Fermented papaya salad
Ellie N.

Price is up and it's justified. They moved from the previous food truck park to this plaza and it's nicer. Green curry: so flavorful Fermented papaya salad: hands down the best you can find in austin. Very authentic. They didn't tune down a bit for the American market. Stirred fried tofu: very good, nothing outstanding like the papaya salad though

We have loved Dee Dee's forever - this new location is awesome! Easy to order - online or QR code when arrived- food comes out quickly!! The moo ping skewers are top tier!! The best ever The pad kaprow and papaya salad are also our favorites to order First time trying the dumplings - delicious as well! Fried chicken was good but not my personal favorite There is plenty of outdoor seating / bar inside to order cocktails / beer and lots of restrooms Dog friendly too!! Parking lot can get full but right in front of business! Great outdoor spot to hang out and chill with friends and family

I would definitely have the Thai Fried Chicken again Really love the atmosphere and seating arrangement

I was so excited to try out Dee Dee's at Leona. I had heard how great and authentic their food is. Also I just love their story of how they came to be and the labor and love they put into their dishes. Also jackpot on location at Leona! For 3 of us we shared... PadKaPow $17 Extra Side of Chili Fish Sauce 75 cents Roasted Chicken with Sticky Rice $17 Pork Dumplings $10 Everything was beyond flavorful and scrumptious. I would order it all again! The dumplings were my favorite. The sauce it comes with and crispies are so freaking good!!! Can't wait to come back and try more menu items!

Pad ka Pow

Dee Dee is now located in a gorgeous third place where there are other bites available and a coffee/drinks place. A perfect spot to catch up with friends and also to be productive! Our favorite dish was the Pad Ka Pow, which was flavorful and delicious. I loved all the components of the dish and it went well with the rice. The Thai fried chicken was also delicious! I loved the sauce that it came with. Perfect amount of spice! The dumplings were the only miss, which I felt could be more flavorful, but were decent. Overall highly recommend the food especially for the value and the space it is located in.

3.5/5 for the pad ka-pow and 5/5 for pork skewers (moo-ping) and fried chicken. I thought the pad ka pow was missing a little sweetness so it was lacking that umami flavor. The dish was fragrant though. I would definitely get their pork skewers again. They were tender, sweet and savory. The fried chicken tasted like a Thai version of Taiwanese popcorn chicken. I love where this place is located (inside a beautiful botanical garden) with a cafe and another taco spot. It is dog friendly as well and the cafe also has fans outdoor. It felt very nice during and after the sunset!

It was a disappointing experience in Dee Dee. The location itself is gorgeous. They have a beautiful garden area that has river and is surrounded by other food trucks. It looks very nice at night. I have ordered pad kapow which costs $17. My egg was 50% overcooked and on the smaller side. The pork was dry and a bit bland. It was also unevenly seasoned with salt. Jasmine rice and what I believe is basil tasted quite good though, but the whole dish itself was incredibly dry. We arrived an hour before closing on Friday night and there was no line, food was ready in like 5 minutes. Service could have been warmer too.

Tofu Stir-fry

o Definitively some of the best Thai food in Austin (from someone who very much likes Thai food). The setting is above and beyond lovely, despite the parking as everyone says. Once you order at the window, the food was ready relatively quickly. We ordered a variety of items, including the papaya salad and each of us were very happy with our mains of Tofu Stir-fry, Roasted Chicken in Thai Marinade, and Street Noodles. The flavors are very tasty, and the food seems to be high quality. I am looking forward to returning to try their other dishes.

Checked out Dee Dee at their new Leona location and was super happy with the quality of the food! If you like spice, there are a ton of options to add a lot of thai eye chili peppers. Aside from that the salads are incredibly fresh and tasty and the tofu stir fry is very flavorful

Dee Dee's new location is on Brodie at Leona Cafe, it's a stunning setting! They are now open for lunch and dinner. We ordered online ahead of arriving in case there was a wait but it ended up not taking very long fortunately. The parking at leona is pretty limited so I would come during an off hour. The food is good. I enjoyed the pad kaprow and the fried chicken as well as the dessert. They do have more of a limited menu during lunch hours, so I will need to come back during dinner to try more of their items.

Mango sticky rice and roasted chicken

I ordered takeout and had the sticky mango rice and roasted chicken. INCREDIBLE. I old highly highly recommend

I can't believe I've never written a review for Dee Dee! They now have a physical location in the really cute park that just opened with Leona's and Veracruz. I really enjoyed Dee Dee when they were just a food truck. They have really good and authentic Thai food, and they have a even larger menu now! I thoroughly enjoyed their KaProw and pork dumplings. I also vaguely remember loving their Thai Tea at their food truck, but I didn't see it on their menu at this location.

