Family owned and operated. Service and food were excellent. Very clean dining area and bathrooms. We were on the road and just stopped in after we saw the billboard. Best idea ever! Highly recommend!

Egg salad sandwich with loaded potato salad and fish sandwich with coleslaw

The service was fast and friendly. Dining area was clean. The food was very tasty. Nice variety on the menu of sandwiches, soups, sides and desserts.

Beautiful Cafe with open kitchen seating about 30.

Hurricane Irma dealt them a heavy blow and their legions of loyal customers were seriously worried, but they bounced back and are as awesome as ever! Arriving- Easy peasy to find with no tricks or challenges. The parking is adequate, and I've never had a problem. Ambience- It's a deli folks! Huge blackboards show you the extensive menu. I gave you a pic of just one of several panels. Tables, a covered patio, and a counter that seats about 40 folks all together. Note that the counter has a couple of power outlets for a quick phone charge. Nice! Pro Tip- They have their own Wi-Fi, but I didn't bother asking for the password as I connected to the nearby Xfinity Hot Spot. Customer Service- You order and pay at the counter. The drinks are serve-yourself. If you are eating in, someone will drop off your food at your table but there really isn't table service. All the folks that have touched me over several visits have been just fine. Food- I'm addicted to the Rachel! It's like a pastrami Reuben but with Cole slaw instead of sauerkraut. I guess sauerkraut was a little too strong for Rachel! I added fries and a small fountain drink, and the pre-tip tab was about $16. I've had this exact lunch several times and it always blows me away. Savory pastrami and crisp, fresh Cole slaw on toasted rye makes an excellent sandwich. The piping hot fries were well cooked. I was stuffed and smiling as usual. An easy 4-stars!

From the…read moremoment I walked in, I was treated like I didn't belong the woman who took my order was rude and dismissive, and the way she spoke to me compared to other customers was completely different. My family has been in South Florida for generations, so to be treated like I'm some outsider was insulting. As for the food? Absolutely terrible. The chicken was dry, salty, and clearly frozen definitely not fresh. For the prices they charge, you'd expect way better quality. Meanwhile, the family seated next to us was treated like royalty: their food was brought out to them, they were asked if they needed anything else, while we were shouted at across the deli like farm animals. And to top it all off there was mold in the ice machine. That alone is enough reason to never go back. This place was a total disappointment, and I'll never eat here again.

I was blowing by and wanted a quick breakfast so boom, I was there! Arriving- They are in front of a Lowes and adjacent to a Starbucks. You need to wind your way around and it's a little weird. Parking is no problem. Ambience- Worlds away from fast food. Genuinely pleasant with nice tables and booths that were spotlessly clean. Pro Tip- This location does not have its own Wi-Fi but there is a Xfinity Hot Spot nearby. The App- I fired up my well-designed app, chose dine-in and placed and paid for my order. Within seconds my order status appeared on a screen near the pick-up window. Nice! It was ready in less than five minutes. Customer Service- Two folks touched me at the pick-up window, and they were very pleasant. Not much else to say. Food- I ordered a Sausage, Egg & Cheese on Ciabatta. I paired it with an Iced Latte. The tab was $11.80. My sandwich was hot and bursting with flavor. OMG, it was actually served on a plate instead of wrapped. My Latte was spot on. It would be even better if there was a full liquor license. The icing on the cake is two-for-one on all alcohol drinks including Long Island Iced Teas! No, it's not a dream. Read on- Arriving- These folks are in a large plaza on the northbound side of US Route 27. Signage is not great, but your GPS will work its magic. Even though it's a plaza, parking is irregular, and you may need to walk a bit. Ambience- Nothing special and a little darker than you might expect. Standard Americanized Chinese/Japanese décor, lots of booths and the expected hibachi tables. Speaking of booths, my dining partner noted duct tape on her booth seat and frowned. Free Wi-Fi with no password. It's slow but usable. Customer Service- In my experience, always exceptional! The young lady serving us this visit was pleasant and extremely knowledgeable of the menu. She checked in throughout our lunch and when we were leaving, we were discussing how awesome she was! Adult Libations- Full bar here and these folks are famous for two-for-one drinks all the time! Don't expect fancy glassware or all kinds of embellishments to your drink but at two-for-one pricing, do you care? Food- These folks are the poster child for "typical." The Chinese, Japanese, and Hibachi menus are exactly what you have seen in a thousand other places. My dining partner and I both went with the standard Chinese combo lunch plates. Me Bourbon Chicken and General Tsao for her. Both came with Pork Fried Rice and an Eggroll. We could have substituted soup for the eggroll. They went for about $11 each. To drink I opted for two-for-one Sangria @ $8 and my partner ordered a Bobba drink @ $5. The food and drink were solid across the board. Nothing fancy but solid, filling, tasty food at a decent price point. We both agreed that the eggroll was nice and crisp, and the filling was delicious! So, you get the option of three styles of food and cheap drinks. The food is going to be at least three and maybe four stars with excellent service. I'm going with four stars!

Chicanes Promises Upscale Dining but Delivers an Uneven Experience…read more Chicanes carries itself like an upscale dining room, which is why the night's missteps stood out more than they should have. The evening began on a sour note, and not because of anything on the plate. A heavy downpour had turned the entrance into a shallow lake with slick footing, the kind that makes every step feel unsure. My husband took a hard fall, wrenching his back and bruising his hip. Another guest later mentioned the same slick approach, which tells me this is more than bad luck. For a restaurant that draws an older crowd, safety at the door should not be an afterthought. Inside, the welcome was much warmer. The staff was friendly and our server Ethan handled the holiday rush with calm attention. He stayed present without hovering and made sure we had what we needed. If only the kitchen had matched his level of care. The Thanksgiving menu looked promising, but the execution never quite reached the level the price tag promised. The lobster arrived overcooked and clinging stubbornly to its shell. The sauce meant to lift it fell flat. The butternut squash bisque was pleasant enough, though short on depth. The apple walnut salad was a clear winner. Crisp, balanced, and bright. It deserves a permanent spot on the menu. The entrées continued the theme of missed opportunities. The vegetables needed seasoning, especially the Brussels sprouts, which tasted like they had skipped the last step before leaving the kitchen. The potatoes au gratin stole the show, rich and comforting, which only highlighted how muted everything else tasted. For a meal tipping the scale at around $140, the food should meet the standard the setting implies. Chicanes has the bones of a great restaurant. The staff is strong, the room is inviting, and the menu choices read well. But the flavors need more care, more confidence, and more seasoning. A place aiming for an upscale experience has to deliver more than ambiance. There is potential here, but potential is not enough at this price. With steadier footing at the entrance and sharper execution in the kitchen, Chicanes could be worth the splurge. Tonight, it wasn't.
