Absolutely delicious pizza and wings in Sarasota! My husband and I ordered ahead online for a large pizza and wings. We added extra cheese and jalapeños to their meat lovers special and got the hot buffalo wings, both of which were so yummy! The pizza came blazing hot and had a nice kick to it, clearly very fresh and made with love! Their wings were also super yummy and we were impressed with their buffalo sauce, different from the standard franks at most pizza joints. I had a great experience overall at Origin. They've got a great craft, beer selection, delicious appetizers, and the best wings that I've tasted so far in Sarasota. The place is a storefront and has some seating available outside, which starts creating a nice atmosphere before even entering. Inside, the place a good deal of personality. Kind of a small sports bar/pizzeria vibe. The staff is beyond friendly! Smiles and good energy with everyone we interacted with. The locals clearly love this place, which is a great sign. The meatballs appetizer is delicious. Tried the Warm Roasted Squash Salad, and while it's not what I'd gravitate towards, it was interesting to try. The wings were the best! We have eaten at this restaurant several times. The first few times we went were good not great but good. The last time we went was horrible. It was like everything was rushed through the cooking process. The pizza was under cooked so the bottom was wet and floppy. The restaurant was only about half full as it was on the later side after 8. We were starved and ate the salad which was good but took most of the pizza home but ended up throwing it away. Our family brought us to Origin, promoting their low-key atmosphere, quality craft pizzas, juicy wings, & variety of craft beers- the place was smaller inside, but very friendly ambiance- though they were short-staffed the waitress had a very up-beat attitude, pleasantly interacting with each diner, while managing a lot! We ordered a salad, the Mall pizza, the Sicilian pizza, & a variety of wings (buffalo, spicy honey, hot). The salad was quite large, loaded with lots of freshly cut veggies- it easily fed our entire table of four while still having leftovers The Mall (pineapple, bacon, cheese) was loaded w. fresh, hearty chunks of toppings, the Sicilian had a thick crunchy crust, smothered with melted cheese, & a creamy red sauce- the wings were just as juicy as promised- though the sauce wasn't as hot as I would have liked it-it did have a quality flavor profile. A good decision I've been meaning to find this place for a few months and finally did today. What I found when I stopped in for lunch was an ordinary place, not very large, not fancy, but welcoming. There are maybe a dozen tables including a couple outside. They have a front room and a back area. Several TVs. My favorite pizzas are ones loaded with meat, and they have that, but I decided differently this time and picked their The Mall pizza. The Mall does have ham and bacon, but also pineapple and a spicy honey drizzle. This traditional hand tossed pizza was really very good. I didn't notice any spiciness with the honey drizzle, but I did like the sweetness of the honey with the savory of the meats. Pineapple gave it that tropical flavor. They offer a typical lunch special where you can get a pizza with one topping. I wanted one of their several specialty pizzas and the smallest was 12", so I am looking forward to having the slices I brought home tonight for dinner. read more

This review is for the Palmer Ranch location. We have been here or ordered takeout from here several times. I was very excited to find a nearby restaurant with some Middle Eastern dishes. Of those, we have tried falafel, the za'atar pizza, and quinoa Tab'bouleh salad. While the flavors of the falafel and the za'atar pie were good, both were extremely overcooked. The falafel was dry and hard and the za'atar pie was charred to a crisp. The Tab'bouleh salad was kind of bland. Since I got it as a takeout dish, I was able to add some lemon. However, the traditional flavor of fresh mint was lacking. I will compliment the wings, succulent and flavorful. However, on one occasion we ordered the Trifecta, which should include several flavors, but received only one flavor. I don't know if our experience at one of the other locations would be different. read more

Ok, I am done with Origins on Clark - I was ordering the same pizza every couple of weeks - cauliflower crust, bacon, sausageg & pepperoni - IT WAS AMAZING fresh and craveable. I stopped ordering it bout 3 months ago - right after they got new cooks because all of a sudden it would be burnt ( a little burnt doesn't bother me) or have barely ANY toppings, it was NOT the same pizza it started out to be. I had one girl tell me every "chef" (used loosely) does it differently. UGHHH NO - consistency is the heart of a great restaurant. I took a CHANCE today and ordered my usual & I GET HAM on it! LIKE HAM HAM - NOT in the bacon form. So I got bacon, ham, sausage and pepperoni. I DO NOT LIKE HAM on my pizza when I saw that it made sense as to why it TASTED SO AWFUL. IF I WANTED HAM I would have ORDERED ham. I just was SO HUNGRY it took a bit to register! I won't even order the one I switched to from there again. it's sad to, because THEY used to care about what they served! SO they either hate me for SOME reason? I always do to go and tip well - so it can't be that? I KNOW the guy that USED to work saturdays and sundays was AMAZING. BUT the people they got there now in the back NOT SO MUCH!!! This small restaurant in a Publix anchored strip mall was more than I expected. It's not just a little take out pizza shop. Yes, the pizza is excellent if you like a thin crispy crust, but I tried the wings and they were very good as well. The menu said buffalo sauce but it wasn't like any Buffalo sauce I've had. It was more of a spice rub in a nice pepper sauce. The thing that makes this place different is there is an actual bar and table seating inside. Love the people here! The food never disappoints, whether we want pizza and wings or a lighter Mediterranean or salad option. I love that the beer tap changes everytime we're there, but they have my favorite bourbon and wine as well for the days I want those. We are new to the area and originally tried them bc they're close. But we keep coming back bc they offer flavors that I don't find anywhere else. My current favorite is The Landings pizza on cauliflower crust which is a base of their artichoke dip and I add chicken, tomatoes, and jalapeños, as recommended by the bar tender. It's gluten-free, crispy and feels super indulgent. There are items I haven't loved per se but it's never been bad, I just don't order that again. I highly HIGHLY recommend you order their baked wings "stupid crispy". They're the best!!! And without the weird soggy greasy feel of fried wings. ALL the sauces are good (though we tend to be purests and like the traditional hot the best.) I know I'm starting to sound like this is a health joint but I have 3 teenage boys who order differently and LOVE this place!! It meets all 6 of our tastes and diets every time.
