They were extremely helpful with making sure it all went smoothly, which made me eager to try the restaurant for myself when I visited this year. Within minutes of stepping through their doors and taking a seat, I knew Brine was going to become one of my new favorites. The staff are all super attentive and really take the time to get to know their guests. It was so nice to hear wait staff greeting their regulars by name, celebrating birthdays with them and talking about important milestones as if they were part of their family. The food completely blew me out of the water - the ingredients fresh and packed with flavor. My family's favorite appetizer is the Brooklyn Style Wings - maybe because we are from Brooklyn, but the wings are addicting with the flavors of sausage, peppers, and a vinegary sauce. The burger was the most surprising of them all, with big flavor and smokiness infused into every bite of meat. Oysters were clean, fish was fresh, and the homemade chips had the perfect crunch. I'm so glad I discovered Brine, but now am so disappointed that I don't live in Sarasota full time to be able to dine here more often. The chef was willing to to place the soup in two smaller portions-- essentially sharing one cup of soup. It was the best lobster bisque I have ever had. The bisque was creamy, not salty as some bisques can be and had chunks of lobster in it. We each had the hogfish. Blackened. This fish was unknown to us but it was delightful, the portions were large. It came with two sides. I had the black beans and rice and the wontons with a mango tomato salsa. Scrumptious. My sister's sides were the creamy coleslaw with just the right amount of mayo so as not to be runny and the sweet potato fries which were seasoned with just the right amount cinnamon sugar. Jasmin was our server and she answered all of our questions about the fish which is caught fresh from the Gulf each day. She was very welcoming and made us feel like we were visiting friends. We washed it all down with a couple local beers on tap and called it a perfect afternoon. The servers were great and even suggested a beer that paired really well with the meal, which was a nice touch. Parking is easy, and the view adds to the whole experience. You can sit back and watch boats cruising by while others are getting launched or lifted out of the water by the massive forklifts at the marina. It's just a really cool atmosphere. Obviously reviewed here on Yelp and Google (I will cross post this review on both) this looked like it was going to be tasty and enjoyable "MAINE COURSE!!!" It was! I have no idea who many actual lobsters or tacos and sandwich or desserts we took down but it looks like most of the 30 plus at the meeting were eating and enjoying themselves. I got the signature Maine Lobster (Lobstah) Roll, with/cole slaw & bag of (of course) Cape Cod chips. The buttery bread/roll and the lobster were stunning!!!!! Not little lobster bisque scraps of lobster!!! This was tail and claw hunks o' meat!!! REALLY nice. Also I got the New England Clam Chowder (Chowdah) to make sure I tried their main items (and keep it under 6,000 calories for the meal!!!!) I love Dry Dock Waterfront Grill and I always visit when I am in the Sarasota area. Dry Dock is always busy so I am also sure to make a reservation in advance using Open Table. Typically we sit inside but I know the back patio is popular too. If your timing and patience is perfect, you can also get a nice a nice window seat in the dining room that has sweeping views of Sarasota Bay. The inside atmosphere is bright and airy and although airy often translates to loud, Dry Dock thoughtfully put noise dampening panels on the ceiling. As far as food, I don't think you can go wrong. I always get something with grouper whether it be an entree, sandwich or tacos. On my most recent visit I got the grouper filet with coconut shrimp because I had originally been eyeing up the coconut shrimp as an appetizer. Ultimately, we decided to get the rock crab claws for an appetizer which were good but more work than I planned even though they were pre-cracked. I felt like a Neanderthal trying to eat those crab claws in such a nice restaurant. No offense to the Neanderthals, of course! I have no idea what my husband had as it disappeared. After entrees, apps and bread, we were too stuffed for dessert. I think our server was Cari and she was awesome! Attentive, friendly, funny and quite possibly a mind reader and magician.
