Great second floor pub in downtown near the theaters. Great vibe with classic rock posters and good sports on TVs. We visited by chance for their nice happy hour. Great wing options and we tried their cilantro garlic version--delish and different. They had about 10 wing options--wow! Some nice happy hour drink specials--including a great Old Fashioned with Forrester. Calusa IPA beer in big mug. The big hit was their special Irishman burger, really big with a tasty whiskey bacon jam and tons of arugula. A truly special burger. One super nice woman bartender/server made our drinks and brought us the tasty food. We will definitely return. read more

May 1, 2026 - two for dinner before a show at Florida Studio Theater. My first visit. An easy walk from the FST parking and the FST theater. Drinks very reasonable and decent volume/quantity/pour. A buck for my soda water with lemon..... a bargain for the driver and non-drinker! The boss got 10 wings, 1/2 parm cheese and 1/2 barbecue. The reputation is best wings in Sarasota??? She like flats only and we paid $1 for just flats. This was a very nice option as I the whole food plant based "spartan vegan" will usually cringe at leaving those drums behind or wasted??? I did try one of each though. I believe they are baked and then before serving deep fried to crisp them up and heat them. Sadly the barbecued ones where burnt (see picture) and a little too crisped. The meat and most of the wing and the flavor was pretty good. 5/10 The parm wings where actually the opposite and the meat and wing undercooked, but the deep fry dunking crisped up the skin which would have been really raw and rubbery. These were also seasoned nicely and tasty. 8/10 Both easily fantastic with attention to pre-cooking and cooking? I got the Cup o' Spuds (sweet potato) in a little basket. These were pretty deeply fried and a few blackened/burnt but were nice and hot and flavorful and couple burned gave it some character and was a big deal. The menu is very limited for whole food plant based, vegetarian, vegan, nutritarian mix and match or anything....... so went with one of the three salads. the Side Salad I got an entree size. Romaine, diced tomatoes, cucumbers and black olives and a balsamic. My server missed my point after the second ask about adding "protein". I would have LOVED to have seen some black, pinto, kidney, navy, garbanzo, or any kind of BEANS to add to this salad as a "PROTEIN" or a quinoa, or even scoop of rice or edamame or even a few chunks of toasted or grilled tofu!!!! The salad ingredients were fresh and a nice amount of each. Dressing good but I only used a little since I thought I had asked for Balsamic Vinegar (no oil) and this was a Balsamic "Dressing" with actually quite a bit of oil. Service by "Nightime Bar B" was very attentive and friendly. REALLY good! Fielded our myriad of questions and we were never wanting or waiting. We had a long discussion about the wings which is why my wife wanted to go here. Maybe I should have put this first.......but the pricing was EXTREMELY reasonable especially for Main Street and I guess technically IN Season? The drinks about $12 for a Cosmo, Tito and club $10 ? Tax, tags, tip at 20% plus and we got out under $70 for two!!! VERY nice! Good spot. We will be back!!! As we have just about completed the Mainstreet and City of Sarasota circuit these guys are in the "rotation" for a before cabaret or full production play at the FST. read more

I had an awesome burger at The Fat Rabbit. Called the Irishman, it was a large juicy burger with a bunch of melted cheese and a subtle sweet taste from their Jamison whiskey bacon jam. This is one of the best burgers I've had in quite some time. The Fat Rabbit is located on the 2nd floor that can be reached by going up steps or taking an elevator just a few steps away. It was lunchtime when we arrived, yet the place was barely busy. Being off season is a slow time, and a good time for locals to visit local businesses. We got a table by a window. Service was fine, the food took just over 10 minutes to arrive. Now that I've discovered this spot I will be keeping it in mind for a future visit. read more

