Pineapple, tomato & cucumber sandwich on pumpernickel bread spread with a thin layer of cream cheese Side of homemade macaroni salad
Anna S.

I often eat here for breakfast and am never disappointed. I recently stopped here for lunch with three friends and was very impressed with their menu options. As with breakfast, the food was very tasty and plentiful. Everyone in my party left happy and satisfied. Our server Gris, who is familiar with us, was our server. She is very friendly, always in a delightful mood and attentive. We visited on a Sunday afternoon. The place was filled and lively. We were seated very quickly. I ordered the pineapple, tomato & cucumber sandwich on pumpernickel bread spread with a thin layer of cream cheese. Excellent. I chose the homemade macaroni salad as my side. Creamy and tasty. The rest of my party ordered a bowl of chicken soup, mashed potatoes with turkey gravy and a ham & swiss sandwich with a side of apple sauce. I will definitely return for lunch again and look forward to trying the fried green tomatoes.

well it wasn't anything fancy but it was good! The service was fast and efficient, I love the decorum. It really feels like I just stepped into the 1960s!! This place's ambiance is genuinely just amazing, I got hot chocolate and it tasted more like water than hot chocolate. Then I ordered the full stack pancakes with chocolate in them with sausage links. It was nothing special but it tasted good. I took photos of the food this time. THE STAFF WERE SO NICE!!

a worthwhile ride stop

It's been better in my past visits, or could of been my breakfast choice, service was average/good, my quesadillas not so great, popular stop for pass thru bikers

Very nice breakfast plate!

I woke up this morning with a craving for a 50s Diner experience with excellent home-cooked food and I knew exactly where to go! These fine folks have been around for almost twenty-five years and they're always busy, which should tell you something. Pro Tip #1- The late Sunday morning (11ish) church crowd is insane and is to be avoided just like you would avoid a root canal with no pain meds! Pro Tip #2- They have a dinner menu, but they close at 3pm which is downright weird. That's one hell of an early dinner! Also, they're closed on Tuesday, which is definitely unusual. Arriving- Easy on and off the Northbound side of US Route 27. Plenty of parking with 2 handicapped spots very close to the entrance. Considering the number of older retirees in the area, they should probably have a couple more spaces. Atmosphere- You have three choices for seating. You've got the counter which seats about 10 which is a wonderful choice for a single diner like me. You have the dining room which has booths and assorted tables, and you have a gorgeous outside covered patio with about six tables. BTW- the whole place is spotless! Service- I've never had a problem. My drinks are always refilled appropriately, and I'm checked on at decent intervals. I'm almost always served with a smile that's occasionally strained when it gets crazy busy. My server today had worked there ten years! Food- Classic American diner food with no surprises. You'll recognize everything. The menu is quite extensive with plenty to satisfy most everyone. The majority of the food is mildly seasoned. Nothing too spicy. Foodies will be unhappy here but everyone else will leave smiling and stuffed! From this visit, you can peruse my pics of a typical breakfast. The corned beef hash is flat out amazing, and you need to try it! You can also get it as an omelet filling. Of course, the biscuit is homemade. My meal today was a little pricier than normal because I substituted sausage patties for a pile of home fries. The meal with tax set me back $16.10. Most breakfasts are less than $10. These fine folks are a staple in the Sebring area, and you really can't go wrong if you choose to visit. Just not at 11 am on Sunday!

Busy but great service. You get what you pay for. One complaint they don't offer maple syrup with pancakes. It's brown corn syrup.

Good food, nice service and little noisy at times, but hey what diner isn't noisy. A hometown type of ambiance.

Wonderful brunch at Sophie's Café! This was my second visit…read moreto Sophie's Café, and both times have been excellent. I was in Sebring visiting friends who recommended the spot, so we went for Sunday brunch and loved it. The breakfast and coffee were delicious, portions were generous without being overwhelming, and the prices felt fair. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and our server was friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Sebring!

We drove to Sebring from the Orlando area, thanks to HGTV's Home Town Takeover show. We waited…read moreuntil the weekend of the Soda Festival (in April), and then hit several of the downtown circle's establishments. Sophie's Cafe was one of the businesses featured on an episode, so obviously we wanted to check it out, having watched the behind-the-scenes details. The restaurant was super busy, so we put our name in and walked around for an hour before being called. The restaurant is pretty tight inside when there are a lot of people. We were seated across from the bakery case, and there were a lot of people walking by and ordering pastries. I ordered the Pan con Lechon -- a pressed Cuban sandwich with shredded pork and onions. I just ordered the half size, and thankfully I did. It was huge! So if you really want a value (and maybe some leftovers), order the full size for only a couple of dollars more. The sandwich tasted delicious, too. The pork was tender and flavorful.

-7 years of patronage! -…read more I was 1st to review these fine folks in 2018 and have since had breakfast here many times. This visit was my 1st time for lunch! Important note- This is NOT the franchise chain with a similar name! This is a different family-run, single location restaurant. Pro Tip- Breakfast & Lunch only. Just check Yelp for dinner options in the area. Arriving- They are on the Northbound side of US Route 27, hidden in the Sebring Square Plaza. They're nestled among a string of plazas and signage is not great. Use your GPS. Hint- Look for the Winn-Dixie or Advanced Auto Parts signage and you're there! As they are in a plaza, parking is almost always a snap. Ambience- Don't get excited. It's standard Florida Kitch. You don't go to an inexpensive restaurant to admire the décor. You expect neat and clean, and you will absolutely get that here. Pro Tip- Wi-Fi can be spotty due to the business location. They do have Wi-Fi, but it's restricted to management only. Not the servers, not the customers, just management! Say goodbye to one half star! Customer Service- 10 Stars! I was seated with a menu and had my drink within a minute. I placed my order within a minute of when I was ready and my food was out in less than 10 minutes. Just perfection! My wonderful server was Bobbi-Lynn. I know this because a card on the table told me so. When she delivered my check, she flipped the card over and there was a message. See my picture. So unique and appreciated! Pro Tip- As with many great places in this area, the Sunday church rush is something you do not want to experience! Here it begins around noon so beware of Sundays! Food- Standard American comfort food at its best. As they are in the city of Sebring, you might see a dish called Sebring this or Sebring that, but that's just a marketing ploy. It's still just good ole comfort food. On this visit my trusted Yelp Friend, Art J., recommended the Patty Melt & Crinkle Cut Fries so I went with that. Great job Art! My Melt was piping hot and cooked just as I requested. The caramelized onions were perfect. The fries were hot and crispy. Just a wonderful lunch for about $13 and change. Conclusion- Over 8 years, these fine folks have almost 700 reviews that average 4.5 stars from Yelp and that other site that some folks use and that's impressive. When I first reviewed them, this wasn't true, but they have matured, and I now agree! If they ever change their misguided Wi-Fi decision, I'd go 5 stars!

A Hidden Gem! Great service and the food comes out hot and tasty. It's a great place for breakfast…read moreor lunch.
