Had bunless 'egg, thin slice ham, tomato, Swiss' as a bowl-- WINNER ! With few bites home fries

I often eat here for breakfast and am never disappointed. I recently stopped here for lunch with three friends and was very impressed with their menu options. As with breakfast, the food was very tasty and plentiful. Everyone in my party left happy and satisfied. Our server Gris, who is familiar with us, was our server. She is very friendly, always in a delightful mood and attentive. We visited on a Sunday afternoon. The place was filled and lively. We were seated very quickly. I ordered the pineapple, tomato & cucumber sandwich on pumpernickel bread spread with a thin layer of cream cheese. Excellent. I chose the homemade macaroni salad as my side. Creamy and tasty. The rest of my party ordered a bowl of chicken soup, mashed potatoes with turkey gravy and a ham & swiss sandwich with a side of apple sauce. I will definitely return for lunch again and look forward to trying the fried green tomatoes. read more

Place was busy, but not crazy busy. We like a good diner and had high hopes. The waitress was not very attentive and the food was ok but definitely not what we hoped for. well it wasn't anything fancy but it was good! The service was fast and efficient, I love the decorum. It really feels like I just stepped into the 1960s!! This place's ambiance is genuinely just amazing, I got hot chocolate and it tasted more like water than hot chocolate. It was very good for the most part, but the coconut shrimp sauce, while tasty, was like water and ran right off the shrimp. Why would they make it that way??? Husband's prime rib was ordered med rare as were 2 others at our table. Those were perfect but somehow hubby's was more like medium well. So points off for those items. For a $28 steak it should be cooked how it's ordered. read more

I woke up this morning with a craving for a 50s Diner experience with excellent home-cooked food and I knew exactly where to go! These fine folks have been around for almost twenty-five years and they're always busy, which should tell you something. Pro Tip #1- The late Sunday morning (11ish) church crowd is insane and is to be avoided just like you would avoid a root canal with no pain meds! Pro Tip #2- They have a dinner menu, but they close at 3pm which is downright weird. That's one hell of an early dinner! Also, they're closed on Tuesday, which is definitely unusual. Arriving- Easy on and off the Northbound side of US Route 27. Plenty of parking with 2 handicapped spots very close to the entrance. Considering the number of older retirees in the area, they should probably have a couple more spaces. Atmosphere- You have three choices for seating. You've got the counter which seats about 10 which is a wonderful choice for a single diner like me. You have the dining room which has booths and assorted tables, and you have a gorgeous outside covered patio with about six tables. BTW- the whole place is spotless! Service- I've never had a problem. My drinks are always refilled appropriately, and I'm checked on at decent intervals. I'm almost always served with a smile that's occasionally strained when it gets crazy busy. My server today had worked there ten years! Food- Classic American diner food with no surprises. You'll recognize everything. The menu is quite extensive with plenty to satisfy most everyone. The majority of the food is mildly seasoned. Nothing too spicy. Foodies will be unhappy here but everyone else will leave smiling and stuffed! From this visit, you can peruse my pics of a typical breakfast. The corned beef hash is flat out amazing, and you need to try it! You can also get it as an omelet filling. Of course, the biscuit is homemade. My meal today was a little pricier than normal because I substituted sausage patties for a pile of home fries. The meal with tax set me back $16.10. Most breakfasts are less than $10. These fine folks are a staple in the Sebring area, and you really can't go wrong if you choose to visit. Just not at 11 am on Sunday! read more

Came here because it had always been a favorite - unfortunately won't ever go back. Once seated and the order taken for two cold sandwiches we waited 30 minutes for the food. My sandwich, "the house" was described as a thick layer of cream cheese, tomato, cucumber and pineapple. When it came it had no tomato and the cream cheese layer was thinner than the butter I put on toast. I got up and picked up the menu off the counter to see if I was mistaken - no that was the description. I ate 1/2 and sulked - our waitress never came back to check. So I pulled the pineapple out and ate that. I finally was able to say something when the check arrived. The manager refused compensation except for our drinks because I had eaten part of it. Great as a breakfast go's, especially after not having a breakfast for many days as we were in town for the races and everyday were long days at the track. Yes I was satisfied with the breakfast. Sausage gravy could have had more sausage in it but I have that complaint with all sausage gravy, some more some less. Nice attractive waitress. read more

Old school diner. Loved the vibe. Large portions, my friend had the pot roast dinner which looked and tasted great. My wife had the pot roast sandwich which was almost at big as the dinner portion. I had the Salisbury steak which also was old school style, delicious gravy and onions. Definitely recommend stopping in if in the area. read more

Stopped here today for lunch while traveling with my dog as I needed a restaurant with outdoor seating for him. There are 6 outdoor tables on a covered patio. I really loved the place - So cute and clean! It didn't bother me that staff wasn't wearing masks. The one thing that did bother me was people smoking at the patio tables - and nasty ash trays on the tables. At today's lunch, I had the Chicken & Dumplings which was the Tuesday special. It was served in a large soup bowl. Very flavorful with lots of tender, shredded chicken and lots of thick, chicken broth. There were not many dumplings, but overall, the dish was good and very appropriate for a chilly afternoon. Served with either a side of cole slaw or apple sauce. I went with apple sauce and it tasted homemade. I will definitely be back if I'm in the area. Highly reccomend! read more

This restaurant, I heard was a favorite of the locals in Sebring. I tried the breakfast figuring it should be fairly good. The eggs were ok, the hash browns look exactly like they came from McDonald's. The biscuits were dry and doughy, the sausage gravy had a surplus of flour balls that never got blended into the gravy. An okay place if your just looking for grub. read more

We love that hometown diner atmosphere and this place for sure has it. The place was very busy but we got right in and our food came really quick. The staff was all very friendly and checked on us frequently. My kids both got the spaghetti and loved it! My youngest is usually a slow eater but she may have been the first one done at this meal. Sebring Diner is classic diner food and I stopped in for weekday breakfast. Not much going on, despite some traffic on Highway 27. I had a booth in the corner to myself and I read through the entire newspaper in peace. Corned beef hash omelet with home fries and toast. It was as good as it gets. Tasty fluffy egg folded around hash and then topped with a slice of cheese. The potatoes were a little greasy and some were a bit underdone, but the rest were quite good. Toast was perfectly toasted. Coffee was decent. Huge parking lot facing the road. All in all, a good way to start the day! read more
