I really wanted to like this place. And I believe all the reviews that say the pizza is exceptional. I do highly respect the chef as well. He has a great reputation locally. The first thing you might be greeted with is the older gentleman who greets you at the door saying " Do you have a reservation? We can't guarantee a seat unless you have a reservation. I'll see what I can do. I'll try to do you a favor." It's not particularly customer friendly. If you're lucky enough to get a seat, the waiters seem to be capable and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, they recommended a pizza with burrata to us, which sounded delicious. I think in Italy they usually serve the burrata cold on top of the warm pizza. I've seen this in other Italian/ Pizza restaurants. We took the advice and ordered that pizza, but in our opinion, the burrata dulls the heat of the pizza, and makes it lukewarm bordering on cool. Which kind of ruined the hot pizza experience to me. Ambiance is pretty basic, not unpleasant, but not noteworthy. Hope to come back and give it another shot. Our visit wasn't great. read more

New management. The pizza was just not the same or as delicious as I had remembered it. They also don't serve sandwiches at the moment. I placed a pick-up order for two pizzas and a third menu item, the San Carlos sandwich. No problem, they said. They will make it for me if I tell them the ingredients, they said. I even talked about how the San Carlos sandwich was so good, asked when they would bring it back, and how grateful I was they'd make it for me. Got home and open the boxes to see that they gave me three pizzas, and no sandwich. The pizza was not sliced through completely and we had to try to cut the slices apart at home. Middle of the pizza was too thin and everything just fell apart when we tried to pull the slices apart. I put the leftovers in the fridge and heated some up in an oven the next day...tasted much, much better. Had it at a high heat as well so it was no longer floppy and still chewy. Giving this place 3 stars because the leftovers tasted much better than the fresh and the interior got a nice face lift. The only pizza that people enjoyed was the Mortazza and it was a very good mortazza. Since we used to like the place before new management took over, I'll be giving this place another try and dine-in instead of take out. Hands down best pizza I've ever had! What a hidden gem. Everything we ordered was delicious. Started with the Arancini on special which was 3 large rice balls filled with rice, bolognese and peas. Perfect! Caesar salad was incredible with wisps of anchovy in the dressing. I could have eaten only this and been happy. Mortadella is always my favorite and the Mortazza pizza was out of this world! The mix of mortadella with pistachio pesto and whole pistachios was delicious. Simple and divine. The Vesuvius was a complex masterpiece with tomatoes, prosciutto, burrata, arugula and truffle oil. Also had the Verde which was also an incredible white pie with speck, basil pesto and stracciatella. Finished with tiramisu which was tasty! It had a layer of cinnamon on top which I think would have been better as cocoa powder but I enjoyed nonetheless. Overall, Atmosphere impressed me beyond belief and I'm sad I live across the country but will be coming back every single time I visit Florida. Also the owner Antonio is a joy! At least of the three employees are from Italy and the the pizza artisan who works the brick oven is from Naples, which is where pizza is purported to have been invented. The quality comes through--the crust is made from scratch. I asked the server if the pasta is made from scratch and he paused and replied, "of course it is." The desserts are also house made. The sign outside the strip Mall restaurant merely states "Pizza" but the food is unique for the area and a special. The atmosphere is traditional and warm. The description of the spinach salad sounded excellent, with grilled speck, goat cheese, & truffle honey, but it was mostly a bowl of spinach & underwhelming. The ham was overcooked, even burnt on the edges, & the honey was barely there. The Pizza Vesuvio was tasty but thin &, therefore, very soggy towards the middle. The dough is fluffy at the crust and thin on the bottom, however I do believe the thinness complements the wood fire oven beautifully . Pizza is light on cheese, but as a cheese lover the sauce is balanced and the cheese has a clean base flavor that makes you say I can't believe this pizza is this good and it doesn't have tons of cheese on it. Eats like a 3/10 messy, like you'll notice it's got weak integrity but it's a personal pizza so maybe i shouldn't take 45 minutes to eat half. As someone who picks at something throughout the day however, if dough saw improvement this place is an easy 9.3- 8.4/10 Honey focaccia bread - mild sweet savory combo with the honey and real parmesan Reggiano. Oregano provides a home for this combo to sit in and it is a loving home. Dough is thin, wanted thicker n fluffier. 7.9/10 Service was phenomenal. I'll be back again. The people were great. From the outside is just a regular Pizza sign above the pizzeria but as you walk in is such a humbling experience. Antonio is the mastermind behind Atmosphere. It's a small establishment with amazing staff and everyone plays a big role in making it such a success. Although Antonio is mainly in charge of the pizza, he's attention to detail is superb. I didn't share this in my last review, but the service wasn't great...kind of alluded to the fact that the waiter messed up on my pizza because he just didn't listen. Went back because I do like their pizza but the service was even more appalling. Same guy (not the Italian owner) sat us near the noisy bar when they had at least 4-5 tables free further away. Not only that but we actually made a reservation. This was annoying but I could get over it. What I can't get over is that my pizza sat there for a good 10 minutes so by the time I got it, it was lukewarm. Neapolitan pizza doesn't taste good lukewarm. Both our waiter and the waitress were so clueless. What a great way to destroy a perfectly good product from this restaurant with lousy service. If I were the owner of this place, I'd place some cameras to see how his workers are doing. This place is tiny so you can't really claim that the wait staff is that busy. Disappointing. read more

