While on vacation in Siesta Key with a group of friends, we decided on pizza for our first night on the island. I was skeptical that I would find something suitable to eat as a vegan, but I was surprised at the menu. I was able to build my own veggie pie and the chef did not disappoint with the mix of ingredients! I wish I had taken a photo because it was delicious. I asked for a simple mix of olives, spinach, arugula, and tomato, no sauce, and lots of dried red pepper flakes. They graciously drizzled olive oil on top so it wouldn't be dry as well. Chef's kiss! We stopped at this place after being at the beach for a few hours, it did not disappoint. Service was quick and the food was amazing. My boyfriend got the Alfredo noodles and meatballs and he liked it a lot. My boyfriend's mom got a margarita pizza (definitely think I spelled that wrong) and she loved it. I got the sweet and spicey and it was AMAZING. My boyfriend can't have ricotta because his stomach is sensitive but I scooped some of it off a few of my slices and he loved the pizza as well and helped me eat mine. I would definitely come back here if I'm in town again. It also wasn't too busy and the place was clean and nice and had easy access to get a box for leftovers which is always a plus. read more

We were in Sarasota and looking for a local food joint. Stumbled on n Ripfire Pizza. Found a huge menu including build your own. The pizza was amazing and the breadsticks made for a nice appetizer. Wanted to go to other place but sadly they closed early. We just walked by and saw this pizza place. The AC was not too strong in there probably because the windows and doors are opened. I was overheating a bit. I asked for a Caesar salad but she said they never have that salad but something else instead; but I saw it on the menu. It is kind of confusing. The pizza I got was so good! We ordered pizza from here again today. I put in an online order as we were driving, and we swung by to pick it up after a bit. I did not open the box until we got back to where we are staying, but instead of pepperoni, they gave us pineapple. Pineapple, mushrooms, & black olives make for an odd combo, so we picked off the pineapple. We do like their thin crust. I assumed maybe it was my mistake when ordering, but when I checked the email order confirmation, it did say pepperoni. So lesson learned: open the box & check it out before you leave. Ripfire Pizza & BBQ is a very cool little place in the village of Siesta Key. Walking in the first thing I noticed was how clean and organized the restaurant looked. They have a variety of pizzas or you can make your own, they have bbq that I didn't try, they have a large selection of craft beer in cans and on tap. When you walk in you order at the counter and get a number. When your order is complete the staff brings the food to the table. Speaking of the staff. They were great, friendly, and easy to get along with. The food was awesome! We split a paradise pizza and a pepperoni pizza. On vacation, but not really in the mood for seafood tonight. Considered pizza. Contacted our friends who vacation down here frequently, and they recommended a place off the key. So, wanting something a bit closer, took a chance on Ripfire. Good decision! Parking in this area is at a premium, but it had just stopped raining so we only had to walk a block to get there. Ordered our pizzas. (side bar: we asked of we could get a 1/2 and 1/2, but the guy at the counter said no since the sauces were different and caused a problem mixing. Well, the two types we ordered had the same sauce. So, that shouldn't have made a diff. But, I digress) My wife ordered a Margarita pizza and I ordered the Heatwave. Figuring it would take at least 15 mins, we sat down and started chatting and observing folks walk by through the open air doors. (I think we were lucky the temperature dropped and the rain came, since there wasn't the usual crowds out) Well, out of nowhere our pizza show up, in less than 10 mins! Ok, pizzas. Hot, smelled great, looked great. My wife really loved her Margarita pizza. Won't go into details other than it was well received! We both ordered 12" pies, so we had extras to take back to the condo. Mine was the heatwave. From the name and listed ingredients, one would expect scorching hot spices, jalapeños etc. Nope. Hot, yep, spicy, just the right amount. There was hot sausage, pepperoni, banana peppers and chopped up jalapeños. That's what made it interesting!! The full flavor of the jalapeño but not the max burn. So, if you're the type of persons who needs the BURN, well, this may disappoint. But, if you want some heat, and flavor, this is a hit! Disgrace! The owner is a shame to this community. My kids walked in without a shirt, we missed the sign. This was our fault. I understand we needed to be informed. However his approach and delivery is inexcusable. He approached us in an aggressive tone, loud voice, furrowed eyebrows, demanding they, the kids, leave immediately. He said it again shouting they needed to leave the restaurant because they had no shirts. My kids were terrified and distraught. He ruined our evening and is a disgrace of a human. Apparently he's tired of people coming in all the time without shirts and that excuses him to be toxic to anyone he pleases. Learn to become an honorable man that knows how to navigate perceived conflict without destructive strategies. Throwing tantrums towards kids in a pizza place?! Shame. read more

Sort of a bummer! I was naming my toppings for the BYO pizza option and was told by the cashier with no mask, I kid you not, "if you add that many toppings your pizza is gonna taste like sh*t." Contrary to the cashier's opinion the pizza actually tasted good. I would say, however, that it definitely didn't taste $13 good! As far as COVID-19 measures--Only half of the staff (3/6) had a mask on their face when I was there and they all worked shoulder to shoulder the entire time. read more

This is a great location, right in Siesta Key Village. We had an amazing beach day and decided to stop here for an early dinner. I liked how clean and open the restaurant was. They have a large open wall that faces the street, and you can people watch while you sit in those bar seats. You can customize your personal pizza and choose whatever toppings you want. The toppings looked and tasted fresh. After our pizza was served, we concluded that we liked the pizza, but it wasn't the BEST pizza we had ever had or anything like that. It was just meh. The mac and cheese is the best I've ever had, and the beef bacon is fantastic. The twice-baked potatoes are also delicious. I'm a big fan of the ribeyes and ground beef. Megan is a fantastic person, and I always enjoy catching up with her. I'm happy to support this family-owned small business in Sarasota. Shay is a good dude.
