Raul did an excellent job for me at a very fair price. I would absolutely call him first with any tree needs. I made a small miscommunication about what I needed and even tho it was my error, he came back and made it right free of charge. Super friendly, low cost, great service and timely work! I had a 20 ft tree leaning on the fence causing damage when it got windy. There were also power lines going into the house around the tree. I contacted Raul to remove the tree. Raul is a professional. He responded within 30 minutes, showed up the same day, provided a reasonable estimate, and took the tree down that afternoon. I would recommend him to anyone. read more

This firm might be good at taking down a dead tree if there's nothing you care about to drop stuff on. They killed one of my shrubs while working on a tree near it. Dropped a big limb right on it! The son Raul definitely shouldn't be left on his own. They are also clearly NOT arborists. They don't have a good understanding of how different types of trees should be pruned. Nor do they know how to prune trees in a way that is good for them and is aesthetically pleasing. Cutting limbs in the middle and not along the trunk or a larger branch is not cool. Leaving vertical/sucker-type branches or branches that are out of line with the rest of the tree's shape, also not cool. I'd recommend using a different tree service. read more

We had an unwanted, invasive tree growing on our side of the property, with limited clearance and growing into the fence that we wanted removed. Raul came out to give us a quote. He was on-time and his communication was superb. His quote was very reasonable. He and his guy showed up on time and handled business. They tidied up very well after. 5 stars for price and professionalism. read more

I confirmed the date and time along with my address the night before, and received a confirmation he would be there but ended up a show, and no phone call. The difference between a professional, and an amateur, is a professional honor their appointments and shows up. read more

I wish I had more trees so that I could have them come back sooner! I had been having trouble getting a service out to quote/trim our trees and I was scared that since stuff started to bloom we would be in trouble. I sent a request for a quote and Raul got back to me within an hour or less. He even offered to come out that evening to take a look. I set an appointment for him to come out the next morning. TOTALLY agree with other reviews: **Great Communication **Super Knowledgeable/Great Recommendations **Professional/Friendly **Fair Prices **Amazing results read more

Raul and his father were quick to respond to my request for a quote. Their quote was the best I'd received and I accepted their offer on the spot. They were back within a couple hours and completed the work in about one hour. Their communication was clear and polite. Raul n his father did an amazing job in pruning our trees. I will definitely recommend them for others n ll re-hire in the future.

I had a tree in my back yard that I wanted removed and I submitted my project details for a quote with another vendor on Yelp. Raul De La Torre tree service was one of the other vendors that Yelp referred and the 1st to respond and I'm so glad for that. Raul and his team was incredibly professional and would've gotten the job done the same day if I hadn't been out of town. Raul is very responsive, friendly and provided great service at a good price. I would definitely use them again for any tree services. Highly recommend to anyone! read more

We did not end trimming our trees yet but Raul was very responsive with clear communication on cost and the process they go through.

They helped us to plant three trees. They were on-time and did a really good job! We will definitely ask for their help again

Raul did a great job pruning large tree in front of my house. I will use him again for future tree services that I need.

Raul was very responsive, reasonable, friendly and listened to what we were looking for. I would recommend him for trees!

*This is for "De La Torre Tree Service" with Vicente and Raul, not to be confused with "De La Torre Tree Service Pros" who blew off my 8:30 AM estimate appointment and didn't even bother contacting, not to mention confused where I found his number when I called which leads me to assume that someone put up a first review using incorrect info.* I finally took care of my gigantic tree and I cannot be happier with the results. Vicente came out the same day to walk me through my options and associated pricing. I got two other quotes, one from one of the highest Yelp rated vendor and another non-Yelp rated vendor who does a ton of gardening in my neighborhood and did a great job with my neighbor's tree. I actually hit the Yelp "get a quote" button with two other business as I had to get the job done in three days as I was in the middle of another project. One only did estimating on weekend which didn't work for me and the other one texted me back after the job had started. De La Torre price was slightly higher than the other non-Yelp vendor but they are tree specialists, not primarily a gardening service. The nearly perfect Yelp quote was by far the highest and I felt quite uncomfortable with the very aggressive sales closing tactics. The estimator started throwing out more and more discounts just to get the job once he found out he wasn't going to win. I had already committed to go with Vicente at that point and glad that I stuck to it. The other vendor was very proud of my neighbor's tree and was fine whether I went with him or not. Vicente was referred to me through a very highly regarded realtor with an impeccable reputation so I decided to take a chance although he had no Yelp reviews. He came out with his son Raul and two other guys on Saturday morning, worked all day, and finished the job so much better than we had agreed on. They mentioned that they have been thinking about starting a Yelp page but fine without it due to ongoing and referral business. I was a bit surprised that they actually really care about taking care of trees and safety of the home, the neighborhood, making sure all of our neighbors are ok, etc. It was very easy to work with Vicente and Raul from the start to scheduling the job and I highly recommend this business for tree service. read more

We needed to remove a dead tree in our backyard before the fire season starts. Called a few companies and Raul was the most reasonable and can do the job immediately. He and his team did a great job. Definately hire Raul and his team for your tree service needs. They are awesome. I originally hired Raul/his team for tree removal, pruning, yard clean up which went well; however, based on recent experiences, I can no longer endorse this business. The initial service provided was good and based on good faith I hired  Raul/his team to do ongoing yard maintenance on agreed upon dates and paid him in advance for 3 services. He has only provided 2 services so far and the 2nd was incomplete. The 3rd service should have been complete on this week but he has not replied to any of my text and has not refunded me for the 3rd service. There has been no communication and frankly I was not happy with the follow up yard maintenance provided. Given this, I can not recommend this business anymore. read more