Dee Dee Austin at Feona is such a gem! Dogs are welcome, and the staff is super friendly--instant good vibes the second you walk in. The fried chicken sticky rice? WOW. The chicken is perfectly crispy, the sticky rice is rich and comforting, and together it's basically a little bite of heaven. I tried to just have a few bites...spoiler: the plate was gone before I knew it. And the dumplings oh my gosh. Soft, flavorful, and so addictive I was already planning my next visit while chewing the last bite. Cozy, charming, and full of flavor, Dee Dee Austin is one of those spots that makes you happy you left the house. Come hungry, bring your dog, enjoy the friendly staff, and leave thinking about that fried chicken sticky rice for days. Highly recommend!

I paired it with a non-alcoholic beer, which was also great. The location couldn't be better if you're headed to a University of Texas at Austin football game or an event at the Moody Center. It's right across from both, making it a perfect pre-game or pre-concert spot. Outdoor patio was great to sit and relax as well. Definitely coming back -- the food alone is worth it!

It's really cool at those times, although the amount of people during game day can be overwhelming. I've been a number of times over the years. The food has always been okay, not great. This last time, I ordered the pastrami sandwich, no aioli. The sandwich came dry. Thankfully I had asked for some mustard for my waffle fries. It was supposed to be on a brioche bun, or maybe I mistook the two pieces of white bread I got as something less than they were. It's supposed to have brie on it, and maybe the heat evaporated it all into the pastrami? The house made pastrami itself was very good. My daughter had the green chile and cheddar sausage and commented that the bun was pretty much a piece of Texas toast. We did have an excellent pretzel and the green goddess salad was capable of being split among three of us. These things make me think I just picked the wrong thing. For all the times I've been to Scholz's, I haven't picked the right thing that makes me excited to go back to eat.

They were able to make it and they weren't sure why the QR code showed it as unavailable. Latte was delicious and just the right temp, banana bread may have been better to order during the day as it was a tad dry on the outside but good inside. Not sure if they have the option to warm up as well which would have made it amazing. Espresso martini was also solid. Not too sweet, could taste the coffee and the foam was light and airy. I'd go back to have other things especially their pastries. Parking was a bit tough due to the shared parking lot and limited spaces right near the restaurant.

When we were poking around looking for breweries in the area on Yelp we came across The Shady Llama! This place doesn't make their own beer but they have lots of guest taps for breweries in the surrounding area. It's a good variety of beers to choose from and it looks like there is at least one food truck available sometimes in case you get hungry. The main draw for why we came here was to see the llamas and indeed we dis see some. One of them gave us some attitude and then sauntered off down a hill, taking it's less moody companion with it. They were funny and with the attitude I got and the name of the place I posted the Eminem song "My Name Is" where the lyrics "Slim Shady" get mentioned on Instagram because I thought it was all quite fitting. Neither of them could finish their entire glass of beer, so I ended up chugging the remaining half of both of theirs. The customer service was so sweet--I was struggling to translate the menu with my mom, and the guy at the front desk was truly helpful throughout. It really raised the experience of this place during what could've been a relatively stressful situation. Dirty Horchata - I was hoping for a stronger horchata taste. It's not bad, so it was worth the shot! Just grateful it wasn't too sweet. My BFF felt the same, as we're both horchata fiends from growing up in Chicago. Cherry Cider - The cider has a tangy taste. The cherry flavor isn't as strong, but it's a fragrant drink. The flavor slowly became sweeter the more I drank it. It grew on me, but it wouldn't be my go-to unless I knew I was munching on something salty that night. Violet Blueberry Blonde - My favorite of the two. This one has a tamer flavor with a nicer floral note. It was exactly what I asked for. I felt like I could've easily chugged a few of these. The guy at the counter definitely chose a great pick. I love the low-key ambiance of this place, the peaceful nighttime atmosphere, the fact that it's wedged into a cozy nook, and how it isn't so LOUD like many bars. Didn't get bit by a mosquito while we hung out there for an hour, so that's a huge plus. They were probably chewing on my friends' legs too intently to consider me, though. The lavender flavor was very forward and there was a hint of sweetness on the back of the tongue, so very accurate. I didn't get as much coffee flavor here so maybe double espresso if that's important to you.
