Plenty of parking, plenty of seating, and whether you sit inside or outside, you're in for something special. Now for the best part... the pizza. We eat pizza about once a week and it's my husband's favorite food. We brought our granddaughter with us, and pizza is her favorite too. She immediately knew what she wanted: mushrooms and pepperoni. Done. As for us? We had no idea where to start. We ordered the Wise Guy: vodka sauce base, sesame seed crust, spicy soppressata, ricotta, fresh basil, and Calabrian chili hot honey. We also asked our server for their favorite recommendation and ordered the Vodka-Roni: vodka sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, burrata cheese, and fresh basil. Were we dreaming? This is hands down the best pizza we have ever had anywhere in the world. New York pizza? Sorry... step aside. You've officially been removed from our top three. They are now #1. This was the most flavorful pizza we have ever eaten. I'm usually not particularly picky about pizza. My husband, however, is a pizza connoisseur. Going forward, every pizza will now be judged against these. We live in Polk City and only travel down this way every few months or so, but this place is now officially a destination. We would absolutely go out of our way for this pizza. And can we talk about the sesame seed crust? Where have you been all my life? Absolute genius. The staff were incredibly kind, full of suggestions, helpful with leftovers, and made the experience even better. And finally... the chocolate-dipped cookies. Wow. Some places serve pizza. Hidden gem in Sarasota but thank goodness for Yelp! We ordered the 12" Donnie Brasco and throughly enjoyed the spicy pepperoni and Italian sausage with nice crusty crunchy dough. AAA+++ I enjoyed the beet salad I added the chicken cutlet, it was as a nice big salad. The owner Chris served us and he was very friendly, we enjoyed talking to him. Our first visit to Capo Pazzo was certainly a good one. I'm going to say it is a bit hidden, located just off south US41 behind a gas station (Texaco?). Once you see it, a large mural of an Italian pizza maker holding up NY with the Italian flag splashed in the background, you know you've arrived. We were greeted even before we reached the door and offered a choice of dining inside or outdoors. They have a large outdoor area that is shielded from the parking lot, nice, but we opted to sit inside for some a/c. Our server was right over and got us started with drinks while we looked over the menu. She was so nice, attentive, helpful, and upbeat for the entire time we were there, a real pleasure. As for the food, we decided to split their Greek Salad and a Prosciutto Arugula 12" pizza. They offer both 12 and 18" pies. This was not the pizza I would have selected, I'm more a Meat Lovers Supreme carnivore, but it was my wife's choice tonight. I thought the salad was pretty standard, lots of Feta cheese and a generous amount of dressing in a container. My wife left me all the red onion slivers, maybe not her best decision, and took almost all of the olives. The salad was still fine, lots of green. Our pizza was also brightly green, what with all the arugula on top. Like more salad. But underneath was an excellent pizza crust, like they describe on their menu with a bit of NY char. While I missed all the greasy meat, the prosciutto was very flavorful, a top of the line ingredient. A hint of truffle oil added to the mix and pieces of a hard Parmesan cheese (Parmigiano Reggiano) added more. I have to admit, it was a pretty good pizza. read more

We have always loved the food here in fact, we drive 2.5 hours just for the pizza and knots. That's why this experience was so incredibly disappointing. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was completely overshadowed by the service. Our server, Melissa, made the entire experience feel negative from start to finish. We had to repeatedly ask for basic things like water refills and even the alcohol menu. Our pizza came out before all of our appetizers, which felt disorganized and rushed. When we asked if the pizza could be made half-and-half, her response was dismissive: "It's busy, so..." with no real attempt to accommodate or explain. What was most concerning was her reaction to an allergy mentioned at the table. Instead of showing care or taking it seriously, she shrugged and said, "Well, if it's anaphylactic..." The lack of concern and professionalism in that moment was honestly shocking and felt very disrespectful. To top it off, when the check came, it was not split and she hadn't asked how we wanted it handled. When we politely asked if it could be split, she rolled her eyes and said, "Can you guys just Zelle each other?" which was incredibly unprofessional. The food was, as always, great but the service completely ruined the experience. Found this gem and have dined here twice since arriving in Sarasota. Service is both friendly and efficient here. On the first occasion we ordered Vodka Pasta and Chicken Parm. I quickly discovered that I love their Vodka Pasta Sauce and would order the Chicken Parm with that sauce the next time I was in the mood for pasta. A truly hidden gem in the Sarasota area. And thanks to my seven year old nephew, this is a new local favorite of ours. We came to celebrate his birthday at his favorite pizza joint. Servers and workers couldn't have been any nicer, introduced themselves to us and stated they were from Long Island upon hearing we were visiting from CT. We started out with the Arancini for an app, they give you 3 delicious balls in a bowl with their tomato sauce which is to die for. One of the best sauces I've had in quite some time, drooling thinking about it. We also got the Dom Parmigiana to share and they even gave us an extra piece of cutlet at no charge.