I highly recommend Raul and his team for your tree cutting / trimming services. They are: * Very professional and easy to work with. * Priced very competitively. I received several quotes and they came out on top. * I talked to Raul about cutting down 1 tree but we ended up trimming 4 other trees. They were able to do the job the same day! * I was concerned about the city picking up all the cuttings so Rahul came back the next day which was 4th of July to ensure that we didn't have any problems. That's what I call excellent customer service. Overall great service and a job well done! You won't be disappointed if you engage De La Torre Tree Service. read more

Raul is awesome! I contacted Raul for cutting trees and his team showed up the very next day. His team is very professional, and they cleaned the yard after the work. My project was more difficult and time consuming than what Raul estimated, however, Raul's team worked hard and completed the project satisfactorily. Raul kept his words and came back to complete the left-over project in the next few days. He also responded to my message very quickly. read more

Raul: Thank you so much for the wonderful service you provided to me at my home over the weekend. The trees were done expertly and has made a difference in the appearance of my property. The price quoted met my budget and I would highly recommend you to anyone wanting a reference on your fine work. Thanks again - I'll be contacting you again in the fall for more tree trimming and pruning in preparation for the winter months. Thanks again for your fine attention to detail. read more

I contacted these folks thru Yelp and Raul responded within thirty minutes via Yelp followed by a call. He came home within an hour and gave me an estimate for pruning close to 12 fruit trees and as an added bonus, he said that he would also trim my two tall palm trees off their dried up fonds along with the pruning-- meaning he didn't charge extra for the palm trees. After i told him that I would let him know in couple of days, he came back in half hour and said that he would do the job right that day ( it was a rainy day). With his helper, he along with his assistant completed the job in around three hours which included the cleaning of the entire place of all the pruned debris. His dad joined in between and helped cleaning the place. In my opinion, Raul was very professional, his charges were very moderate compared to couple of other quotes and the work done was excellent. I need to wait till summer to see how the pruned tress are going to fruit and I hope it will do good. I certainly recommend Raul without any reservation. read more

Raul is a stand up guy who is knowledgeable, honest and loves what he does. He just spent the better part of 1 and half hours giving me a free quote and his opinion of the health of my redwoods. He was finishing work at my neighbors so I walked over quit to ask for an estimate to trim my trees as it's been on the to-do list for some time. Even after a long day in the sun trimming my neighbors trees, he took the time to assess my situation, provide some great options and even gave me the names of a few competitors so I could get a second opinion. Needless to say, I will be calling Raul next week for a proper consultation. read more

We had the pleasure of working with Raul and his company De La Torre last week and have not regretted it. There are many tree services out there on Yelp and on the Internet but this one stands out to me as one of the most honest, upfront, all around greatest to deal with companies. The price was competitive and did a great job of showing us in a picture the trees circling what he believed needed to be trimmed and why. That really helped because other companies gave me quotes but either didn't show up when they said they were going to or bowed out of our deal even after the both of us agreed to the job. So when someone like Raul comes along who had excellent communications with us and did good quality work on our trees, it's very refreshing and a pleasure to see. You won't regret selecting Raul and his company for your tree trimming needs. read more

After talking with a few tree removal companies, I decided to engage Raul for removal of two Liquid Amber trees because of how he described the job process. He was friendly, understanding of the situation, and collaborative. He even offered to work with the city in case there were any objections. Having him engaged definitely put me at ease that the work would be done and any regulatory considerations would be handled well. I plan to engage Raul again as I have additional tree care needs in the future. read more

I have been on the lookout for a tree pruner who is able to trim fruit trees. We have 6 fruit trees of different varieties and ages. The trees all have in common that they need to be trimmed. So after looking around, I found Raul at De La Torre Tree Service. What an exemplary interaction. When he came out to look at the trees, he could tell that they were in dire need of help. Some of the trees were in pretty bad shape with fire blight, etc. After he looked at the work to be done, we came to a good agreement on price and timing. He completed the work as per our agreement. I would not hesitate to call Raul back next year for the next round of pruning. Call him a tree whisperer! read more

Very pleased with the quality of the service, the cost and the quick response. Hard workers ego are friendly.

The tree in my yard is looking great after getting a much-needed trim from Raul. He was very quick answering my message, and was even able to start the job on the same day! Now that my tree's branches aren't practically reaching the ground, I can walk around without worrying about these summertime bees in my face. read more

Raul was great! He came out the same day I called him and was cutting the tree the next day. His price was competitive to previous quotes I had got, but was able to save me some additional money by placing the trimmings on the street to have the city pick up (in san jose). There was a rather large pile (5' W x 50' L x 4' H), I was a bit skeptical the city would take it, but sure enough they took it all. Raul even came back to clean up the left over debris in the street. He and his crew finished the job as described and even chopped up some of the larger pieces for firewood. Highly recommend! read more

Prompt and professional service. Raul came by to access the job. He was able to give a quote right away. Very happy with the overall service. read more

Quick response and appointment scheduling, showed up on time and did the work well. Competitive rates, would recommend.

Raul said he would show up at 9:30 am on Sunday and he showed up, with his team, at 9:30 am. They said they would be done by 12:00 pm and they were done at 12:00 pm. Raul explained what he was going to do and brought us in to discuss the trees and asked for our input. Very professional and they got the job done without issue. Pricing was very resonable and fair. I highly recommend Raul De La Torre and his team at Dela Torre Tree Service (rdlt2016@gmail.com, 408-320-3610). We will use them for all future tree service needs. read more
