We live within walking distance to Dee's Place that is located off the circle in downtown Sebring. We meet a group of friends for breakfast at least three days of the week. The food is very tasty and always comes out quickly and hot. The omelettes are made with 3 eggs. They are stuffed with more than enough ingredients. Coffee is .99 cents. The pastries displayed in the glass case by the front door are house made. The cinnamon rolls are huge and spread with plenty of icing. The staff is pleasant. The restaurant could use a facelift and a few renovations but it is a charming place. We see many familiar faces. Dee, the owner, is very generous. She supports the High School sports teams and employs local students. Every third Sunday of the month, Dee transforms her restaurant to host a dinner with live Christian music. Reservations are highly recommended as the seats fill very quickly. There is not a charge for this event, however; there is a box placed at the front door for your desired donation. I recommend Dee's for a good meal, visit friends, and support local.

First time visiting Dee's Place in Sebring. Lovely small town vibes café! The service was quick and pleasant, even though it was busy on a Saturday morning. I wanted something that felt homemade, so eggs, hash browns, toast, and unlimited coffee were perfect. I'd definitely recommend it if those are the vibes you're looking for.

Dee's Place is simply the best!! 10/10 The southern home cooking is amazing! The staff is top notch and always friendly. The food is delicious and always fresh. The staff makes you feel like family. The restaurant is always clean and has a country feel. Definitely worth stopping by and trying it out for yourself. I've known Dee since I was 5 (I'm now 35) she is amazing and helps out the community. She is a big part of this community. Support local small businesses who help the community like Dee does.

If you want a good spot for breakfast, these folks do a nice job! They are within sight of Sebring Circle. Street parking is usually not bad and failing that, there is a small free lot adjacent to them. Atmosphere- This is a big place for a breakfast & lunch joint. My inside pic shows about half of it. It's bright and very clean and decorated with the usual Florida kitsch. The tables were appropriately Covid spaced. Customer Service- Very efficient! They seem to work as a team. My food was out quickly, and my coffee was topped off frequently. I would have appreciated a few more smiles but generally they got the job done. Food- We're talking a standard American menu with no surprises. You'll recognize everything. I ordered a Ham & Cheese Omelet, Hash Browns, and an English Muffin for $6.99. I lot of places charge extra when you substitute an English Muffin but not here. Nice! A bottomless cup of coffee was a buck. Everything I was served was cooked properly. It might not be obvious in my pic, but the omelet was huge! Oddly, when I cut into it, I would call it unbalanced. There was a massive amount of cheese and very little ham. It was tasty as hell but I'm definitely not going to tell my doctor about all that cheese. The hash browns were great, and the muffin was nicely buttered. I was completely stuffed! Would I visit again? You bet!

And in Sebring, that means you walk into the cool Irish pub on the circle and soak it all in. The interior alone makes it worth the visit. Dark wood, warm lighting, that cozy tucked-away pub feel that makes you forget you are in the middle of Florida. It feels transported. It is one of those places in Sebring that you just have to see because it is so unexpectedly cool inside. Service was great. I was there for a quick in and out, so I sat at the bar and kept it simple with a chicken Caesar salad. Nothing fancy. For the price, it was very fair, and the flavor held up. No complaints. It did exactly what it needed to do, which was give me a solid meal in a comfortable setting without overcomplicating things. Now let's talk about Sebring itself. Sebring is one of those towns in the middle of nowhere Florida where you find yourself thinking, "I wonder what it would be like to live here?" while also scratching your head a little. It reminds me of The Villages before The Villages became The Villages. There is a concept there. It is adorable. It is charming. And most of the time, it is very, very quiet. Personally, I would go stir crazy living there full time. But I can absolutely see the appeal. And to be fair, Sebring is not always sleepy. It comes alive during major events like the legendary 12 Hours of Sebring at Sebring International Raceway, which draws racing fans from all over the world. There is also the Sebring Soda Festival, the Highlands County Fair, and various car shows and seasonal events that suddenly flood the town with energy. During those times, I imagine the entire vibe shifts. If I were to come back, it would be for one of those big events or for some serious antique shopping, because that is where this area quietly shines. Gavaghans fits perfectly into that Sebring personality. Cozy. A little unexpected. Solid. Worth stepping into. Even if you are not an Irish pub person, it is one of those spots that makes you think, okay... I get it.

