My wife and I celebrated her birthday at Deep Lagoon in Osprey...we couldn't have picked a better place. The restaurant was beautiful; the view was gorgeous; the food was scrumptious, and the service was impeccable. My wife ordered the Maine Lobster...it was huge and reasonably priced. I had the chicken with pasta and took half home for dinner the next day. Our server Emmalyn was terrific and had personality plus. We never felt rushed and she absolutely made us feel special, which made our night. read more

This is a Pinchers with a better location and prices jacked up by $10 a plate. They took a beautiful spot, built a big ugly concrete building on it, and then decorated it using the best of TJ Maxx. Osprey desperately needs some good quality restaurants, but this isn't it. read more

Six of us went to this restaurant Saturday 10/28/2023. The food was excellent and priced right . We enjoyed friendly and prompt service. The view is really beautiful from the main dining room. My only suggestion, since we arrived by boat, is that they pay a little more attention to the condition of the docks. There should be bumpers on the poles that cover the bolts and the docks should be cleaned of the weeks of bird crap. Have someone hose the docks off every morning or every other morning. Also it would be nice if there were lines on the dock for us to grab. I called ahead of arrival and nobody could answer questions regarding anything about docking so there was no way for us to prepare ahead of time. I would definitely recommend this place for the food and the friendly service. read more

I WISH I could give this place more stars. The food was great, atmosphere was amazing. But the service was not. We waited too long for drinks, too long for sides. The staff needs to figure it out before season, bc as locals ... we were not impressed. We went to celebrate my parents 29th wedding anniversary, which we had mentioned when making the reservation, and no one ever brought it up. This place has potential to be so great but I wasn't impressed today. Will be back and hopeful for a better experience next time!! read more

A pleasant water view with both indoor and outdoor seating the Deep Lagoon's menu features a variety of seafood dishes from PEI Mussels to Chilean Sea Bass and much more in between. Our table chose a variety of dishes like Swordfish, Mahi with chunks of Lobster, Grouper Oscar all of which were well prepared, tasty and ample. One criticism, I ordered the Mahi with lobster chunks and the lobster was missing benefit of doubt, it was probably overlooked. The wait staff were pleasant, helpful and on the spot when needed. Overall this restaurant is a good choice when the urge for the Fruit of the Sea hits. Prices are a little high on some items. The restaurant is Military friendly and graciously provides a discount on meals. Put on your "I'm going there list". Bon Appetite. read more

I wanted to wait and review Deep Lagoon after I'd been here a few times. Also, we've only been there for late lunches/early dinners, simply because that's when we like to eat out and we sat at the bar all five times. Here is my overall impression: Ambience: Gorgeous place. Elegant, without being cold, and beautiful views. The staff are welcoming and friendly and they have a pleasant clientele. Service: Hit or miss. Again, we've only sat at the bar, and only one time had a really bad experience - the waitress forgot to put in our order then was snotty about it (tried to blame everyone but her) and even yelled at the kitchen staff in front of us (they told us it was her fault). I have not factored that single very bad experience into this review, but service overall is spotty. Even when we've had better bartenders, we have to flag them down to get a second drink or place our food order. A great bartender should be alert and aware of their seated guests at all times. We go to our local Geckos a lot (convenience!) and sit at the bar and never have these issues - and it's almost always pretty packed - but their bartenders heads are on a swivel And we've never been to Deep Lagoon when it was super busy as we don't go out to eat during season, so I'm not sure why we have to get their attention to get service beyond initial contact. Maybe it's a policy? Food: Again, hit or miss. When they get it right it's freaking amazing. Just to use my most recent meal as an example: I had a triple tail sautéed in lemon/wine butter that brought me to my knees - I could eat that every day. The broccoli side was fine, nothing special, but also nothing I'd take a star off for (more garlic would be my recommendation as a cook/former food writer). The onion rings, which are a HUGE treat for me as I have a cholesterol issue that forces me to watch my fat/fried intake were very poorly prepared. So tough and chewy that I couldn't eat them - which I'm sure my doctor would appreciate, but I paid for onion rings I could chew. So, again, spotty. Other meals we've had here were similar - one or two things on the plate were amazing, but always at least one that is poorly cooked or prepared. I would have given 3.5 stars if I could, because it's not quite 4 stars, but not 3 stars either. Maybe 3.8? I will go back for the triple tail, make no mistake about it, but definitely no more onion rings as a side. read more