To find such a good pizza in Sarasota was a delightful surprise. The owner/pizzaiolo is a very nice guy and the place is small but cozy. The dough is VERY good, so were the different topics we tried. I even bought a frozen pre -cooked one to take home, and after 12 minutes in my oven few days later it was delicious. The only disturbing thing was our waiter who wore a T shirt with the word INFOWARS written.... Very unnecessary, and quite uncomfortable. I know that there is freedom of speech, but some extreme ideas and absurd groups should not be promoted by a waiter in a restaurant! My go-to is the Della Casa for an appetizer, followed with the Verde pizza but I have not had a single dish that was less than spectacular. Chef Antonio also keeps a small, but very impressive list of daily specials on the chalkboard and you'd be a fool to ignore them. Everything from pasta with sausage and baby back ribs, to white lasagna, and so many more great dishes. This is the type of place where they'll remember your name and go over the top to serve you and make you feel at home. While I see them constantly getting orders ready for takeout - my big recommendation is for at least your first visit, do yourself a favor and sit right at the chef's counter to watch the master at work and get the absolute hottest, and freshest pizza brought right from the oven to your plate. read more

We suggest you sit at the bar and watch him knead and work the pizza rather than getting a table. Try a Margherita first - that's a good baseline. If you close your eyes you'd think you are in Napoli or at least somewhere in Calabria. The dough, the sauce, the cheese. A 900 degree oven and the final result are just absolutely authentic, spectacular and worth repeating. Service is loving and honest. This is not a by-the-slice parlor, not a fast food joint. Here you watch a master pizzaiolo create art, and take his time. There's no rush, no stress, no 30 minutes or it'a free. This is the way they do it in the old world. Food could have been better The atmosphere was quiet when I stopped in for lunch, I was their only customer for the first part of my lunch. It was also nice, the place had clean look, pictures on the wall, red and white checkered tablecloths, Italian music playing softly. This is the location previously occupied by Alma's Kouzine, and with the same floorplan, it had a familiar feel. We got off to a friendly start and service was pretty good throughout my visit. I had checked out the menu posted in Yelp photos before I arrived and had decided on their Spaghetti and Meatballs. Table bread was provided, followed by a small lettuce and tomato salad. The salad was a nice surprise, it wasn't mentioned on the menu. It glimmered with oil. When I visited Italy last fall no one ever offered dressing choices, so this seemed very normal for an Italian restaurant. Not sure on the timing, it may have taken a little while to get to the main course, but I had bread and then a salad, and was in no hurry. The food is important, and while the bread and salad were both ok, the spaghetti and meatballs was a bit of a disappointment. The noodles themselves were fine but the sauce was thin and watery. To me the meatballs weren't very good, I had problems with both the taste and texture. Cheese was added before the dish was dropped off, no cheese on the table for me to improve it. I'm not saying what I ate was terrible, I ate it all and it was a generous amount of food. I just feel it could have been better. Atmosphere now serves breakfast. They open about 9am and offer several omelettes. I have no doubt I'd be writing a more positive review if I had eaten an omelette. read more

It's a small pizza joint in an old mall. The husband (pizza maker) and wife team is very sweet and she's especially energetic and fun! The food was good but the service was very odd, the young servers seemed to be listening to someone through earpieces, and kept trying to take away our unfinished food. When we walked in we were greeted by the coolest cashier! She was upbeat, helpful and pleasant! We seated and watched the men make roll, toss and prepare the dough in the brick oven. Stay the heck away. The hostess or manager, whoever she is , is so rude and uneducated. I wasn't impressed with the pizza at all. To be honest it was gross. From the crust to the sauce. I waited with my daughter so long , because the place can only hold about 8 tables if that. I don't think a large restaurant would ever be filled , but she reminded me how crowded they were because of their pizza.