We sat ourselves at a table nearest a window. The place is dimly lit. We placed our order at the bar. We did not wait long for our meal. We each had the Cesar Salad with Bacon bits and a glass of red wine. The salad was a generous portion, fresh and crisp with just the right amount of housemade dressing. We each ate half of the salad and took the remaining home. The place was quiet with only one other table seated. We were able to converse with each other in a relaxed and unhurried atmosphere. It was a most pleasant evening. I recommend Gavaghans and plan to return on a weekend when the place might have a more livelier vibe.

Sophie's Cafe was one of the businesses featured on an episode, so obviously we wanted to check it out, having watched the behind-the-scenes details. The restaurant was super busy, so we put our name in and walked around for an hour before being called. The restaurant is pretty tight inside when there are a lot of people. We were seated across from the bakery case, and there were a lot of people walking by and ordering pastries. I ordered the Pan con Lechon -- a pressed Cuban sandwich with shredded pork and onions. I just ordered the half size, and thankfully I did. It was huge! So if you really want a value (and maybe some leftovers), order the full size for only a couple of dollars more. The sandwich tasted delicious, too. The pork was tender and flavorful.

The decor is classic 50s roadside diner with old license plates on the wall, an old pickup truck outside and a TV on ESPN by my table. The menu is classic Americana / diner fare with a southern touch. I'd been on an empty stomach through my 3 hour drive and meetings, so by the time I sat down to eat, I almost would have even eaten the paper the menu was written on :) Since it was a little bit on the chilly side, I started with their hearty cup of baked potato soup, deliciously loaded with cheese & bacon bits in a stew. Their warm, buttery and fluffy rolls topped with cinnamon butter were worth every single gram of carbs and almost functioned as a dessert themselves. Then came my yummy main dish, a roasted half chicken with just the right amount of skin and garnished with a smoky barbecue sauce. It was a sizable bird, taking up a nice bit of plate real estate, though leaving just enough room for a warm and topped with butter sweet potato. Needless to say, I still had room for dessert, and enjoyed their Keylime pie. Mal, my waitress, was very pleasant and I didn't have to wait for soda refills. Plating was also on time. I noticed they also had a Valentine's Day local special. It seems like this is a happening place in Sebring and I'd stop by next time I'm in the area.

Very nice, tall blonde. She was very honest. She told us the steaks aren't local. She then told us about the fries that are hand cut everyday aren't crisp. They're more flimsy. She also let us know they make 3 homemade salad dressings. We ordered the fried pickles first. They came out small cut, with ranch dressing and seasoned well. I actually liked them. We then ordered our meal. We picked our steak of the rib eye 18 oz. We ordered it medium rare. Steak also came with 2 sides or you can get up charged for other items. I got fries and the mashed potatoes. My wife got her 2 sides as she was also charged 6 dollars for 2 sides and a salad. She got the baked potato and cabbage. The steak came out perfect. Good char on it. Medium rare was good. I liked it a lot. Not tough. The fries like she said came out limp. They weren't bad. Mashed potatoes were good. Nothing to write home about. My wife said the bake potato was good. And the cabbage was ok. The waitress was attentive and made sure our drinks were full when needed. Overall, I'd say the food was a 4.4 with the salad being a small plate with normal stuff. The fries were also missing that crunch factor. The mashed potatoes were ok. The steak is what saved it and the pickles.

The dining area was comfortable enough and full of local flair. I decided to deduct one star due to the lack of unique flavor from the food. Everything tasted fresh and good, but nothing special.
