We came to check out the renovated circle including Sophie's which we saw on HGTV. The restaurant renovation is fantastic. We got a large Cuban sandwich ( large enough to split) , also got the beans and rice. Looking at the apps/ sides we decided to try a pork tamale ($2.75) .... This was so good! Do your self a favor and try this .... Amazing. We took our order to go and ate on a table, under an umbrella in the park / circle. The folks here were very friendly and we'd def come back

The food is delicious, the service is professional & friendly, and the restaurant is clean and beautiful. Don't forget to grab some pastries, real fruit juice and some Cuban coffee

Cute place close to home. Small and inviting. Food was good as was the other location. Everyone was friendly as well. Took a bit to get the check. But it's ok. Worth a try if you are in the area !! This was the downtown location that opened recently.

"Let's take a swim to Cuba in Sebring" is how I felt when I walked in here . The place is really clean first thing I noticed . The food menu is nicely done and priced . The pastry counter is clean and full of variety. I had two pastry's and a breakfast sandwich , complimented with Coloda coffee and it was still better priced and better food quality than any other breakfast place in town . Good job team keep up the great work .

I had high hopes for this establishment but sadly, the excitement fizzled out rather quickly. My parents and I were in town to manage some properties we have and decided to try out Sophie's for the Cuban cuisine. My mom is Cuban and I grew up in Miami so I know good Cuban food. The food wasn't bad, but it also wasn't anything special, I ordered the shrimp with the red sauce and it was room temperature, so was the rice that came with it. We were sat inside around golden hour and the light coming through front glass doors was pretty uncomfortable shining directly at me; this is just a technicality but an observation that could be made by any of the staff and perhaps improved by moving the dining table to another spot. Service was not the best, employees were not very welcoming and lacked excitement and friendliness. There were a couple times we tried engaging in conversation with them about the opening of the restaurant and they wouldn't even respond. Kinda robotic... not sure I'll be returning. It has a lot of potential though!

We were visiting family in the Lake Placid area and they suggested driving to Sebring to try this place. Everything we had here was amazing. I got the (half) Cuban sandwich with fries and a guava lemonade. Others in our party got the Beef Stew and the BLT. We all loved the food. For dessert I got a guava pastry. It did not disappoint. When we were finishing up, the owner stopped by our table and chatted. She was an authentically nice person. I would love to come back and try the coffee and other Cuban entrees! Highly recommend!

Authentic Cuban coffee. Authentic Cuban sandwich was fresh and delicious. I felt welcomed here.

Excellent!! Breakfast and lunch, both great! Check it out. Will try their second location next time I'm in Sebring.

The Mother-in-law ordered the Denver omelet, and it was just as tasty. A special shout-out to Nora J. for providing excellent, friendly service. She was attentive, welcoming, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal. What I really like is that this isn't your typical chain restaurant. It has its own charm, serves fresh, flavorful food, and offers a much more personal dining experience. I'll definitely be back for breakfast again! Over the last two months, I have eaten at Village Inn in Sebring several times. During those visits, the service was excellent, the food was consistently good, and I was impressed enough to leave a very favorable review. Today, however, was a completely different story. The restaurant was not particularly busy, yet my food took an unusually long time to arrive. While waiting, I was seated near the kitchen and could clearly hear employees engaging in loud horseplay and unprofessional behavior, which did not create a very welcoming dining atmosphere. I started with a cup of the pork green chili, which I normally enjoy. It is usually served with crackers, but none were brought out. When I asked for crackers, a cracker container was brought to the table, but the crackers inside were stale and soggy. When I politely mentioned this to my server, the response was simply, "That's how we get them," before walking away. There was no apology or attempt to correct the issue. When my cheeseburger finally arrived, it was severely overcooked and very disappointing. Everyone can have an off day, and that's understandable. What concerns me most is the noticeable difference between the excellent experiences I've had previously and the poor service and food quality I received today. I truly hope this was an isolated incident because I have enjoyed dining here in the past. For now, though, I'll be taking a break before returning.

