even commented that it reflects very poorly on a business to miss a confirmed appointment. Later in the day Jessie called to apologize--there had been a power outage at his home. Already hesitant about doing business with Seattle Auto Werx, we called the shop reluctantly on Monday to arrange to see the vehicle one more time. John answered and was adamant, "we were here all day Saturday." When I detailed to him what had happened--even pointing out that his partner Jessie had already called us to apologize for missing the appointment, he shockingly refused to acknowledge that his team/partner had missed the appointment. I let him know my mechanic had made a special Saturday availability for my family and that I couldn't cancel another appointment with his garage. But never once did John even apologize for wasting my family's time--and by extension, my mechanic's. Seattle Auto Werx's unprofessionalism was scintillating. While emergencies happen--we can understand a missed appointment due to extreme weather conditions, calling a potential client a liar after having failed to show up for a confirmed appointment is simply egregious. This business' treatment of customers reflects extremely poorly on their products, used cars, in an industry already renowned for duplicity and churlishness. We'll be letting all our colleagues--all in the market for used vehicles for their sons and daughters leaving for college next fall--know to stay far, far away from Seattle Auto Werx. read more

My husband and I were looking for a second car being sold at a decent price and came across Auto Werx on Craigslist. We read other reviews for this business below but my husband decided to give them a chance. We called to see if the specific car was still available, told them we'd be on our way, and took the hour+ drive out to Lynnwood. After finding the place (really needs a sign out front as it's behind another used car dealership), we introduced ourselves and asked to see the car. The cars are crammed together so we had to wait over 20 minutes while they unsuccessfully tried to jump a car to move the car we wanted to test drive. I viewed this as unprofessional as they could have done this while waiting for our arrival, but we just took that time to examine the car. My husband got in and out and we walked around to talk about what we saw. The next thing we know, the older guy (never provided a name) is yelling at my husband for locking the keys in the car! My husband swore he didn't touch the locks as he was checking the gears and overall driver's side of the inside of the car. The younger guy, Jessie I believe, calmed the older guy down -ish by saying it happens more than you think and then proceeded to separate the door to unlock the car, but I was upset that he immediately accused this of us as he was messing with the car as well so couldn't know for a fact who did what. After getting the car out, my husband went to sign papers for the test drive and I continued to inspect the electronic functions of the car. We had to move our car so the older guy could get their car completely out for the test drive. He then jumped out of the car and yelled at ME for almost locking the car door "again". I was not having it and told him that I was checking the electric locks and purposefully left the car open to prevent anything from happening accidentally. Instead of apologizing or being understanding, he just walked away. The car was horrible. It smelled and had things that didn't work, but drove fine. We didn't know the area but were able to find a parking lot to test some things, at which point I noticed the "check engine" light was on...but covered with electrical tape so the driver couldn't see it!! My husband said that the black tape blended perfectly with the dashboard, preventing anyone from seeing it. We immediately drove back but couldn't believe they tried to hide that MAJOR issue. Upon arrival, we asked about it and the older guy looked away and said, "Huh" (clearly he knew about it), got in the car (which had started smoking!) and proceeded to ignore us, so we left. The entire experience was a nightmare and we will NEVER go back there again as the way their business is being run is highly unprofessional and unethical. read more

If you can find it (BEHIND Armadillo Auto Sales), you will find a small lot with a lot of cars. The car I was looking for was marked at, if not below the Blue Book price, and that is why these guys do not haggle. They know what these cars are worth, but they don't go for a markup, which saves the hassle of dealing with most salesmen. More mechanics and less salesmen, the staff are friendly, but no nonsense. They allowed me to drive the car to Seattle to be checked out by a mechanic, and they provided me with all the info they had on the car. Even though they were having computer/printing issues, I was out of there in under an hour using the old paper method of transfer. Even after I got the car, they were very helpful over the phone in helping me open the stubborn hatch (user error). Great experience and got a great car at a very fair price.
