Pizza Napoletana come si deve fare! We came to Antonio's Pizza Pit after a long day of walking, touring and doing a museum day in Sarasota. We were a pretty big group with lots of hungry children and adults. Emphasis on the hungry. Definitely came to the right place! When you first pull up, you can't really tell what you're getting into since from the outside it's pretty unassuming. Well, you're definitely in for a surprise. Not only is this a pizza shop but also your dessert spot! Hear me out: pizza AND donuts??? What other combo (besides bread and nutella) could there be?? Their personal pizza is the perfect size for you to enjoy alone (esp if you're hungry) but can also be shared if you're saving room for a craft donut. We were pretty hungry and each ordered a pizza: Quattro formaggi and a margherita (only $10). The pizza here is made only with the freshest ingredients and it's for sure some of the best authentic Italian pizza you will eat in the area. The place is simple: you order at the register, wait for Antonio to make his magic and sit at one of the tables. No waiters, no fuzz, just delicious high quality pizza. Absolutely obsessed with this place, our huge group loved it and it's absolutely worth every bite. From the labor of love it's made with to the ingredients to the caffè at the end. Antonio, the owner & chef, was born and raised in Italy, near Naples, and has opened several pizza spots in Sarasota over the past few years. He's young, ambitious, and warm. He always smiles and laughs and uplifts you with his positive energy. Best customer service. All his food is carefully prepared with quality ingredients that speak for themselves. I'm not a pizza fan because carbs make me feel bloated and heavy. However, Antonio's food is an exception. His pizzas are Naples style pizzas. The dough is thin and light. Even for someone with carb sensitivity like myself can enjoy something so delicious without feeling horrible afterwards. His freshly made focaccia is also superb. You could ask for a custom pizzas and he'll gladly oblige your imagination. Will return every time I'm in Sarasota. Super casual space saves on rent. Food is as delicious as at his previous location. This is supposed to be a meatball sub!!! it's on flatbread no sauce, two meatballs and totally burnt tasted horrible. The pizza was raw no flavor in any of this. I called to complain or to get my money back. I should say and he wants me to bring the pizza back. I've never heard of such a thing. Trying this place for the first time. I'm a local and always looking for new places. I write this review with heavy heart. I really wanted to love this place. My wife went in and was very happy with the service. Very friendly and a clean establishment. She explained that we would like a crispy pizza with no flop. They said over and over that I got you. I got you. The other employee said our pizzas have no flop. See the pictures below. The good thing is, the flavor was delicious. But when you ask for crispy, you expect some crunchy crust and a good undercarriage. It had neither and we were very disappointed. I could understand if we didn't ask for that specifically. But my wife did, and we are very disappointed in the final product. They use turbo chef pro ovens there that cook pizza perfectly if you know how to use them. After finally finding excellent Pizza a few years ago at Atmosphere; only to then be disappointed when they closed, we had to start the search, again. We found a few places where we found the pies acceptable, but not great. Then we saw an add for Jacks Donuts that included Antonio's who made the Pizza at Atmosphere.
