Super impressive first experience for this gluten-free pizza snob! Origin Craft Beer and Pizza Cafe is a small chain that Tampa is not blessed enough to have. I tried it out for the first time as a takeout order and was blown away by the gluten free options. Not only do they offer a delectable thin crust made with cauliflower, their mouthwatering chicken wings are also free of gluten. We ordered three pizzas -one regular, two gluten free- and two orders of wings. The Trifecta and Garlic Parm wings were ridiculously good. The gluten-free pies: Popeye's [Spinach, shrimp, olive oil, pesto drizzle, garlic olive oil base] and the Farm [Roasted red pepper, zucchini, yellow squash, onion, mushroom, broccoli]. I think my heart melted during my first bite of the Popeye's. Everything was delish until the last crumb. If Origin was local to me in Tampa, I would probably crave pizza more often! read more

This UTC site is #3 for this privately owned pizza and beer favorite. Let's begin with 10 awesome wings with 5 different sauce options. These wings are huge and full of flavor. Competitive prices too. The pizza was flavorful with at least 15 different toppings to choose, you will definitely find the perfect combination to share. I love that pizza come in 12", 16" or 18". Eating alone or with the family, there's plenty of options. Oh, did I mention the craft beer on tap is got something for all? Yes, so many choices it will take you 5 minutes to read through the untapped selection. Canned beers are also available and it's a long list. This location has a roomy feel with a full bar, high tops, low seating plus outdoor covered patio seating. Parking is ample and takeout was busy too. This is one of the easiest reviews ever: 1) Cauliflower crust supreme pizza that rocks. Oddly, they call a supreme the "Barber Shop". I have my wife convinced that it's 'a healthy version of a supreme pizza'. Thank you! ;) 2) Excellent draft beer. Love the food here and usually have good service but today, today is different. My wife called in an order an hour ago, 12:45 pm. At 1:48 pm she's been sitting inside the restaurant for 15 minutes and the order isn't ready. They keep telling her 5 minutes. Seems like the staff are more interested in talking than helping customers. This is unacceptable to me and they are lucky it was her and not me that was picking it up. I'm not as cordial as she is and my patience is very thin when it comes to shitty customer service and no communication. To the manager and owners. Get your people to do better. Over an hour for a simple pepperoni pizza is more than ridicules. read more

My boyfriend and I were starving so we decided to stop by Origin since they were open late. There were no signs indicating if you just seat yourself or wait for staff to seat you, so we waited for about 10 minutes staring at the paper menus up front while multiple staff members made eye contact and never said a single word to us, not even a hello. There were at least 3 staff members that walked right in front of us, looked directly into our eyeballs, and then kept it moving. If you're looking to be disrespected and ignored, go to Origin. I have tried numerous Pizza's, including the Sicilian. I prefer the pizzas to be crispy or cooked well done and often there is a little bit of an inconsistency, according to who's working what shift as to how they come out. Sometimes they come out firm and other times the middle has considerable flop. The cheesy bread is very good and the marinara sauce is very good. You can't go wrong with their wings. It's a good place the only Pizza that I have found better and Sarasota is Roman SQ. read more

Would not recommend. Pizza = flop, Servers = slop. Took 30+ mins to get drinks, restaurant was less than half full when we ordered food, it took about 60-70mins to get a few pizzas. Half our table got their pizzas about 20 mins after others. Pizza- raw slop look to pictures added. Stromboli- literally raw dough look to pictures. Servers were rude and didn't come to check on us, we had to get up and ask for more water. Food :2/10 Servers: 3/10 Restaurant: surprised they made it through covid. We would highly recommend origin. I don't even know where to begin. We didn't know what to expect as we were coming for trivia night. From the moment we walked in the bartender and the manager were so nice and kind. They were so accommodating. The food was absolutely amazing. We had 4 people. We split three appetizers - bacon cheese fries, the garlic Parmesan, fries, and the spinach dip. This was not your standard microwaved from Sysco spinach dip!! This stuff was great!! If you like ooey gooey melted cheese, I highly recommend. Each one of us ordered a different pizza. The gluten-free pizza was really good.
