My review is about the actual food. i ordered a white pizza that I thought would be a homemade specialty. instead, I received what I perceived to be a store bought pizza. That was made in an assembly line. the crust was like leather. i do not see any conceivable way. This was a handmade pizza. and that's fine.If you like a kind of cookie cutter pizza that's made one time and done by an assembly line type fashion, but this is not. What was advertised. I would not recommend ordering there. read more

They sell good pies here, just don't call it "NY Style". Extra thin and crispy crust it is not, neither is it loaded with cheese and sauce. They do get extra point for selling slices to satisfy sudden cravings (but not enough to want to eat a whole pie.) Love the name 'Patel'-lini. Mr. Patel should try inventing new pies -- chicken tikki masala pizza, tandoori chicken pizza, vindaloo seafood pizza,... just make the crust extra thin and crispy. read more

After one extra-long day at the beach in Sarsota, we decided to just order in...so I chose this pizza joint again! We actually ordered from here on our last stay a few years ago...and chose it again. Just as I remembered it, the pizza slices were HUGE. Guess it's a New York Style Pizza! They were able to accommodate our request for half Bacon, and half Pepperoni...so Yay! As expected, they were delish. However, I recall it being even better before...or could it be that I've had one too many exceptional pizzas since then...or maybe I wasn't hungry enough?? I still say their pizza is solid...and very New York. Pricing was reasonable, considering its huge size...and delivery was super-quick! Definitely up for reordering in the future. read more

I did not get to try the food as the service was so unfriendly. No greeting when I walked up to counter to order. 3 guys up there and not a single hello or acknowledgement of my presence. I ordered, paid, tipped, and asked very nicely for my slice to be cooked well done / crispy and sat down to wait. 4 or 5 min later, the guy at counter just called out "pepperoni" when it was done and I went to counter to pick up. There was only 1 other occupied table in there - no one else waiting for food as they were already eating - but the counter guy could not even be bothered to walk the slice over to my nearby table or even to say thank you or enjoy or anything. Just shoved the plate at me when I went up to the counter. The slice was undercooked and floppy / greasy looking and so I asked for it to be cooked more and then a different guy started arguing about the doneness. I said never mind, I don't even want it any more and walked out. Everyone there was decidedly apathetic to downright rude. No thanks and never again. On a night the rest of the nearby restaurants were full, they were empty. I suspect that others have found the same lackluster experience and poor service to be a turnoff as well. . read more

Solid pizza slices. Good crust tasty sauce. Great spot for a quick bite or carry out.

I really like Mr Patel's Italian restaurant. I've been going here since it was in its original location sometime back in the 1990s. This eggplant parmesan sub I ordered was about as long as my index finger. I should have put a quarter or something next to it for scale. It's just disappointing that the sandwich size has shrunk in half basically. This feels scammy.... read more

We stopped in here for lunch and got a large pepperoni pizza and 4 drinks. It was $33 bucks and the pizza was solid. It was a little pricy for the drinks and was we didn't get them. The pizza was very think and crispy which I like. Good atmosphere and it got the job done read more

An absolute scam of a shop. This was the worst pizza I've ever eaten. Spent $40 dollars on a cheese pie and a cheesesteak which was about the length of a small banana and filled with a thin layer of raw onions and GROUND BEEF? Vile food with zero flavor - these people are absolute scammers. Don't waste your money. read more

Very meh pizza. Came here to get a slice of cheese and white pizza. The white pizza was very under-seasoned and tasted like I was eating plain unsalted ricotta on bread. There was no umami, sweet, sour, salt, or bitter taste to it. The cheese pizza was overly greasy and also disappointing. Save your money and go somewhere else. The ambiance was also depressing. It was 8pm on a Friday night and the place was empty and the workers were vacuuming. read more

Clean place with outdoor seating. Service was average nothing over the top. Got the order right asked about the steak and cheese and they said it was done in the oven so I passed. Instead. Chix parm was ordered and received a very small processed piece of chic which was tough. Sandwich was small to begin with. Sauce and bread were good very skimpy sandwich with no quality for a premium price. Will not be going back. read more

Got a large sausage pie to go on a Saturday night, figured I'd keep it light since I had a big day of TV watching planned for the next day. The inside was clean and the staff was friendly. The large pizza is massive (no complaints here). It's advertised as New York style pizza, and it definitely is. The crust isn't thick, but it's also not too thin, it's right in the middle. Generous on the toppings and cooked well. It wasn't too flaccid, as shown in the photos below. Passed the flaccid test, it didn't just flop over when the pizza was held by the crust. The pie was cooked exceptionally , but it didn't have a ton of flavor, that's why I'm going with four stars instead of five. The place is definitely worth a try. read more

Growing up in New Jersey, I kind of took it for granted that there would always be great pizza. In Jersey, it seemed every strip mall and almost every corner had a place that had some great pizza. Since moving down south 20 years ago, I was just made to learn that good pizza was not available in every strip mall or every corner. No, good pizza is an elusive treasure to hunt for. So, while in Sarasota and seeking good pizza, fate brought me here. Unfortunately, it was not a kind fate as the pizza was bland and not that far removed from say a Papa John's. read more

Got takeout from this unassuming pizzeria. Generous portions. The meatballs were nice and fluffy. The marinara sauce was a bit sweet. The baked ziti was very good. The garlic knots were meh. Inexpensive and amazing pizza!! We were just walking by and what a great surprise! Highly recommend for fast casual.

Meh... We had such high hopes; but they were dashed. - Pizza toppings were scarce. - Fountain drinks were rationed out for you from behind the counter like it's 1982. - Prices certainly carry a posh downtown premium. - Flavor on the veggie pizza was bland. If it were 1:45am and we were leaving the club starving for some food, I'm sure this would be great choice. However, as a destination choice to enjoy a pizza with the family, it falls short. On the plus side, it was clean and walking down Main Street after dinner is always a nice time. read more

Good pizza and nice patio area. Staff is super friendly, overall good experience, and perfect location.

Pizza was fantastic. We stopped in after a long day in the sun and too tired to wait for a sit down meal, but hungry enough that we needed to eat asap. We could order pizza by the slice & were able to customize each slice. The white pizza was outstanding. We also got slices of cheese & pepperoni pizza which were equally delicious. Service was fast and they were exceptionally friendly. It's a surprisingly delicious dinner! Bravo! read more

It was fine After reading some of the other reviews I decided to pay attention for smiles from the people working at Patellinis, and saw none. This is a business only place, not a happy place. That said, it was not unpleasant to order a couple of slices and a drink. They offer 2 cheese slices and a drink for $5.99, which is a pretty good deal. I got mine with pepperoni which added .55 per slice, still not a bad deal. The slices were heated up in just a few minutes and were very hot. The slices were tasty, plenty of cheese and lots of oil. The place was fine. They have a few TVs and had background music. Convenient for those working at lower Main St, street parking can be a challenge for those motoring in. Watch your step leaving, the mat in front of the door looks like you could easily trip. read more

I love the crust on the pizzas here! Thin and crispy just the way I like it! I don't think Flordia in general has great pizza but I'm from Boston so of course, you can't compare pizza from Sarasota to a slice from the North End in Boston. I miss the pizza from NY and Boston but this pizza place isn't bad! The prices are fairly priced as well. The best place about this is that it is open late at night on Fridays so I always try to grab a slice after the bar before I head home. read more
