    vodka pasta

Our meal at Pazzo was absolutely phenomenal and our server McKenna was a darling. I can't wait to return!! This is real authentic Italian and on Sunday they have a special sunday sauce that was incredible. Everyone at the table couldn't get over how delicious the vodka pasta was and the portions are INSANE. Food is excellent, service is excellent and the decor is adorable- especially holiday themed right now. Will become familial regulars.

Dinner for our party of 6 was unreal! Samantha our server helped make this yummy restaurant one of the best Italian places we've had in a while. Bottles of wine were flowing and nothing our table ordered did not disappoint. If ur in Sarasota for vacation or a night out, run don't walk to this gem!!

Our first time at Pazzo. Went to dinner on NYE at 6pm. Restaurant was fairly busy but had lots of open tables. We opted to sit outside under the lights. The restaurant next door had live music that was beautiful! Greeted quickly with water and bread service. Love the hot chili oil on the table for the bread! Bread was warm, not sure if it was homemade but it was good! There were no NYE specials. We started with the fried calamari which was delicious! Perfectly crisp, lightly fried and hot! Came with two delicious sauces, I loved the lemon butter sauce. I'm sad to say after that I was underwhelmed. I had the orecchiette pasta, which despite having chicken, sun dried tomatoes and broccoli it was just blah. No real flavor or taste. The sauce was a chicken broth oil sauce. Honestly I was very disappointed. I had to put quite a bit of salt and the hot chili oil on it to really taste anything. My husband loved his chicken parm, as it came with two big pieces of chicken with lots of cheese. Probably could have used a bit more pasta to go with all that chicken. Not sure if the pasta was homemade but that would have been nice to know. They only had one dessert option, a set of three cannolis. It was delicious but was really hoping for Tiramisu. It was a nice place to try but probably won't be back.

Went for lunch as soon as they opened. Sat outside with our party of seven including three small kids. The staff was very accommodating and split entrees for the kids (there is no children's menu). We started with baked clams that were excellent-save your bread to dip in the garlic sauce. The pizza is perfect- thin and crunchy crust -best we've had in the area. The sandwiches were huge and delicious. The short Rib Sandwich meat was tender perfectly seasoned and served on seeded Italian bread. Caesar salad side was generous with shaved Parmesan and great dressing. We can't wait to come back for a kid free dinner. The patio is beautiful with string lights and an outdoor fireplace.

My house vodka martini was great & only $6! We shared ate almost entirely off the HH menu - bruschetta, caesar salad, bolognese, & the pasta with mushroom sauce. Pasta is homemade & you can get it off the HH menu! We even got a bread basket served to us! We indulged in profiteroles for dessert. The bartender was wonderful. The interior looks very nice. Outside they have plenty of tables. Would definitely go back to this place.

I came back for an actual meal…read more They start the meal off with bread and a marinara-olive oil (see previous review for similar thoughts). For an appetizer, the gnocchi alla Bolognese was ordered for the table. It was homemade potato gnocchi with a Bolognese sauce and whipped ricotta. This was very good. The homemade gnocchi was light and flavorful while there was plenty of meat in the sauce. The ricotta just added to it. For an entrée, I split the Cernia in Crosta, and a pappardelle special. The Cernia was fresh herb-crusted Gulf grouper with lobster scampi sauce, grilled asparagus and potatoes. The grouper was a very generous size. The fish was cooked ideally, and the herb-crust really was flavorful. I thought the actual grouper could have been seasoned more, but not a huge deal. The scampi sauce was good too. The pasta special was homemade pappardelle in a brandy cream sauce with five scallops present. This was a simple dish done right. The pappardelle was perfectly cooked while the brandy cream sauce was light, but flavorful. The scallops had a nice char on them with enough flavor. I also tried a sausage link, that was too salty. I also tried the spinaci e caprine salad. It contained baby spinach, crispy prosciutto, truffle honey, multiple pieces of fruit, candied walnuts, and goat cheese. This was well put together and even the truffle honey was not too overpowerful like I thought it might.

We didn't take any pictures (which should tell you how fast we dove in), but here's the breakdown: 3 lobster ravioli (including me) 1 truffle ravioli 1 clams and linguine 1 chicken parm And I'm not exaggerating when I say we didn't speak to each other until our plates were cleared. Total silence. Just pure focus. I'm not usually a truffle fan, but when I tried my wife's truffle ravioli, I immediately understood the hype. It wasn't incredible rich (helped me not feel like I needed to be wheeled out afterwards), balanced, and packed with flavor without being overpowering. I genuinely wanted to trade plates. My lobster ravioli was perfect. Not overly heavy, not drowning in sauce just loaded with flavor and cooked exactly right. I would highly recommend this dish to anyone going. The clams and linguine and the chicken parm both got rave reviews from the table too. No weak links anywhere. Our server was kind, attentive, and quick without rushing us. She made the experience even better and handled a busy night like a pro. Pro tip: Make a reservation. We booked on OpenTable and were seated right away on what looked like a packed night. Also, if you park next door like we did pay the meter. Trust me. We learned that lesson the hard way on this trip. If you're in Siesta Key and craving authentic, high-quality Italian, Café Gabbiano is a must. We'll definitely be back.