This is a great bar with amazing customer service. You have to walk upstairs to get to the bar and there's so much to look at on the way up and when you are up there. They offer food and drinks. I enjoyed the bar area which is where we sat! The bartenders took the time to get to know us and treated us with kindness! You can place your order and get it in a reasonable time. This is a fun place. There's a staircase that leads you upstairs that if you're not looking for the door, you might miss it. I did. But once I got inside, I was happy we got there. Cold beer they had a lot of choices of local brews from the area and I had a burger, which was really good sized fat and meaty with the onion rings which were done perfect. They were crispy crunchy onion rings. If I was local to Sarasota, I would definitely be back. Service was great. Food came out quick. Somebody was always close by to refill a beer. Stopped in for lunch after checking in for the weekend in Sarasota. Wasn't busy and we had a nice table by the window. This is a cute sports bar with a nice menu with variety. I enjoyed the tacos and my partner had a tasty burger and sweet potato fries. Everything was tasty and fresh. The table next to us heard we were tourists and gave us some recommendations. About 15 high tops, 16 seats at the back wall counter, and 6 window low tables. They have 6 televisions all have close-captioned sports. Hostess is super friendly, plus she is also a server, and food runner. Observed two bartenders and another server. Place was basically empty on this Sunday during dinner. Menu has several pages full of pub options, so we decided to share pretzel and protein, 10 wings, and disco fries. The pretzel and protein is one average size pretzel cut up in pieces with 2 sliced bratwursts. It served with yellow and spicy mustard. We added the beer cheese for an upcharge. Pretzel was ok nothing special. Brats were good. Beer cheese was good but the little cup it was served in made it hard to dip and scoop. So a bit frustrating to enjoy. The disco fries came with hand cut fries topped with cheese curds and brown gravy. The gravy was super salty but the fries were good. I would pass on the extras and just get the fresh cut fries. Today's special wings of the day sauce was honey Bourbon. The wings give you 2 sauces, so we went with the special bourbon sauce and the honey garlic. Turns out they divided the 10 wings and gave us 5 wings of each sauce. Bummer. We both agreed the Bourbon sauce was the superior sauce and got more to dunk all the wings. Local draft beers are limited with only 2 available plus the regular domestic options. For a pub, I was surprised with the varied selection of wines and limited beers, mostly bottled or can beer options. Parking is very tricky as this is a downtown tourist location. On a Sunday, around 6pm we found street parking but can't imagine later where folks will be able to park. The pub is located on a second floor with some seriously steep stairs but grateful for the working elevator. Overall, nice decor, pub fare, with friendly service, paying downtown prices and be aware of limited parking options. read more

As we enter the Fat Rabbit we looked up the steep set of stairs to the bar and thought "Oh my" I'll bet this could be scary after a few drinks. After climbing the stairs and grabbing a seat the elevator was only a few steps away! The waitstaff was right on top of things - quickly getting our drafts and letting us look over the menu. We ordered the Pretzel and Protein appetizer and the loaded tots. The pretzel and protein was great - came with regular mustard, spicy mustard and house made beer cheese for dipping. The sausages must be locally made - great flavor and the appetizer ate more like a meal. The loaded tots were good.... Bacon, melted cheese, jalapeños and scallions. Had a few drinks, enjoyed the food and service immensely and took the elevator on our way out. A definite gem in the area. read more

Love this kind of food. A chain that just opened a Sarasota location. We started with Sticks and Protein. Small pieces of pretzel with sausage and a mustard dipping sauce. Delicious. While visiting Sarasota, tried this place based on reviews & menu options on their website. Chicken wings were good. Also ordered a Cubano (which was just okay), but I was getting full so only ate half, took the other half in a to-go container. Later, I got hungry in my hotel room so I opened up the Cubano, took the first bite and could not figure out what the hell I was chewing. After spitting it out and unfolding it, turns out it was a huge piece of plastic. And I'm not talking about some flimsy saran-wrap, it was legit thick plastic - from what I have absolutely no idea, which is a little frightening. Needless to say, the sandwich was ruined for me after that and since it was my last night in Sarasota I couldn't go back and show them (closed for the night by this time), so posting this here hoping they get a memo out to the kitchen to pay better attention. This is a massive choking hazard, hope it doesn't happen to anyone else. If this had not happened, I would probably give this place another star or two. Came on a Saturday night and service was slow! There was only one guy who was working the bar and serving all of the tables. A girl showed up later. We had a few meals come out 15 minutes after the others. It was a large party but the service just was terrible. Kids meals were $10, then charged $2 per kids drink, and charged for the cheese on the sliders. Just an odd experience overall. Husband said chicken wasn't good but my burger was fine. read more