Chicanes Promises Upscale Dining but Delivers an Uneven Experience…read more Chicanes carries itself like an upscale dining room, which is why the night's missteps stood out more than they should have. The evening began on a sour note, and not because of anything on the plate. A heavy downpour had turned the entrance into a shallow lake with slick footing, the kind that makes every step feel unsure. My husband took a hard fall, wrenching his back and bruising his hip. Another guest later mentioned the same slick approach, which tells me this is more than bad luck. For a restaurant that draws an older crowd, safety at the door should not be an afterthought. Inside, the welcome was much warmer. The staff was friendly and our server Ethan handled the holiday rush with calm attention. He stayed present without hovering and made sure we had what we needed. If only the kitchen had matched his level of care. The Thanksgiving menu looked promising, but the execution never quite reached the level the price tag promised. The lobster arrived overcooked and clinging stubbornly to its shell. The sauce meant to lift it fell flat. The butternut squash bisque was pleasant enough, though short on depth. The apple walnut salad was a clear winner. Crisp, balanced, and bright. It deserves a permanent spot on the menu. The entrées continued the theme of missed opportunities. The vegetables needed seasoning, especially the Brussels sprouts, which tasted like they had skipped the last step before leaving the kitchen. The potatoes au gratin stole the show, rich and comforting, which only highlighted how muted everything else tasted. For a meal tipping the scale at around $140, the food should meet the standard the setting implies. Chicanes has the bones of a great restaurant. The staff is strong, the room is inviting, and the menu choices read well. But the flavors need more care, more confidence, and more seasoning. A place aiming for an upscale experience has to deliver more than ambiance. There is potential here, but potential is not enough at this price. With steadier footing at the entrance and sharper execution in the kitchen, Chicanes could be worth the splurge. Tonight, it wasn't.

    - ACE build-your-own Tacos! -…read more Who doesn't like buffets and when it's tacos, you can expect a lot of smiling faces and of course, food comas! This review covers the buffet only, but you can read my previous reviews for everything else. Ambience- Fairly large space with standard booths and tables. Everything is clean. Customer Service- Drinks refilled as needed. Plates quickly cleared and the check processed quickly. What's not to like! ACE Taco Buffet- It's in a small separate room, just off the main dining room. There are two standard buffet tables. One for hot items and one for cold. You have hard shell, taco bowls for taco salad and soft tortillas. The soft come in foil wrapped packages of three kept warm by the buffet. Nice! Start at the hot table and begin to build. For meats, you have seasoned ground beef, chicken, pork and fajita chicken with peppers and onions. Add some rice and refried beans. Oh, by the way, there was also what looked like chicken tortilla soup available. Move over to the cold table for lettuce, tomato, onions, salsas, cheese, sour cream etc. You'll also find some chocolate cake to finish off your food coma! Everything was the correct temperature and most Importantly tasted fresh and delicious. Expect to pay around $12.99 + drink. It this crazy economy, of course it could change. Conclusion- As long as you're not expecting gourmet food, I suspect you're going to give this taco experience 5 stars!

The inside dining room is wonderful! A true old-fashioned tropical feel. Our waiter was a little odd, but competent. I wasn't real hungry, so I just had a shrimp cocktail. My friend had the duck. The shrimp cocktail was delicious, the cocktail sauce, a bit spicy. Had too much pepper for me. When I mentioned that to the waiter, he told me it was not spicy. He said it only had pepper in it. I said well after I mixed it was a little better. I don't think a waiter should contradict what a customer says if there is a problem; he should help to alleviate the issue. Obviously, somebody didn't stir the cocktail sauce well, still the pepper was a bit heavy. What's troubling is I specifically asked the waiter if the sauce would be hot , as in spicy. My friend said the duck was very nice. As I recall, they served some complementary bread and it was good. I hope to go back to Palm Heights, where this restaurant is located, and I am sure to go back to Tillies.