First time there. Busy beautiful day. Made a reservation which was a good idea. We actually asked to change tables from where they wanted to seat us and they readily agreed. We wanted a window view over the water. All questions were answered with ease and knowledge. Wish I would have taken more pics of our food. Raw oysters, stone claws, hog fish, coconut shrimp and clam chowder. Family gave thumbs up. We have had better chowder at other locations. Requested broccoli as one of my sides. They put garlic on it. I requested no garlic. While eating it it did have a hint of garlic. Very fresh, just wish it wasn't garlicky. We will definitely go back. Want to sit in bar area which looks like a fun place for a drink and conversation. read more

We went for lunch today. Wow, I am so glad we did! We came via land, but there is ample boat parking as well. Inside is absolutely gorgeous. It was bright with a nice bar and amazing views. Our server was quick to come to the table and brought a large bottle of water for us. One cool feature was the drink menu was on an iPad so you can easily zip through them all. We started with the Conch Fritters which were excellent and came with a tangy sauce. There were plenty of fritters for up to four people. Even though there were just two of us, we ate them all! For entrees, we had the Crab Rangoon and the Shrimp Tacos. Both were excellent with healthy portions. There is a great summer special that offers half plates and happy hour prices...oh the happy hour goes from 11-6! We can't wait to go back for dinner with friends soon! read more

I've eaten at many high end restaurants so I have a developed palate for what good food should taste like.. don't waste your money here it's just another Tommy Bahama to serve you the most mediocre food at an outrageous price. When the busy season in Florida comes to an end, it doesn't mean the quality of service stops. Last night, my Father-in-Law flew in from Tennessee to enjoy a quiet week with us. He hadn't eaten much since he left very early. After we got him home and my daughters situated, I asked them all to let me know what and where they wanted to go for dinner. It didn't take them long to decide to go to Deep Lagoon Seafood and Oyster House. We were greeted in the conventional manner and asked if we had reservations. Of course, it was spur of the moment, so we did not, this didn't make any impact on our being sat within moments. Our Server was Laura Lee, who added entertainment to my 8 yr old daughter by giving her some Jokes/Riddles (which she enjoyed). The service, as always, was quick, and the food was fantastic. My FIL was beside himself with how fresh his food was, it was his first time. He enjoyed the view of the intercoastal from our table, you could see the relaxation as he sat and enjoyed his surroundings. read more

An early Monday evening birthday dinner for 4 took 2.5 hours, although we were one table of just a few guests at arrival. Service obviously very slow, from our server as well as from the kitchen...that can be excused if the food was exceptional, which it wasn't. Bread was so hard, better chowder can be found in many other places, coconut shrimp over-fried, and salads were drenched in dressing - however the mussels were tasty! Wine prices are way too high, especially for a casual-ish place and their average wine selection. A few tables have a nice view, especially if sitting on the lanai... Prices very high, parking easy, bar is comfortable. Disappointed overall and will not return, sadly. read more

We were only two so were seated away from the rail plus had a pillar blocking our view of the sunset. No big deal. The Chilli Rubbed Triple Tail was okay but I'll order something different next time. In a shit tone of voice. Girls rush off I voice my opinion to chubby guy at desk about hassled when they are late. Order more watery drinks and appetizer never looking at menu. Server back several times to check on order. And now feel pushed again. Meals arrive and I've got crab so it takes time. Tony arrives the manager without visiting any other table to see if everything is ok, I say yes with holding my actual thought's Tony stops by again almost tossed off the deck. We were there for dinner January 22. We made reservations for 8 of us. We wanted to sit on the deck and asked if it would be warm. They assured us it would be. It was not. It was very cold. When you spend 500.00 for a group. You would expect them to be very hospitable. We talked to the manager who could have cared less. Very disappointing. read more
