I organize luncheons for a group of ladies from The Venetian Golf & River Club named the J.U.L.I.E.T.S. We had 16 ladies in attendance and we couldn't be happier with the staff (managers, chef, servers) at the Deep Lagoon Seafood & Oyster House. The staff set up two tables for our group in the back of the dining room along the back wall. Our server was courteous, attentive and provided excellent service. Our group was given two menus to order from. The first was a smaller "lite" luncheon menu and included tacos, grouper sandwiches, coconut fried shrimp salad and a tropical seafood salad. The second was the all-day menu which I believe only one person ordered from. The lunches were prepared perfectly with fresh ingredients. Portions were perfect. Flavors of the individual dishes were tasty with everyone raving about their individual lunches. Overall, everyone was happy with their dining experience with most of the ladies who had not visited before indicated that they would be coming back. A win-win for our group and for the Deep Lagoon! My husband and I have been here twice now and love it! It's about 3 miles from where we live and wish we would have tried it sooner. We've had the coconut shrimp, calamari, salmon, captains platter, chicken fra diavolo, pine apple upside down cake and all have been amazing! We sat outside both times and the way they have some air out on the patio along with the shades is perfect. You get a great view of the ICW. We had great service both times and never felt like we were being rushed. We did make reservations both times so I'm sure that helped with getting seated right away. read more

Deep Lagoon is a classy joint, lots to look at and a great menu. The place was packed with women in their 50s dressed liked 18 year olds. That's par for the course here in Florida. They had a ton of employees, and they were all running around like crazy. We had ordered ceviche but I'm guessing the waiter forgot about since it never showed up. We weren't charged so we never even mentioned it. They have an extensive drink menu, but nothing very interesting. I loved everything about my meal (Swordfish Napoleon), but the hubbies Grouper Oscar had only a teaspoon of crab which was a disappointment. We will be back...happy hour is in our future. read more

Very busy restaurant so make a reservation. Food is good but prices are high. We will return but for special occasions.

We enjoyed a Sunday evening dinner. We were graciously greeted and seated promptly. Blake was our server and was knowledgeable about the menu items and was able to tell us able items that helped us make a selection. They have a nifty drink and dessert menu that is electronic so you can peruse the brands carried by the restaurant. This presents no surprises for the patron when it comes to the bill. Our entrees were very generous, Grouper Oscar and Tripletail and very delicious. This chef knows how to create wonderful tasty meals. Great new restaurant in Osprey. Huge restaurant with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor area has a wonderful waterfront view. We got tropical mahi, lobster pasta, and the bread basket. Was enticed to visit after seeing a review for the recently opened Blue Lagoon in Osprey - and the photos and review were spot on. Love the clean, modern feel of the venue, and while the view is not of the Gulf, seeing the interior waterway with boats arriving and departing was great. We sat inside (it's still summer in Florida), but the outdoor dining looked great as well. We love fish, but I think asking the server for their suggestion may be a wise idea at this restaurant. Our salmon and swordfish 5-oz portions were just right - but looked to be fresh from the freezer. Several different sides are available with the meal. A big surprise when we arrived was the wine special of $30 off per bottle of wine - with the purchase of 2 entrées! (I believe it runs through October.) read more

I am so glad I waited to review this place after giving it a third chance. First two visits were very underwhelming. Entrees seemed pricy for very basic fish dinners, cocktails basic, staff was ok. Deep Lagoon was a 5/5 experience. From the friendly staff, spectacular view overlooking the Marina, easy parking, and great drinks; I will definitely be back. We started off the night with gator bites and oysters, got a main course of chicken tacos, and finished with some cocktails. We normally love Deep Lagoon, but tonight we had a horrible experience there. It is Halloween, and perhaps Giovanni (our server) had something else on his mind. He put water down, never asked us for our drink order and disappeared for over ten minutes. Later, we saw him talking to the girls at the hostess station. We finally got up to leave, I was looking right at him and he did not even acknowledge his ignoring us. I told the bartender we were leaving and she apologized and kindly asked if we wanted to sit at the bar. My husband had had enough and said no. We told the (I think he was) manager and he was very apologetic as well. We will be back to try again, but this was a terrible "welcome back" for these snowbirds who have supported your gift card promotions during your slow season. Sad. read more

Deep Lagoon was a breath of Sunshine. It is a beautiful location on the bay with terrific views with inside and outside tables. Not only was the food Absolutely cooked to perfection. The Waitstaff was very personable and attentive. We will be returning real soon! read more

The restaurant is beautiful and very relaxing. The service was amazing as well. Someone in our group got an overcooked steak and they quickly sent another one. The food itself was just not good however. The coconut shrimp were way overcooked and almost burnt and just didn't feel like sending it back. I think working a little harder at better quality cooking would be good. Will go there again for a drink and an app but never for a dinner again. read more

I love this place. Excellent water view, food, ambiance, and service. We moved here from California last year. Since it was our first time here, Marty, the young wait staff, was friendly, patient in going through the menu with us, and he was completely attentive to our needs throughout our visit. Except for the Fish and chips hubby ordered everything else we ordered surpassed our expectations and more! We had a Friday night reservation for a party of two; first time visitors. The place was packed and quite noisy, but very lively too. The a/c must have been on low, because it was really warm inside. Our waitress was great, super efficent and friendly. Definitely try the crab rangoons, delicious! CON: We waited at least 40 minutes for our meal after the appetizer was served. Was told the kitchen was backed up due to a large party. If the service is like that on a regular basis, they need to fix it somehow. We made reservations for 14 two days prior.We were seated at a table too small for our party with the evening sun in the eyes of half our group.When we asked the window shades to be lowered we were told the setting sun would soon be low enough that it wouldn't be necessary to lower the shade. Sometime later, with half our party shielding their eyes as they ate, the shades were finally lowered. My meal was served nearly cold and had to be reheated. My wife and i joined another couple for lunch here-it was our first time, they had been several times. We sat outside and had a wonderful view of the bay-if possible, I recommend asking for a table on the rail, much better view. Why the three stars-The service was very slow, there was a mistake on our checks and it took another 15 minutes to sort out. My wife order the PEI clams Sorrento style and the portion was extremely small-if you order this, do so as an appetizer. Our friends half fish and chips was another small portion-one small fried fish and some onion rings. I ordered triple tail fish tacos-they could be cooked fare, fried or blackened style. The waiter never gave a good explanation of what style fare was-he kept saying they are fried-well they were battered fried, the same as our friend who ordered FRIED. We can say we have dined here, when asked, however probably will not be back despite the wonderful view. read more

Ate our Thanksgiving meal there, Turkey and traditional sides. They should sick to fish. Turkey was tasteless and looked like a processed roll. One side that was good were the green beans. When the manager came by to ask about the meal; wife told her that it was like we were at an Applebees not a higher end restaurant we usually enjoy. She substituted her meal for a fish dinner ( not very TGish) but appreciated the gesture. Nice view and clean dining area. Attentive waiter. Fast service.
